Thank you for this stance. During the depp case you were naturally one of the top voices in the community, but in this case, when you're one of a whole sea of true crime channels, I can really see just how your content and approach stands out! you're original, thoughtful, reasonable, calm, you make videos when you actually think your voice will help clarify things, and you do your research.
Town I lived in years back had a horrific murder and one guy saw the scene and didn’t call the police till much later, much like this case. After investigation, he had a sever PTSD and basically just shut down for days. It happens, she shouldn’t be blamed, and thank God she wasn’t victim #5
Thank you so much for encouraging support of D.M! As a Forensic Psychology grad student and a nontraditional student old enough to be these students' mother and classmate, my heart breaks for them. The four who are gone can never be brought back, and I pray for their parents. However, the two surviving roommates are victims in their own right. They will both struggle with this for the rest of their lives, as you mentioned Andrea, and I agree they are heroes. They are heroes just for surviving. D.M. had no idea for sure what was happening when she saw someone in her home in the middle of the night, but her strength to survive gave the case the evidence that you mentioned. Terms like trauma and victim are overused these days, but they are appropriate for the surviving roommates. I honestly do not know how they will be able to sleep without someone else keeping watch and staying awake so they feel safe enough to sleep. How do you ever feel safe enough to sleep again in your own home? Any home? And that's just the beginning of the likely PTSD response they both will have. One has to hope they have supportive friends and family in addition to solid counseling to work through all of this initially. I'm a woman of faith, so I pray for these things. That's all I can do when I'm not directly involved. I do hope people stop judging others and assuming what you would mentally go through if you were in the same situation. Her only task in that moment was to keep it together enough to survive. She did that. That's enough.
My thoughts also. I have said this to a number of people. If only others can understand this. People are so quick to point a finger. Those that feel they would have handled the situation so much better, hopefully will never have to find out.
The more people see how excellent she is in explaining the law and identifying likely actions, the more they should be tempted to subscribe. At this point, they should be very tempted :-0)
I have mad respect for you Andrea! Hero, indeed. I suffered a traumatic experience at 28 yrs old and understand the ‘shock.’ My mind shut down for 6 hrs, then remembrances started slowly coming back until I realized it actually happened 😳 Thank for your care regarding this hero/victim ❤️
I have been defending that VICTIM ever since that PCA came out and I will continue. Its easy to say what you WOULD do if you were in that situation UNTIL you are actually in that situation. I guarantee you that everything you PLAN you would do drastically changes! Nothing ever goes as planned. I have never been in that situation or anything but I do have common sense! All these grown adults bullying and victim blaming is absolutely DISGUSTING! These are grown ass adults doing it! I have said some not so nice things to ppl but I dont care.
Thank you for spending some time on expressing understanding of how she did not call 911 immediately. So frustrating to hear everybody say what they KNOW they would’ve done…
And really what was she supposed to call 911 for? She heard crying, but I'm sure living with that many girls you'll hear crying from time to time. It seems most of the sound of the killing wasn't as loud as one would expect a murder to be. What noise there was eather wasn't loud or unusual enough for her to be curious and investigate. She saw a creepy guy in the house who scared her? Hasn't one of the biggest talking points that there were constantly people coming in and out of the house? Hindsight really is 20/20.
@@stargazerkawaii I absolutely agree with both of you! I don't understand this blame culture, that is looking for someone to point their fingers at every time something goes wrong. I'm sure, I wouldn't have called 911 either in her situation.
Same people that say they know for a fact they would stand up to dictators and not be one of the cheering masses. They have no idea what they would really do.
Several years ago my house was cased with somebody driving by slowly several times, is not a busy street in a busy area. Despite being pretty sure what was happening was not normal or particularly safe I was still extremely reluctant to call the police because I didn’t wanna look stupid and overreact. Considering the party house reputation, I can think of several reasons why someone in that position would not just call 911. so much empathy to DM! And to everybody involved.
