First time seeing one of your videos mate. Really, really good. a) Fit b) Take the ship out (solo) c) Apply it in fight situations (still solo) d) narrate the thoughts behind the approaches to the fights. Very informative and insightful. Will take time away from ingame time to watch and listen. Don't know a better compliment to give, eh? :)
haha cool to find me in that clip :) knew you would kill me in the keres in the first place. PS: i was really up for the 1on1 on the next day with the rook... but you know... the blueball follows you everywhere
What were those screenshots that kept popping up in your browser? Also, doesn't the sabre get an aggression timer if you try to warp in its bubble and it fails? Thus he can't jump gate?
I like it, because of it's speeds, but I hardly ever get kills with it, although maybe because I'm not very good at nullsec pvp. It's nice though because you can split up gangs fairly well, for instance I was in a stabber vs. like a 4 man T3D gang, burned away with mwd, and got a Hecate before the rest caught up. Traded him for my stabber in the face of 4 T3D, so not too bad. If you split up your neuts, so that they're more off to the side, like gun-neut-gun-gun-neut-gun, wouldn't that help overheating more?
Good god. Balance the stabber please. I've long tried hard to EFT warrior viable fits for the stabber and like you said, it just doesn't compare. I don't understand why nothing has been done about it's current sad state, it's such a fitting ship for my playstyle.
Why can you fit Large shield externders? Can't the stabber normally only fit medium ones? Also, the 50W Infectious is not in the game anymore, right? (Trying to copy this fit atm)
Suitonia, what do you think of Chessur's fit he used in his Stabber video (2 RLMLs instead of Neuts and long point)? Is it still viable in the T3D Meta or is the engagability just different?
+Blood Ruin (TheBloodRaid) I have not looked at armor fits for a significant time, but found them to be lacking initially, hard to do anything with 4 lows and the worst PG of all cruisers.
I have the same general fit on a Gnosis with a 100mn AB (801.56m/s), the 6 6 and 6 slots + a 75 m3 drone bay 5 T2 hobs 5 T2 hammers gives more options and warps in 2.78 sec cap stable 600.6 dps
Great Video even though 14 mnths old...I'm returning to eve so very rusty and looking for cheap ship that i can roam 0.0 and get PvP confidence back...think this is still a good ship for me to jump into and loose a few whilst brushing the cobwebs off :)
I just got an idea. What if you had a fleet of people with your experience. You could just go to systems as freelancers and destroy everything in your path for fun.
You're an oracle, do a eve-uni lecture or two. I'm a 1.5mil SP character and a lot of this doesn't go in my head on first listen but slowly it does and your videos will reveal more and more to me as I learn the game. Good job. Keep it up bud. what's your twitch url?
Stabber is fine I take it into T3-T4 abyssal all the time I don't have any real problems. It just means you have to be acutely aware of what you're doing in there as you have no room for error. .
+Gunnaras Grinkevicius I hope you're refering to the faster-moving T3D and not any of the T1 Destroyers. If you're getting merced by t1...it might be your piloting and understanding of the stabber.
i,m mentioning t3d ofc. then again. a catalyst that gets in range fast can be trouble if you are not paying attention/dont have neuts :p havent played eve for a year now and every time i log in i see new overpowered stuff that everyone prefers to fly. like t3d right now.. its kinda sad becouse before rebalancing began there was much bigger variation of ships you would encounter..
The Stabber is very competetive given the pilot is competent. It's rewarding to small gang and solo pilots, but there are things required for this ship in particular to work. You need to have optimal skillpoints to use any ship effectively, you need to step outside of the brawler's optimal/scram range box and learn how to fight at falloff/disruptor ranges in sustained fights, how to avoid a slingshot maneuver and recognizing when those maneuvers are happening, and you need to make good decisions. Don't do any one of those things, and this ship will not serve you well. It rewards good skirmish piloting, plain and simple. Generally, I think this ship doesn't do well in the hands of newer pilots, or pilots that have been around for years who don't do a lot of solo/small gang pvp (F1 Monkeys), which gives it the stigma that it sucks. No, that's not the case - the pilots themselves are just not well versed in flying it.
+Michael Miceli The Problem is the RLML Caracal out-damages it at all ranges, with perfect application and more EHP. (RLMLs are currently overpowered and have rendered a lot of attack-cruisers and high damage high mobility cruisers obsolete). There is no way the Stabber is better in any direct combat stats aside from being 500m/s faster, I love mobility and value it a lot higher than other people I think, but I feel like I am validated in my opinion of the Stabber being obsolete.
+eveiseasy It's true that it can struggle against a caracal pilot with optimal SP. Where it does out-perform the Caracal though, is not having a ridiculously long reload time. In that sense the 220mm Vulcan stabber does better sustained DPS, making it better against multiple targets (of course depending on what the targets are.) So to me, it just depends. I haven't really seen many decent caracal pilots either, in solo, small gang, or large fleet, so my opinion might be biased lol.
+eveiseasy personally, I've found the stabber against targets that can self-rep far more optimal than a caracal who generally loses all its application after the 19th volley. Although the volleys are high, with the reload applied to the DPS you're only getting hardly 300 dps sustained. But you're definitely right in terms of application. The volleys do apply better than stabber falloff shots, but I prefer the stabber for solo. It's just how you apply the ship in my opinion. I use a 220mm Vulcan Stabber with neuts, 50mwd cold-gas, 1 LSE, cap booster, disruptor, DCII, x2 gyrox1tracking enhance, x3 core defense.
Excellent video, Mate! Keep good stuff like this comming!

