    You mention at 4:55 that we might need to do a good amount of "tinkering" on the device to make "3d games" playable...when you say 3D games do you mean specifically for N64/PS1/ dreamcast / PSP games? I assume there is no tinkering needed for easier systems like SNES / GBC / GBA correct? (it's strange that this device would require more tinkering than the RG35XX, isn't that one older?)

      Right. Your 8 and 16 bit era stuff is great. And honestly PS1 is too. But N64, PSP, and Dreamcast need a little help. The RG35XX is older, but it also wasn’t made to run any game that requires a joystick.

    was it just n64 that was problematic out of the box with the stock card, or was it also problematic with other systems like SNES, GBC, GBA, PS1 ?

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  9 месяцев назад

      Just the N64. All those others ran really well! 👍

    does playing PS1 and PSP good in this device? or do i need still get the Ark OS?

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  Год назад +3

      PS1 is pretty good out of the box, but PSP works much better with ArkOS.

    The 64 games not working properly really does feel like a missed opportunity

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  Год назад +1

      Yes. I was pretty disappointed in that, and hate to be the bearer of bad news. But I also, gotta be honest about the pros and cons! I’m hoping that within a year we’ll have a budget 64 device!

    one other question: where do you save your game progress on a device like this one ? for example, if you play pokemon GBC or GBA and you save your progress in the game, where is it saved? (is it on the stock card, or on the roms card?) Since there is no internal drive on this RG35PS, i am trying to understand how this works. I am a newb..sorry! Thanks in advance

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  9 месяцев назад +1

      No worries! We’re all newbs at some point. 😂 It depends a little on how you set it up. Because you can do a one card setup or a two card setup. But it will be on the card that has the games on it.

      @@BoKnowsGaming did you have issues with the battery in anbernic devices like this one for example? I read some people complain in comments but not sure how common it is

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  9 месяцев назад

      No. Not at all. I had a firmware issue on a different anbernic device that required me to disconnect the battery for 15 seconds, then reconnect it. But that wasn’t the batteries fault. I know some people have had battery issues, so maybe there’s some quality control problems there. But I think they may have fixed some of those problems at this point as well. Personally, I haven’t experienced any of those issues though. All the Anbernic devices I’ve reviewed have had really good battery life. In fact I dropped a review yesterday on the RG353V if you’re interested in checking that out. ruclips.net/video/8u5CmvApfUg/видео.html

      @@BoKnowsGaming by any chance (if you don't know big deal)...do you know if Pico-8 games run? Since this OS is a butchered version stolen from Batocera, I was told Pico-8 doesn't run. There are quite a few good games on that "system"

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  Год назад

      Yes, so Pico-8 definitely runs on ArkOS, which is what I had to install for this video to get N64 running better. And on ArkOS the Pico-8 stuff is fantastic, and you can download and install right on the device without removing the sd card and using a computer. But out of the box you're not going to have access to that library. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this unless you're ok installing ArkOS and tinkering with things.

      @@BoKnowsGaming I actually got mine for 77 bucks. It should arrive this Wed. I never tried ArkOS but I wouldn't mind giving it a try. Thanks for letting me know about Pico-8. If the "Batocera" stolen version they use doesn't work I'll try the other OSes. I wanted to try the PortMaster so if you have a video, I'll be sure to watch that. Thanks again for the reply on Pico-8!

    • @BoKnowsGaming
      @BoKnowsGaming  Год назад

      $77?! It's definitely worth it at that price, even if you have to put a little work into it. This is the first time I had tried ArkOS, and I actually thought it was really great. And Portmaster is built right into the final build of ArkOS I believe, so you should be good to go.
      Let me know how it works out for you! Happy gaming!