I'm going to start by saying I've read many comments and heard Andrea's explanation as to why DM didn't call 911 til 11am next day. This was one thing my mother was questioning when discussing this case w me. To those who say "Well u don't know what u would do", well, yes I do. Back in 2007 my mother and I came home from Christmas shopping to 3 ppl in our house (I was a single mom of 3 at the time and living back w my parents). We immediately called 911. In 2016 my husb and I came home to find our house had an attempted break-in, and someone fleeing thru our backyard. We immediately called 911. My oldest daughter, now 24, two yrs ago had a strange man snooping around outside her house when she was home alone (she's married w 2 kids) and she immediately called 911. I have personally never in my life heard of someone _not_ calling 911 in that situation, and then just hiding and going to sleep til the next day. So for me, my mother, my kids who are _all_ questioning these actions, it's not bc we want to be trolls, or just be mean. It literally makes no sense to us. My oldest son is 20 and currently away at univ. He, his girlfriend, his 4 roommates, and just ppl at his univ in general (bc everyone at univs are talking about this case) are _all_ baffled by it. This is not an isolated or unheard of response to this information. I want to be clear that I'm not making any accusations or assumptions bc that's just not who I am. I must have facts and evidence before I believe anything or come to any conclusion. She obviously didn't know a horrendous tragedy had come to her friends, but seeing an intruder and not doing anything is bizarre.
Again, that's how you reacted. I'm the same way. I act. However, many don't. There are many ppl who freeze here in comments. Also, living in a loud frat house means strangers may be in your home. There's noise. Ppl just kinda ignore it. Add booze and well..here we are I'm often confused by 'freezers' , my partner is one. But not everyone is like you and me
I’m so glad you’ve made this video. You’re completely right. It’s terribly upsetting seeing people who have no experience or understanding of real terror make judgements about her when we simply don’t have all the facts. Not to mention that this has only just begun for her, I’m sure this has had a huge impact already and somehow she has to find the strength for the trial. She’s in my thoughts every day.
Love that you’re covering this, but love to see your empathy for this poor young girl. I can’t imagine what she’s going through and what she still has to go through. Thanks Andrea !
Exactly. Even if she was scared, she probably saw people in and out of her house all the time and wouldn’t even think of murder! We don’t even know if she was sober.
@@Marie-ct4td Idk who would take any of that information to add up to murder immediately. My neighbors dogs were barking last night, I often hear furniture shifting. If someone walked by outside, I don’t think I’d assume a murder happened.
She was probably used to seeing people come and go. I wonder if she felt “creepy” because she must’ve smelled the blood? She must have been so scared! And confused.
Thank you for saying this. I keep hearing basically victim blaming for not calling at at time of seeing him. Anyone who has had roommates wouldn’t see or hear any of that stuff and think it’s abnormal in the moment. She is a hero and needs to be supported and left alone by anyone interested in the case. ❤❤
You are so right, I was one of those people that was questioning why it took so long for DM to call 911 but as always with your legal commentation, you always have such a beautiful way of saying it. you’re absolutely right she was traumatized. I can’t imagine going through that. So thank you for always being so kind ❤
I am so grateful to see someone give her grace for her actions that night. I can't imagine the level of trauma and survivor's guilt she is experiencing right now.
Brilliantly said! Ppl saying “why didn’t she blah blah?” Or, “I would have done this, that or the other”. Until you are in a similar situation, none of us has any clue how we would react, and I hope non of us ever do
So terrifying for DM, not only during the attack, but subsequently as the murders were discovered, and the killer(who she witnessed) remained at large. Plus - he went back to the scene 4 hours later where it was clear no police were there yet. She deserves our thanks and our prayers.
I want to thank you for all that you said. I have a connection with her family, and knew this the next morning. What I was told by a family member was that she saw someone, felt uncomfortable. Went down stairs to BF room, was reassured by BF, and slept downstairs. In a quiet house. She had no idea, nor should she ever thought what happened did. She was not in shock, she was uncomfortable. It is so sad the many many horrible things that people have said about her and the 8 hours. It breaks my heart. She and BF both have had their lives changed for ever…
Thank you Andrea for watching this case. I have a feeling DutyRon RUclips channel will be relying on you to return to explain the stages of the legal system. And, thank you so much for respecting this young lady's privacy. Fight, flight, or FREEZE. But, she is still able to help, and possibly more people. One cannot imagine what she saw just to egress the house! She was the unconscious person from hyperventilating so badly calling 911 that she fainted. The other roommate and friends took over the call. Ethan's brother, #2 of triplets was also on scene. Cannot imagine the years of therapy they will be facing. Even the police officers have regular mental health checks from this case.
