A beautiful revolver. I own a Ruger GP100 10-shot revolver with 3-point cylinder support and a 5.5 inch semi-lug barrel. Tyler Gun Works did my custom work and also tastefully engraved it. I love it and it’s my keeper.
Actually my wife kind of claimed one for herself. Now I'm waiting for the 3" version that is coming soon. Good things are happening at Colt under CZ ownership.@@fmgpubs
I just got one and shot it for the first time.... Double action is 9.5lbs, not bad for a rimfire. Single action is crisp, but a bit heavy at 5lb. I hope it gets a bit lighter with break in. Seems to be quite accurate although I didn't shoot it off a rest to see exactly how accurate/precise.... Love the way it looks, definitely a keeper.
I really want one of these with the 6" barrel, but unfortunately I have been on a few waiting lists for some time now with no luck. I just don't understand why Colt wants to introduce a product to the public and not make it available for sale! What gives with these people?
Nice looking 22. How about longevity? Would it stand up to the abuse of being a competition gun? I have a 617 that so far I've had to replace the cylinder hand.
That looks NIIIICE!!! I just bought a cheap .22 revolver...think I'm gonna trade it off and buy one of these. You just sold another gun, Roy! Now, what to do...4 1/4" or 6"??? No! Put the magnum cylinder in the cheap revolver and leave it, this one for .22LR. Now...4" or 6"???
I tend to favor 6” for general shooting. But if I were going to carry it in the field camping or something, I’d do the 4”. But hey … that’s just me! Roy
The Colt appealed to me as well. However, they’re just not available. Shame on Colt. Bottomline is I bought a S&W 617-4 at below MSRP. I’m very happy with it.
It doesn’t really matter on the .22 LR as it just doesn’t generate the pressures. Also in my experience, if you get some grit in the recess the rim can’t seat and it’s hard to get the grit out easily. With un-recessed chambers, you can just wipe it off with your thumb. Roy
@@fmgpubsyeah I’ve heard the non-recessed cylinders are better so they don’t get gunked up and affect the seating. I like the smooth end design that you can wipe down!
$1300 here on the west coast of Florida. Lame rear end sight. ( key that's not even supplied ! ) Not even nice wood grip. But it does come with a pretty blue plastic case. Again $1300.oo ! Ouch!
For the feature article I wrote, I shot several loads. But my favorite is CCI Mini-Mags, mostly because they are available and the HP loads work great on small game. If you’re really splitting hairs with accuracy it pays to shoot a cross-section through the gun you get as each gun, even of the same model, will favor different loads. Roy
Colt was an American giant. Too bad they digressed to the point they got bought out by CZ. They should be buying CZ. Should have been the other way around but our American government doesn't help corporations like other countries do. Here in the US, they try to shake them down.
I think there should be some distinction made between the old Colt and the new, foreign-owned company. I prefer to call the new guns "Czech-Colts". Although the 10-shot capacity may be appealing to many, I'd shell out double the money for a nice older, blued-steel 6-shot Diamondback without hesitation.
I've had one of the older Diamondbacks but confess this gun is every bit as nice. I think the CZ ownership has had a good effect on Colt quality these days. Just a few years ago they were a real crap shoot. Roy@@Caje-zf8md
I am glad Colt is back. That is a beautiful revolver.
Agreed, Earl. It’s just marvelous. Roy
@@fmgpubsThe Pony Express finally delivered some to Wyoming and I was able to finally get one. Very nice indeed, as are your reviews.
Colt hit a home run ! I own an original Trooper in 22lr, great action. Thanks for a great review

Bobby’s team does great work, for sure. Now it’s time to start saving for this Colt! Roy
I’d love to see the engraving job! How much did it cost you to get it engraved?
I like mine so much I bought a two. Nice review as per usual.
Gosh, a two-fer. Now you need a double gun rig to wear! Roy

Waiting on my 6" Cobra. I thought they only came in 4" but one popped up on a favorite order site I use so I jumped on it !! Great vid....
When I reviewed this one Colt only listed the 4” but I had heard a 6” was coming. I think that’s a better barrel length for sure. Roy

Excellent review and presentation. Now I really want one of these. 😊
They are awfully nice .. Roy
Quick and clean. Great video!
Thanks Ryan. It sure is a nice gun, for sure. Roy
Roy,
Beautiful revolver and you get what you pay for ! You just have to see what ammo it likes best . Larry H......
Indeed, that’s half of the fun with a .22, experimenting. I was very impressed by this gun. Roy

You and me both.
I just got the 4 inch barrel today. I haven’t seen the 6” barrel here yet!
@@Doriamo I got a feeling Colt is focused on making the 4.25 model right now. My hope is they will be making the 6" model very soon
@@Smooththatsme my local gun store gets in a lot of wheel guns so I’ll let you know if/when I see any six inch models here.
@@Doriamo Thank you. I would very much appreciate that! I really want the opportunity to get one with that 6" barrel.

Just sent mine back, shot shells getting stuck in the cylinder and gotta tap/push them out. No issues whatsoever with my Python & Anaconda
Did you try different ammo, Brian? On my test gun, I found one or two “bulk” ammo brands to have softer cases were were a bit sticky to eject. Roy
...just saw that Colt has released a BLUED Python!!!
I agree. Bravo! Roy

Like to see a 22 mag xerdoin. Just bought a sw 648.
I’m guessing the .22 Mag version will be up soon … Roy
Colt King Cobra Target 22 or S&W 617? Decisions decisions.
That’s easy … both. Roy
@@fmgpubs Lol . If only I could con the wife!
Not a big gun person, here. Does the handle have to be that ergly? Self defense? That's some pretty decent shooting, Mr. Old Guy Like I AM!
I agree on the grips and think nice wood ones would really make things look good. We old guys can shoot sometimes, eh? Roy
It would have been better if the cylinder was recessed for the rim cartridge like the S&W 617
