Yeah it’s pretty dark considering the theme and who Niko Bellic is and what he had to go through to live the American dream. Sure, other games in the series had more pizazz and color but most of the time it was meant to be more comedic and satirical. GTA IV skipped the comedic bit and went straight for satirical and dark, especially towards the end of the storyline.

I know this is an older one and this is unlikely to be noticed but, these vg covers make me want to be better... To do better, as an amateur multi instrumentalist, these are very impressive and i̶n̶s̶p̶i̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ motivating. No joke, love to see accurate and lively interpretations like this.