Thank you Andrea for your great insight again. Poor DM will need a lot of help to overcome how she must be feeling, she was not aware at the time of the tragedy that had taken place.
DM would have had to see something exiting her room and on the way to the 1st floor. Blood everywhere. By 8:00 am, zero noise on 2nd floor and dog upstairs left alone w/bodies on 3rd, and no noise, no girl coming down stairs to the 2nd fl.? No dog walk. Its more than likely those 2 surviving girls called friends to come over to that house after knowing someone was dead. Impossible for DM not to know, door to bedroom open, door to bathroom open according to account in Affidavit on that 2nd fl.; and stairs to 1st floor near that bedroom w/couple and DM's. DM did not see a knife and perp had just come from finishing off Xana. I cannot imagine DM's fear; but she was aware enough to lock door, and hide; something not one of the victims thought necessary in that house before going to bed/food drop off ( including the sliding glass door on the 2nd floor and where at 4:05+- am a food order was successfully delivered). If perp was in/near the house at that time he had less than 15 minutes to kill 4 people not sure where 3 of them are. Or I'm guessing, which blonde was which on the 3rd. If Xana and beau were awake eating, perp would have known going up to the 3rd., believed to be the initial target. They did hear something, and perp returning to the 2nd, confronted them and were murdered, Xana not quite until crying and alerting perp who said "... it's okay, let me help you w/that." Awful, and if no noise made I could see why DM wouldn't be too scared when opening door 2nd x, before seeing him. However, its truly hard to believe Xana made zero noise when she was finally killed, if shortly before heard crying by DM. If the witness couldn't figure out was happening, I'd be surprised; but wouldn't she, at 20yrs. old/freshman or not, and her friend, not ask or go to to Xana and ask what's wrong? Unless, people go in and out all the time at any hour? (Party house off campus may also mean a safe place to store drugs, hence calls to friends to come over, much earlier than any police calls.) It's understandable she'd hide, wait, even if unaware what was less than 15' from her bedroom door, but it is not understandable the other witness in the house wasn't concerned about DM's story. And absolutely not understandable to bring people over to go through that house; no dog, no noise, no movement from 4people, and DM fleeing to the 1st floor. These 2 are not kids.
Andrea, you are such a class act! Thank you for spending time focusing on why she is the hero. People have really lost sight of this. You are such a role model for everyone!
Thank you so much for doing this Andrea… DM needs this kind of recognition & messaging to make an inkling of difference in her recovery. Not criticism from the peanut galleries. My heart goes out to her & the trauma she has to live with. I cannot imagine it.
I have so much respect for you, Andrea, thank you for putting out this content. I can't even imagine the horror of what DM went through. If it was light enough for Dylan to see details like Bryan's bushy eyebrows, was she also able to see he was covered in blood? At least blood spatter on or around his face even with a mask? Seeing a blood-covered stranger, probably holding a knife? Going into shock, mentally shutting down, unable to speak or move is absolutely understandable. For any of us. Even if she didn't see blood, it would be so natural to start second-guessing herself, maybe a bit drunk, trying to rationalize what she heard and saw, denying to herself that anything bad could or did happen. Just horrible for DM to go through, and she deserves nothing but compassion.
Judging from an interview of one of the parents, they don't blame this girl. I'm sure they know a lot more now than the public knows. From what I've read, this girl had suffered prior trauma in her life. Nobody knows how they'd act in this horrific situation. My heart breaks for this girl.
@@SiminaKiss we belong to a club that nobody wants to be a member of, it seems. It's different smells for me. One of them being clove, of all things. If the victims families can forgive, we need to follow their lead because whatever that girl went through in the past must have been horrible.
