+Sam Frost I agree. To clarify I would just say that the majority of mainstream well known female MCs are as I described above and I think that's what most people are exposed to so that is what they associate with female rappers. I guess I should have said most well known female MCs aren't as good as Dessa and they often worry more about their image than their craft.
Heard this on welcome to night vale first and I'm delighted that there's an audio tree session, that's always a great point to start listening to a band
Just wanted to question why dude on turntables looks pretty scratch happy yet there is no audio and or scratch sounds that match up with him pushing his hand back and forth over and over. All I see him actually do is stop the track at the end.
The studio version is the best run of it out of multiple attempts on a verse (for hours often). Then, on top of that, it's altered to sound even better. Of COURSE the studio version sounds better. Just like an edited book looks better than a rough draft or a movie with special effects looks better than the live run through...
HuMuSuX I thought this live version was better. Harmonization in the hook was MUCH better, especially with Dessa's voice standing out in the first two.
doomtree is so criminally underrated
I couldn't agree more!!
They made me fall in love with hip hop again, after over 15 years of listening to metal
Same here. (Kinda eerily so, with the 15 years of metal and all!)
Both are 👍
Dessa always kills it. I can't believe in todays day and age people still don't wanna give female MCs credit.
+Sam Frost Most of them aren't nearly as good as Dessa and they often worry more about their image then their craft.
Jessica Bonds Only the pop ones. There are plenty of really good female MCs out there like Eternia and NoLay.

+Sam Frost They do for people like Nicki Minaj but not good ones like Dessa
give me a female artist who doesnt try and be black

Sims grooving while Cecil and Dessa float that chorus, too effing cute
One of my top 13 favorite songs from this album.
I love the rapper in a fucking knit sweater. Badass as fuck.
That's Cecil Otter. You should check the albumn Rebel Yellow.
Cecil always gives me chills
this live edition is the best track doomtree has the bends just kicks off the roof. especially live.
Cecil kills it....absolutely brilliant
"Welcome to Delphi
They’ll come with questions
Answer what you can
Everybody knows the new oracle’s at hand"
So much talent on show here, this is the kind of crew that I wish I would run into at a party....

Hate to say it but live never sounds as good as studio version

+Merrick Cassian +xele fonte I dunno man. Dessa's solo work with the live band arrangements are arguably better than her studio albums.
No live is better.
I prefer this version than studio version.
is this a real band or did they just pick up 5 random people and ask them to rap ? lmao
this dude flunked chemistry
wait...... what ?
+Philip Procter that is funny as hell! definitely flunked chemistry
Why are you lmao? Doomtree os a crew. Try using google. Its pretty easy.
im surrounded by assholes
Interesting style, but that girl on a vocals ain’t got flow.
this is christian rock for rap
What???
Ummmm
Pretty lame
chippchipp1 Pretty much. The hook especially is painfully dull.
EDIT: Dessa's opening to the song is pretty good, tho.
chippchipp1 The album version is much better
I think you guys are all deaf. Sounds good to me.
HuMuSuX I thought this live version was better. Harmonization in the hook was MUCH better, especially with Dessa's voice standing out in the first two.
Pffffffffft pretty lame satirical comment is what I say!