Loved it, and rip the old cane :( but whaoo, inb4 ccp and the new BC rebalance! any thoughts? Fleet cane looks super tastey
Perhaps that's the hidden stabber bonus, +100% enemy balls for taking the fight regardless of what they're flying.
What were those screenshots that kept popping up in your browser?

+Bíg Boss it doesnt, afaik

+Kahitar 50w Infectious got renamed to Gremlin Compact or Infectious Scoped I think
+eveiseasy Medium infectious Scoped
You make this look a lot easier than I can seem to manage. Whats the biggest PVP thing that players seem to miss that helps?
What program gives you the red circle graphic when you click in space?
+WORLDCRUSHER9000 Bandicam
What about a lasb & invul fit?
Suitonia, what do you think of Chessur's fit he used in his Stabber video (2 RLMLs instead of Neuts and long point)? Is it still viable in the T3D Meta or is the engagability just different?
+YoinkinatorX You can use Chessur's fit too, I just think this fit has better chances of killing T3Ds etc.
have you looked at active armor fits? i think they could be very competitive in the current meta.
great vid as always :) o7
+Blood Ruin (TheBloodRaid) I have not looked at armor fits for a significant time, but found them to be lacking initially, hard to do anything with 4 lows and the worst PG of all cruisers.
eveiseasy true. I think the real key it taking advantage of the 2 utility highs in order to limit t3ds. the dps is very lacking tho :(
Awesome Video! What do you use to edit?
+TJ C Sony Vegas Pro, although I'm not actually any good at video editing.
I have the same general fit on a Gnosis with a 100mn AB (801.56m/s), the 6 6 and 6 slots + a 75 m3 drone bay 5 T2 hobs 5 T2 hammers gives more options and warps in 2.78 sec cap stable 600.6 dps
Am new to EVE and just bought Stabber and am little discuraged know lol! what cruiser do you suggest instead?
Am an alpha clone so I can`t take them :/
+Nyctophiliac Angel. yeah I realised that am probably gona do that in a few days
thanks m8

How many Stabbers died making this video? :)
+dwcalex 8
I've always said the stabber is a damn good frigate. Shame it has such a large sig
11 minutes and you still haven't undocked. Less talk, more rock !
+csw4ak I would rather have him fully explain the fit and have the option of skipping forward than not explaining and going straight to the fight.
Stabber is fine I take it into T3-T4 abyssal all the time I don't have any real problems. It just means you have to be acutely aware of what you're doing in there as you have no room for error. .
They have buffed the stabber since this vid .
B4 the stabber nerf it was a rather capable cruiser... now it dies to destroyers
.-... somebody fix eve please
+Gunnaras Grinkevicius The Stabber has never been nerfed, ever, in eve. It has only been boosted. (It still needs help though)
+eveiseasy sorry my bad i was thinking of rupture.. but still tho with recent buffs to shield missile ships. stabber is left for killing frigates,
+Gunnaras Grinkevicius I hope you're refering to the faster-moving T3D and not any of the T1 Destroyers. If you're getting merced by t1...it might be your piloting and understanding of the stabber.

nemesis used kinetic torps...
+Jannik Glückert yeah, I noticed that too, and the rage/javelin split was weird
eveiseasy Rage wont even apply 100% against BS... But hey, ive Seen chimeras use warriors against battlecruisers
Why do you call Thorax "Forex"?
Just won the AT and is still using low meta modules, smh
+Daniel Smith I won the AT, other people haven't though, so still worth mentioning ;)