Thank you Andrea as always a great stream. Thanks also for being respectful to the witness, the poor kid must be going through hell! I wish people would stop shaming her. 💜yes she is a hero for sure! 🙏
Thank you, as always, Andrea, for your clear, concise explanation of DM's plight in this horrific and tragic case. I hope she will be able to someday see her part in this as heroic, as you do, and that she is able to forgive herself for anything she thinks she should have done. I hold her in the same regard as you do. A heroine.
based on the way the affidavit was written i suspect investigators have been kind to her and helping her understand the value and impressiveness of her description. they single her out as giving a key description that allowed them to know it was him when they saw the licence.
I've seen your videos for the past 6 months and I can see the importance it was for you to advocate for this young lady, DM. No one can possibly know what happened in those moments since #1 there is a lot of info we don't know yet and #2 we can't possibly judge someone dealing with a horrific situation like this. Sending love to DM!
Thanks for your analysis but especially for your words! So many people, mainly on social media, criticized DM for telling her story so late. It's so important to educate about such cases and to put the spotlight on victims and survivors, who will deal with what happened for a long time 🙏🙏🙏
That is a great way to help DM look at this situation! I hope she sees your video. There are people out in social media blaming her for not calling 911 immediately. They are showing their ignorance to how trauma actually works! It’s shameful to victim blame so kudos to you, Andrea, for standing up for DM!
SM has been jumping on every major bandwagon in this case. We’ve seen it time and time again with all the false accusations coming out. Even before the PCA came out after BKs arrest, people were making up reasons why he’s a murderer without knowing what the police had. It’s been a major demonstration of people’s ignorance.
Thank you, Andrea, for your calm and thoughtful response to DM's role in this tragedy and your coverage in general. I look forward to any and all commentary you provide on every case you cover.
Excellent perspective, Andrea. Thank you so much for sharing. My heart goes out to DM as I cannot even imagine the horror she is reliving in her sleeping and waking hours.
100% agree with you, Andrea. My heart breaks for this poor girl, the survivors guilt alone can be crippling, but the absolute horror of what she saw that morning will no doubt change her life forever. I’m so grateful that she’s alive and was able to help get this guy, I just wish everyone would see it the way you described in this video. D.M. needs support and love, and nothing less….
THANK YOU for sharing this. We THINK we know what we would do in a situation like this, especially since we know what happened, but there is no way to know what we would actually do in this situation. I don't think DM even remotely thought that 4 people had been murdered. Shock can take hours, days, and even weeks to wear off. She also likely tried to rationalize what she saw. It was dark, so even if Kohberger was covered in blood, she wouldn't have been able to see that. I hope people leave her alone. I imagine she and the other girl are dealing with quite a bit of trauma,
Thank you so much for dedicating some time and energy on this! D.M. deserves nothing but love and support right now, and I can’t understand those who are trying to vilify her or anyone besides Kohberger. We don’t have all the information, and I guarantee it will make sense once we do. In the meantime, we need to show grace and compassion for this girl and the terrible horrifying experience she went through.
Dear Andrea, your take really moves me. I have been thinking about this poor girl since I have heard of her involvement in the case. It’s been quite easy for me to put myself in her shoes and I feel like what she experienced is one of my nightmares coming true. It’s terrible and upsetting to witness how people judge her. Your video was overdue and highly needed. Thank you ❤
I feel the same way about DM. I wish people would stop criticizing her for not calling 911 immediately. Even if she did it would not have saved the victims IMO. She is lucky to be alive. People also need to stop throwing out there that she knew BK and or she was involved. Thank you Andrea for all you do. I’ve been following you since the Depp trial. ❤
Exactly. The victims would not have survived even had she called 911 based on the coroners report of the wounds. The only person responsible here is the perpetrator full stop.
If we take her story as it is. She heard whispers crying and a scary guy. As far as I can tell, nothing loud enough or scary enough to believe a murder was talking place. Nothing unusual enough to investigate her roommates. With the little information she had at the time, I don't think I would have called 911. Hindsight adds a lot of context here.
