  • This elevator was located inside a glass-walled vestibule at the southern end of the podium near the office tower, and linked the upper ground floor of the shopping boulevard with the surface parking adjacent to the west retail entrance. It was identical to the main passenger elevator at the shopping boulevard atrium, except for a few differences in fixtures: it had vandal-resistant buttons instead of black plastic ones on the COP, while the hall lanterns were of regular acrylic type instead of the custom variety used in the main elevator. It also featured a four-stage hall chime, of which not that many instances are known, at least on the top landing. It ran in pretty much the same way as the main elevator, with a very good ride quality with relatively smooth leveling. For some reason, the bottom and top landings were labelled as simply "G" and "1" rather than "LL" and "UL," departing from the floor numbering scheme used elsewhere in the development.

A gold-plated version of this is found in the Burj Al Arab hotel, which used to link the upper lobby with the seafood restaurant on the ground floor. Unfortunately, that one's been put out of service since they moved the restaurant entrance to the ground floor next to the port-cochere and turned the former restaurant reception into a concierge counter...

@@markselevatorsandetc.937 The Esplanade used to have that kind of shaft too till it got replaced by a regular square one. W Hotel Sentosa Cove, Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Expo MRT have that kind of shaft too, plus Apple Store Marina Bay Sands has a non-glass variant as well.
