My Grandfather was tortured by the sights that he saw when he entered the Jewish camps as a driver for the army this I only recently found out from my Mom I cannot even begin to imagine the horrors...

I read the book when I was back in college. I've never seen the movie. But it looks really moving. Those poor people went through absolute hell. It was pure evil!!!

I read and watched the book/movie in class, fantastic, such an awesome plot!
I wouldn’t personally describe it as fantastic but a good way to make us aware of what was once in our world
I watched this in school and it was so good but i did have to step out of the class just because i needed to like take a break cause i realized tgis is a tempered down version of what really happened
my 5th grade teacher made my reading group consisting of 9 and 10 year olds watch this we were traumatized 10/10 movie and book

I read “My Bondage, My Freedom” by Frederic Douglas and understood I never fully comprehended the cruelties of a black slave’s life before the civil war.
So I agree. The visual medium of movies can help to make it more real. But not truly complete understanding of the depth of history.
The trailer didn't do the movie justice and the movie, even though it is a good movie, is nothing compared to the book

In the book it wasnt just Chaya and rachel rachel died before she could get there and there she was accopmanied by fennte. Ester and syhia, Also they didnt hang many people they chose to hang themselves actually when they could find rope. Im just going off the book not the movie.. so Yes.

If you have never seen it, don't prejudge the movie based on this horrible trailer. This is not the official trailer and it does not do this movie justice. I will tell you the premise without ruining anything. Basically, the protagonist is a Jew in modern times and she doesn't really care about anything to do with the Holocaust and it annoys her when her family brings it up and she basically blows it all off because it didn't happen to her and per her mentality, what's in the past should just stay in the past so people can just quit annoying her with old stories about things that weren't that bad. Even though her family tells her many times that the Holocaust is as much part of her as her relatives who died because of it and those who survived it, but she still doesn't care. She gives zero fucks about it. Then one day she wakes up and discovers she's stuck in some twilight zone type of mess where she is a Jew who is about to suffer the Holocaust.

this movie is from 1999. i never even heard of it. its even sadder to see brittany murphy, who passed on before she peaked. the trailer is riveting. i will read the book and watch the film. the jewish nation has been though so much - yet they persevere. a lot of americans think they have it bad....oh boo fucking hoo.

i have not seen it and it looks like shit, but the trailer and the comments leaves me with the feeling that you could make a movie where a guy takes a shit for 2 hours, and it would be great, and touching, as long as the toilet is located in one of the death camps in the 40's