@@stargazerkawaii Agreed, she was probably used to hearing activity in the house at odd hours, parties, 4am door dash, 5 other room mates coming and going.
@@stargazerkawaii Movies always taught me murders were louder than that and that’s my only experience with murders, thankfully. Idk who would get to the conclusion that those noises = murder when most of the time they don’t.
I love that you made this video. I will be sharing it. I have been saying to people being not to be harsh on her, that we need to pray DM survives this nightmare, all the hate and survivors guilt and be healthy enough to testify when the time comes.
Wow...thank you for explaining why DM's description led to probable cause. That is so helpful in getting a deeper insight and understanding. I have been watching your videos since the Johnny Depp case. So glad you are covering the Idaho murders!
As a 42 year old CPTSD bpd adhd ASD sa survivor with anorexia I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve literally switched off, froze and not processed something for days. No matter if it’s scary, good or bad news I can just freeze, rationalise and act completely normal until I can’t . I have sons older than poor Dylan and I can’t believe this is what we as a society are doing to each other. Thank you fellow Andrea
The trauma this poor girl has gone thru, and still going thru, will scar her for life. The amount of people attacking her is outrageous and quite sad. I wish the judge hadn't read her name in court.
Thank God for you and this video! I do hope DM gets to see / hear it. I cannot imagine what the poor girl is going through and detest the bashing she is getting from other sites. Thank you again.
I agree that this could also be a possibility. This was known as a party house and she may have been creeped out but thought nothing more of it. Either way, this poor girl doesn’t deserve the Monday morning quarterbacking that she is receiving.
This is most likely the explanation, not that she froze in terror for 6 hours. But questioning that she froze for that long is somehow disrespectful? I thought true crime was about asking questions and seeking the truth.
Thank you for using your platform to inform the public how special this roommate is. She needs to know we all support her. I just want to hug her and thank her too.
I truly hope DM and the other surviving roommate get the mental health support they need. Survivor’s guilt and PTSD is very difficult to cope with on your own. This traumatic event will be with them for the rest of their lives. I pray they both take care of themselves.
A lot of us, me included, “excuse” noises, or people around, and put our neg thoughts at the back of our minds, convincing ourselves we are being dramatic, and I guess in that kind of house there’d be a lot of drinking/crying/noise, they’re young and in college! I lived in a nurses hostel, I didn’t even know everyone there or what shifts they were on, let alone their visitors. I think those people criticising DM need to dial it down a notch or two, wait and hear what she has to say.
When one gets into terror, the body sort of shuts down to protect the body from a heart attack due to the strong heartbeats. It is possible she is the one the other roommate called 911 on due to not being able to wake her up, rather than it referring to the other victims. The person who called prob didn't wake up herself until way later in the morning, while DM was in static shock.
Thank you so much for doing this video. This poor girl has lived through the unimaginable and will never be free of this monster. Can we please help her with care instead of condemning her. I hope my daughter never has to go through this! Bless you DM 🌹
This here is why you are my favorite YT channel. You always see the full picture and really know how to explain things. My heart breaks for DM. Her mental health is what’s most important right now.
THANK YOU Andrea for making this video and that D.M. is the hero of the case. I still so clearly remember the horrific Bundy case at the Chi Omega house. At that time, we did not have all the electronics to assist in finding and tracking an individual, but in both cases of horror, we have to acknowledge that both this alleged killer and Bundy, no matter how intelligent they are, they could not control the compulsion to kill. So that is completely out of D.M.'s control and even if she could have immediately called 911 they were already gone, sadly. And, and you say, D.M. is the reason they were able to find him. I think it should also be noted that the Police and Investigative agencies really worked quickly. I really really really appreciate your teaching the youtube masses and defending this young woman.
Thank you for this video. She's been judged all over social media and I hope she eventually sees this video. She's a hero and now has a lot to deal with. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this viewpoint, Andrea. People make a lot of judgments when they KNOW what ended up happening. At the time she experienced this, she had no clue what was going on. I really sympathize with her for that. The fear she has continued to experience as being the one to identify him after encountering him in that hallway. I know she’ll have to answer questions around this, and I hope the pressure she’s encountered from people on SM hasn’t discouraged her from speaking up in court. I hope she has a strong support system around her.
