7yrs and this video is still good. Just want to let the iPhone users know, Make sure your hdmi to iPhone converter is connected to the power otherwise it will not work. Rear video is what you choose to stream.
1:48 to end of the video is ultra important for the exact setting to be down after physical connection. Not many videos explaining that. As a matter of fact that’s what did the trick for me after a month Many thanks again
Going to try this on our road trip with Nintendo Switch to display on screen so more than one person can play. I made the mistake before this video of buying the HDMI output, AV input....so glad you clarified it needs to be opposite! I'll give it a go and post what happens! Your link is now expired so I went with a suggested similar item. I have a 2012 Honda Pilot Touring.
Been at it for a month nearly and finally came across ur video . Made it a simple 10 min setup Super and many thanks 🙏 Kids are now going to be super happy
Hi...I have a 2015 Honda Odyssey , I purchased all of the materials and I still can't seem to get it to work.. I wondered if I am doing something wrong... I have the materials hooked up correctly but I'm thinking that I it's something with the source... I don't have the hdmi option on my screen at all. Please help!!
I have the same ports in my Honda pilot 2011 and I'll try to see if this works,, I'd like to connect my switch in the back screen or stream Content from my cellphone, thank you for this video, I'll come back once I get the equipment for an update!!
Why do you need the converter box? For power? Does that mean I need to buy 2 sets of cables? I want to hook up my kid's Nintendo Switch to our white, yellow, and red females (for lack of the proper term) in our 2008 Chrysler T&C. That's weird how your connections are in the door panel...just an observation.
for that one wire that has two wire one for your phone and the random ubs and other end is hdmi. What did you do with that ubs? did u plug the ubs into a some power outlet as well or you didn't use it at all?
You have to plug it to the front power outlet through usb. The existing usb didn’t work for me so I connected USB port to the power outlet and connected the usb. Hope that helps.
Does this not work with 2017 odyssey touring and iPhone 6? I want to play movies from iTunes but keep getting an error message saying the video is protected?
Use either the Official Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter, OR, connect an Apple TV to the HDMI input of the box in this video and stream from the iPhone to the Apple TV wirelessly and a lot more conveniently. I've tried both of these options and they worked for me. I powered the HDMI>RCA converter via a 12V>USB power plug just behind the rear seat 2 feet back and used the AC outlet for the Apple TV and stowed it all neatly behind the rear seat in a little basket. Wireless streaming to the RES from the iPhone and iPad was glorious!
I couldn't read the response re 2007 Odyssey, but assume that the system described wouldn't work anyway. One of the ribbons is broken and needs to be replaced. Where does one find such or is the repair to replace the entire mechanism? Thank you. Jack
this worked for me. however, the screen in the car is black and white. still have to troubleshoot. any suggestions would be certainly welcome. thank you.
So I just bought a 2013 Honda odessey and hooked everything up in accordance with the video but I cannot seem to get anythong other than a rainbow screen showing no signal. Did you set up the phone is anyway?
I tried this setup in my 2008 Odyssey and it didn't work. I am trying to play movies from my iPad2 on the DVD system in my Odyssey and have it show up on screen. Exactly how you did it but with my iPad2 instead. I purchased the converter box, video cables, HDMI cables, and the ipad2 cable that allows for hdmi since ipad2 doesn't have HDMI port. Any suggestions how how to get the movies to show up on the screen in my Odyssey?
So I have a 2007 honda oddysey I ordered the hings they didn't work they just gave me a no signal screen but, luckily I had a chromecast device that has and hdmi port to plug in the converter box if it didn't work for you, here are the items I bought

I have followed all your instructions with the gear, but don’t seem to see what to set the vehicle to on the infotainment system? For example, I have to click DVD when playing a DVD. What setting should the vehicle be in to get it to the screen?

I followed your procedure and it worked. I also bought a right connection for my LG G3 phone, instead of Galaxy.
Thanks.

Question for all odyssey drivers… are these vans meant to idle for a few hours?
Why did they add the hdmi on the other side of the van if you can’t use it for video, I mean what would you use it for
Now I gotta try this. No one really carries DVDs anymore. We just bought a 2013 Honda Odyssey.
Good video but you got a Misleading title. Music is also way too loud i can't make out what you are saying most of the time.

Thank you! We are considering not buying due to the inability to connect to iphone or ipad!
But my question to you my friend it is,why you don't use the other port HDMI in the other side?
Can i just use my Portable tv and Xbox one x through an extention cord? Or will that take up alot of power?
I have the same ports in my Honda pilot 2011 and I'll try to see if this works,, I'd like to connect my switch in the back screen or stream Content from my cellphone, thank you for this video, I'll come back once I get the equipment for an update!!

Do you think this would work with using a roku stick instead of a phone?

Hello I Was Wondering If I Can Use This Exact Setup In My 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L No Navigation But Has DVD
I couldn't read the response re 2007 Odyssey, but assume that the system described wouldn't work anyway. One of the ribbons is broken and needs to be replaced. Where does one find such or is the repair to replace the entire mechanism? Thank you. Jack
Tim, do you know a way to add a Front-View camera to a Honda? Is there a method to use the HDMI to interface to a front camera?
does it charge your phone

I tried av to vga and then vga to USB c and it didn't work on my 07. This might help but I don't have outlet
My odyssey has a HDMI port and I bought that apple HDMI port converter and connected it to my phone it doesn’t work did I do something wrong???
Holy smokes thanks
My 2016 Odyssey comes with an HDMI port located on the right side. I'm guessing earlier year models didn't come with this?
Aves Raggiana you are correct!
Where in the right I don't see mine
Third row, just above the side armrest. It has a cover you flip open. (2016 Elite).
How do you get the screen to show image
Aves Raggiana EX-L doesn't have this?
Where can I buy this?
I did everything as shown, but it does not work for me !!

i did the samething but i have audio but no video in the screen
Be aware, not all phones support HDMI out which allows mobile devices to output video.
Is that hdmi to C type
It didn't work for me...
how do you connect ps2
Can i do with honda pilot touring 2014?
Thank you so much! It worked but with my Xbox, but can someone tell me how to make it a lot less blurry
Make sure your rca converter is HD and it has power otherwise it might not be enough but the quality is limited since it’s connected through rca.
As a follow up I have a 2016 honda odyssey touring
I have followed all your instructions with the gear, but don’t seem to see what to set the vehicle to on the infotainment system? For example, I have to click DVD when playing a DVD. What setting should the vehicle be in to get it to the screen?
Rear entertainment
Rear aux video
honda should have gave us usb ports instead of hdmi...
HDMI lets to you use chromecast / roku in the car.
Porque ami no mequiere funcionR
Why is there loud music on this video? Makes this video very hard to listen to.
In the back on the other side is an actual HDMI port..
Not in this make/year model
