2015 Jaguar F-Type R. Can be had all day in the mid $40k's. Im kinda surprised they havent picked one for one of these in a challenge.
That's a great one for sure.
I have a few more ideas for you:
The best car never to be featured on a C/D cover
What cars did C/D get the most wrong ?
The best 70s custom van. Period correct or restro mod categories
The best car that could be on the cover of Car Craft circa 1990-94?
The best corvettes ready for racing
The best cheap super car
If Smokey and the Bandit were remade today (and for some reason we couldn’t get Coors on the east coast again), what contemporary car would the Bandit drive in 2023?
If you were to open a niche used car dealer, what your theme be and which would be your first 3 cars on the lot?
Love it! Going on the list.
Next car challenge. The car with most beautiful headlight/The car with the most beautiful taillight.
I drove an RS4 Cab from Turo through the Blue Ridge Mountains a while back. Excellent excellent sound, plus manual!
Agree on the C63 but all the the M156 installed cars sing an astonishing aria.
Pearly is right - the v12 in the jag is a great sounding engine when it's well maintained and tuned
Can’t believe there weren’t any V10s! What about the S85 in the E60/63 M5 and M6???
Fox Body 5.0 H.O. With Flowmaster Original 40s and an H-Pipe
A 5.0. Closely followed by a tuned Pontiac 400
Best sounding sub $50k car would probably be a last generation Maserati Quattroporte in my opinion. They sound so warm and dark at the same time!
From the cars you picked my choice would be the RS4!
I would've thought that someone would've picked a Hemi ScatPack of some kind for less than $50K....would have to be more reliable and tuneable than anything else on this list.
I've heard that Alcantara is intended for racing applications and only to be used with gloves. With like-to-like surface contact, it minimizes slip during extreme gripping conditions.
Clicked on this expecting a W204 C63... Not disappointed.
The best sounding car I ever filmed without budget limit was Apollo. INSANE!
So glad to see you guys back! You should do what car you'd like to be made into a Presidential Limousine if you were elected.
A 2008 E63 Amg with Renntech headers & Xpipe. The owner paid $40k😅
Best sounding car is a SAAB 2 stroke. Unbelievable noise for so little movement.
Can I get a 5 cylinder Audi TTRS under $50K? That would be my pick. That car's exhaust note is glorious, especially when paired with the right aftermarket exhaust. Wasn't this engine also shared with a RS3 model?
God, I love these episodes. As a GT350 owner, I'm a bit bias.. Gen2 engines (19-20) have been holding up well without the consumption of the 2015-2018 Gen 1's. Even these are debated to be hit/miss on consumption issues, but Ford says this engine can consume up to 1 quart every 500 miles. Many owners have a religious warm up/cool down process to help preserve this engine. I think we will see the surviving cars sky rocket in the next 20 years because of how rare and unique the design and how great (overall) this flavor of mustang is... and they sound as great as anything with 4 wheels. I will never sell this car and is going to my first born when I croak. And a consideration for a future episode. the last dance. the final car you choose to celebrate you home (ie death). Would love to see this episode.
Love all of these and no surprise that V-8's are well represented. Comparing apples to green beans I love the sound of a Yamaha R1 with aftermarket exhaust. The thing is to get a great sounding car you need to spend so much $$ but a new R1 is like $18,000
The Ferrari 365 “Daytona” spyder in Gumball Rally when it hits the streets of NYC @ 6:00:30, according to the Longines timing piece.
Definitely not in the spirit of this change, but my new favorite exhaust sound clip on all of RUclips is… _1965 GT350R Mustang tribute track car, 347 with an 8 into 1 Header_
F1 sounds on stoked 302/5.0 budget. *Some* fabrication required.
Grey Market 1986 Porsche 930. I owned one and it still is to date the best sounding car I have ever heard
1986 Chevy Cavalier z24 sounded amazing for the 1980's
I'm 2 months late, but there's only one answer and it's a Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale. You might not want to own one, but they're incredible to listen to
That fox from Cammisa’s recent video, or basically any 5.0 lx fox with headers and a little bit of cam.
Love the RS4 V8, best RS4 ever
_I like the sound of the 2v 4.6L mod engines._
The material engineering dean at my university back in the day drives a RS4 like that and parks out front. Always made me stop and stare when he drives away....
Alfa Romeo 4 cylinder from a GTV (1972).
Alfa Romero GTV6
An RB440 sounds good doing anything.
Voodoo hands down
For that cheap I think a V6 would be the best sounding. V8 sound cool and I love and own them but BEST sounding they are not. V10 and V12 are where it’s at, but for $50k your not getting a good one. Busso V6, VW VR6, cosworth Ford V6’s, Ferrari V6’s, even Honda and Toyotas V6’s sound good, pretty much anything but a VQ
Smh... what a unintelligent thing to type
Quitest car under $50k 💫

Nobody said an E6X M5/6
Jaguar F-type V6 blows all the above away with a stock exhaust....it is now in the 30-40k price point....just fyi. Pre-facelift for the win...better looking, sounding, and pricing.
K20z powered anything
Fox body 5.0.
The best sounding under 50k is the 5.0L BMW V-10 2006+ m5/m6
LFA is the best sounding
Is the competition “the best sound sounding car” or “the best car that sounds good” ? Winner depends on how you interpret the challenge
I believe it’s unambiguously the former
.. and Where are the sounds ?!
Everyone watching this remembers when TVs had to warm up.
I had such high expections when I saw this drop. I only buy cars based on their sound. In the 90s the M50 BMW was terbine smooth to rival any Ferrari or Lambo V12. It was and still is That good.
Great topic but SMH at some of the choices. I love muscle cars but the Ford sounds best. Always has and has yet to be defeated IMO. Oh, my nostalgia told me this is the best? What, we're stage 5 clinging virgins now?
However, how many cars of your choices were scientifically proven aphrodisiacs!? ZERO. One does exist though.
Moving on, no real conversation amongst car ppl about the sound an engine makes is complete without a debate about induction noise. Besides the RS4 none had a proper induction howl. The W204 C63, sounds good but slightly flatulant and never sounded better than an E92 M3. Never, ever, ever.
The winners in this price bracket should be either an N/A V8 M3, QP5 Maserati , E39 M5 or a Ferrari F355. End of story. Thats the list of stock powerplants within the price bracket.
Why didn't anyone nominate a Tesla forgodsakes.
You guys got this wrong.
So you guys are a media company and you published a video about car sounds without including the sounds of your choices?
Thanks for the helpful comment. Video abort!
Vipers sound like UPS trucks. Sorry not sorry. Meh.
2022 Tesla Model 3
_Nice choice Karen._

This is lame. No flat-6 Porsches and no VR6. Noobs.
A six cylinder compared to a gt350, rs4, 6.2 c63? Noob.
In all seriousness there's a clear theme among all of these choices
_R32?_