Thank you for your compassion for DM and bringing to light that she helped law enforcement tremendously. I pray her to find peace and realize she contributed some of the most informative evidence of this horrible tragedy.
I feel very badly for D.M. for all the reasons you gave. I hope she has a good support system to deal with the criticism and help her get through the future trial. And same with the 6th room mate. I would be totally freaked out knowing my 4 friends were brutally murdered while I slept nearby and then saw their bodies. I look forward to your future video because IMHO the evidence looks very solid.
Andrea, I always come to you when an interesting or important case, opens up. The videos are not hours long, they're informative, & the way you speak on it is easy for the layman like me understands.
Thank you for your kindness and understanding towards DM, and for sharing your thoughts on her actions and the probable cause affidavit. I am so upset with the RUclips creators who are bashing her or allowing it.
Grateful to listen and learn from your eloquent analysis about DM. That even with the surprise in the moment - seeing a stranger wearing black, covering his face with a mask, walking through your house at those hours of the morning - DM was able to observe critical information. I can imagine she had shock, experienced denial or doubt about what just happened, feared the person could immediately turn around if they heard her. We do not know if HE saw her. Remaining quiet could have truly saved her life. Looking forward to your upcoming videos! Thank you!!!
Reading the circumstances I was able to figure out myself imo what order these crimes occurred. These crimes were so horrific it’s hard to fathom they occurred. I thank you so much for standing up for DM . I tried to do the same on several other sites mostly to no avail. Public opinion can be very cruel and I hope those that are accusatory will lighten up. I can only imagine what she is and will be going through for many years forward. Justice for Maddie, Kaylee, Ethan and Xana. 💝💝💝💝
Thank you Andrea for making this video……I’ve defended both DM and BF from the very beginning. So tired of people trashing and blaming them ……especially DM…… she’s traumatized for life (BF also) but I’m sick over this whole ordeal. I’m sure she/they feels some guilt. Survivors guilt. The murders are traumatic enough……I hope they find the help they need mentally and can live somewhat normal lives. ❣️
Thank you for this heartfelt video ! It made me emotional to listen to you and see that you certainly empathize with DM as much as I have been. This is a difficult subject to talk about regarding this case. This poor girl is going to battle with the demons relating to this night for a long long time. I hope she finds the peace she deserves 💛 Thank you for helping others understand this as well.
I can't convict anyone based on the description, so it's ridiculous to say that her description helped in anyway to catch the murderer. The police did it because he left DNA on scene!!!
Star witness acted like an accomplice. She was unhurt, even tho killer walked by her door 3 times. She did not render aide. She called friends to contaminate the crime scene. Most likely under the influence. She handed the defense reasonable doubt. You should know this.
Bless you Andrea! You never fail to impress! So happy you are covering and so happy to see you with duty Ron and as always… your truth and words of wisdom, experience and integrity resonates! She is a hero and we need people like you to voice this! Tysm Andrea for all you do you are amazing! ❤
Andrea - I have so much bloody respect for you for doing this for D.M. I have had a trauma in my life where i rationalize to protect myself. If i was her i would be in tears hearing you saying this. Thank you for doing this video for her!!
I am so glad you made this video! DM needs more people like you speaking out. Such trauma for all involved..it's just awful..thank you for being a voice of reason😊
Right from the start people were questioning why the roommates didn’t call the police until the morning and even back then I knew there would be a reasonable explanation, yet even now after she’s given one people are still blaming her, and making up ridiculous claims like saying she made a deal with the killer who spared her life, or was an accomplice, or didn’t care about her friends. She was asleep and woke up to the sound of crying and possibly screaming, sounds which aren’t entirely unusual for drunk college kids, sounds she’s probably heard a thousand times before in that house. I doubt she knew what had happened, was tired/sleepy, freaked out by the strange figure, so locked herself in her room and went back to bed. That’s all!
