Just built an M53 and totally new to belt feds, didn't realize I could do that with the starter tabs. Thanks.

Just got my 44 dated mg42 and I’m extactic! If I put inert rounds in could I cock it while they’re on the feed tray without pulling the trigger?

When was it deactivated..if it's a current eu spec then pulling the cocking handle will not operate anything anyway,so it will not push anything out of a belt of ammo.

@@historicmilitaria1944 I thought i mentioned... So sorry! It's an old spec UK one.

@coolexploiter1943 while the belt is on the feed tray it can be cocked but dont pull the trigger as this will force a round out of the belt and will damage it as it will go up against the barrel inner weld and push the bullet backwards into the case.

I have a question. Where do you get your deactivated weapons from.

    • @historicmilitaria1944

its been a while since ive added any deacs but the majority were bought from deac dealers in the uk,some were bought at mil fairs, but we are talking years ago when prices were still good and the methods of deactivation were more acceptable than today.