@@alyssabrown-carleton6173 I hope she doesn't have to testify. If she is recovering from one or more really significant stress episodes it would be best for her to stay in the background and just heal.
I don't understand why so many say this was an extremely stressful for D. Why? All she saw was a man in black with a mask on walking by her. She didn't see a knife, blood, and she didn't know all her friends had just been murdered. I can see this as being super weird for her but not extremely stressful. It's a dude in black with a now the norm mask on... However, AFTER she learns what happened and what she escaped from and survived?? At that point I can understand how this would be extremely stressful and a great deal more. I just don't agree with her being under EXTREME STRESS when she saw him. But I agree she's the key that locks his cage and I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through. I hope folks who are questioning her actions offer her a bit of grace along with those questions. As always THANK YOU for this and the fast turnaround on these videos. I can't wait to hear what strategies the defense might use.
There is NOTHING heroic about a sound and sight witness, that walks away, and goes back to sleep until noon. Heroism would have been dialing three numbers, 911. PERIOD!!!!

I honestly do not know how they will be able to sleep without someone else keeping watch and staying awake so they feel safe enough to sleep. How do you ever feel safe enough to sleep again in your own home? Any home? And that's just the beginning of the likely PTSD response they both will have. Very well stated.
In time, trauma focused therapy will help.
My thoughts also. I have said this to a number of people. If only others can understand this. People are so quick to point a finger. Those that feel they would have handled the situation so much better, hopefully will never have to find out.
You are so respectful. I can’t believe, you do not have more subscribers. Other law tubers have so much respect for you as well!♥️♥️
Yeah, that's how I found her. Critical Drinker >> Nick Rikieta >> Andrea Burkhart. Lucky us!
The more people see how excellent she is in explaining the law and identifying likely actions, the more they should be tempted to subscribe.
At this point, they should be very tempted :-0)
Why is everyone lauding Andrea. It’s a comment section on the content. Irs ridiculous.
People can't handle the truth!! Especially when it's told logically like Andrea does.
Appreciate you 'referring to her by her initials'. Appreciate your commentary.
@Joe Nierman Collection Co. Their inability to have a nuanced perspective actually hints to them being more likely to be one of the masses.
Add booze and well..here we are
I'm often confused by 'freezers' , my partner is one.
You are such a class act, Andrea. In a YT world of speculation and judgment, you bring facts, empathy and a new perspective. Well done!
Well said! Class act! She’s absolutely amazing… blessed to have her voice!
Well done Lisa
It is completely possible she saw this guy as creepy and scary but never imagined that he had just killed someone in the house.
Exactly. Even if she was scared, she probably saw people in and out of her house all the time and wouldn’t even think of murder! We don’t even know if she was sober.
That certainly wouldn't be my first thought!
Agree
Thank you for this. I hope DM can feel the support, prayers, and positive energy so many of us are sending her.
You are so right, I was one of those people that was questioning why it took so long for DM to call 911 but as always with your legal commentation, you always have such a beautiful way of saying it. you’re absolutely right she was traumatized. I can’t imagine going through that. So thank you for always being so kind ❤
Thank you, Andrea! You’re so amazing and compassionate!
Andrea, that was an amazing video! Very informative, enlightening and compassionate!! ❤
I am so grateful to see someone give her grace for her actions that night. I can't imagine the level of trauma and survivor's guilt she is experiencing right now.
Brilliantly said! Ppl saying “why didn’t she blah blah?” Or, “I would have done this, that or the other”. Until you are in a similar situation, none of us has any clue how we would react, and I hope non of us ever do
Andrea, you are so right here. This young lady is a hero! Thank you for your sensitivity in discussing her actions.
So terrifying for DM, not only during the attack, but subsequently as the murders were discovered, and the killer(who she witnessed) remained at large. Plus - he went back to the scene 4 hours later where it was clear no police were there yet. She deserves our thanks and our prayers.
🤣
I want to thank you for all that you said. I have a connection with her family, and knew this the next morning. What I was told by a family member was that she saw someone, felt uncomfortable. Went down stairs to BF room, was reassured by BF, and slept downstairs. In a quiet house. She had no idea, nor should she ever thought what happened did. She was not in shock, she was uncomfortable. It is so sad the many many horrible things that people have said about her and the 8 hours. It breaks my heart. She and BF both have had their lives changed for ever…
Also a special thank you to your followers for having heart and understanding for this young girl. It really means so much.
Where did you see all this info? Link?
I enjoyed her appearance on DutyRon as well
Thank you for acknowledging how horrendous this crime was
You are always my "go to" for unbiased and beyond knowledgeable information. Thank you for all that you do Andrea❤️
Thank you Andrea for your great insight again. Poor DM will need a lot of help to overcome how she must be feeling, she was not aware at the time of the tragedy that had taken place.
So there was nothing to report. All went silent.
Thanks for your video Andrea! can't imagine how terrifying that was for DM
Ummm...you just revealed her first name?
@@ZephaniahL Her name has already been revealed.
Judging from an interview of one of the parents, they don't blame this girl. I'm sure they know a lot more now than the public knows. From what I've read, this girl had suffered prior trauma in her life. Nobody knows how they'd act in this horrific situation. My heart breaks for this girl.
Why would they blame her.

My heart breaks for DM. I suspect it will be some time before she's able to find peace with this, but I pray that she finds it.
Love analysis as always. Thank you for showing this young woman the respect she so deserves.
It’s not only the description she provided. Without DM police would not have had a specific timeframe which helped to identify the car!
Great point.
It’s pure ignorance and it’s despicable. I hope she reads none of it!
You are delusional, no one is mad she didn’t call immediately she didn’t call for 8 hours. That’s the issue.
Thank you, Andrea, for your calm and thoughtful response to DM's role in this tragedy and your coverage in general. I look forward to any and all commentary you provide on every case you cover.
Thank you for supporting DM. I cannot imagine how she must be feeling right now. ❤. Remember DM is a survivor who did not commit any crime ❤

I’m from DutyRon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taken up for DM. Sending prayers and love to all the victims family’s (6).

Having lived in a " party house" at college, I can't say I would have called 911 either, crazy stuff happens, especially when everyone is drunk.

Favorite law channel. Straight to it. A smooth delivery of the information and not all wild and loud. You learn alot here! Love it.
I can't even imagine the amount of survivor guilt that DM has. That's just so much for someone her age to have to deal with.
No, she had locked her door so the roommate would not have had access to her unless she woke and unlocked her door.
I really appreciate your thoughtful approach when explaining these topics. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the heartful words. You reminded us that DM is a victim, and deserves our prayers and love.
Thank you so much for doing this video. This poor girl has lived through the unimaginable and will never be free of this monster. Can we please help her with care instead of condemning her. I hope my daughter never has to go through this! Bless you DM 🌹

Subbed! Thank god someone finally put into words what do many of us were feeling! Thank you.
Thank you for your sensitive comments about DM. She deserves our support and prayers. God bless her and you.

Thank you for putting this out. I would love to see this video go viral so more people can understand.
Reading the circumstances I was able to figure out myself imo what order these crimes occurred. These crimes were so horrific it’s hard to fathom they occurred.

That’s all!
I think she might have not been sober too. Idk. We probably won't know until/if she testifies
@@alyssabrown-carleton6173 I hope she doesn't have to testify. If she is recovering from one or more really significant stress episodes it would be best for her to stay in the background and just heal.
Thank you for your positive and gracious reporting.
I always appreciate your take. It’s a more thoughtful one and not a jump into the fire with no idea of all the facts approach. Thank you.
I'm so happy you made this video Andrea, thank you so much 💙
Your explanations are easy to understand and I appreciate your channel!
DM deserves our grace and compassion. Thank you for reminding us
I agree with you 100% she also has to testify in court and have Bryan starring at her the whole time, that would be just as terrifying for her.
There is NOTHING heroic about a sound and sight witness, that walks away, and goes back to sleep until noon. Heroism would have been dialing three numbers, 911. PERIOD!!!!
If she gets called to the stand though a defense lawyer could tear her testimony to shreds
