You helped me realize why I watch so many hoarders video. I didn’t grow up in a hoarding situation but I have hoarding tendencies. These type of tv programs have helped me resolve my issues. The best part of the tv show is the end when everything is cleaned up.
Theodora is amazing! Ready for and receptive to therapy, has insight into the connection between her mother's alcoholism and her hoarding (not an easy jump for many people, though it may seem obvious to outsiders), is prepared to move on and realize her better self. Wishing her ALL THE BEST IN LIFE because she deserves it after dealing so well with the hand she was dealt. :)

when watching these, I always throw away a lot of my stuff without feeling guilty of wasting.. because as Stelios has said, isn't it already wasted? Of course, I sell some and I try to donate to others, but I will throw it away too.. I've watched few episodes this week, and got rid of 5 full black bin bags of clothes, body care products, kitchen stuff... and I don't have a lot.. but it feels so good

I remember Theadora from Life Laundry. What a sweet and talented woman. I hope she has been able to continue to find happiness and healing after so much trauma. So strong and courageous.
Not shocked that Graeme is divorced. Poor Theodora has had so much trauma in her life. It’s sad she didn’t get some intense mental health treatment earlier. Wonderful to see her moving forward and get to enjoy a better future with her family. She was so brave to be willing to see and admit her similarities with her mother. If she loves reading then an eReader is great (you can even use them for library books). Graham strikes me as controlling and somewhat manipulative - he won’t change because he blames everyone else for his problems. He will have that filled back up in no time.
Theodora is absolutely lovely. Her receptance to the therapy was amazing and she seemed like a different woman.. i really hope she kept up she seemed wonderfull
So glad someone finally said it. This reminds me so much of a family living with addiction. It is a family disease. The children suffer most of all. Feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, out of control, fear, shame, embarrassment, humiliation, neglect, threats to safety, health, and on and on.... yep, it's all there.
What a contrast between the two. Woman reconnects with herself and recovers to who she should be, smug man who knows everything, without an ounce of self-reflection on how he came to be on a TV-show or why his daughter views his problem the way she does, gets uppety about someone suggesting psychology has something to do with it. Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy? It seems as though he'd be the one who'd answer he'd want to be right.
I literally asked that of someone recently: "Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?" Immediately his wife said, "I don't think he can be happy if he's not right," to which he agreed. Fortunately he's not a hoarder or anything! But I think it can be more difficult for men than for us women. . .
Watching this, I just looked around and tossed old makeup, took a picture of something great but needed to toss, and found a home for a new lipstick. I like this show a lot more than my American counterparts, it seems much more sympathetic.

The other books are one-offs. I keep open areas for bookends and collectibles or knick knacks. If I buy a new book I must have space for that book on the shelf or I have to get rid of a book in order for the new book to remain. I donate my old books to the library or other organizations so that other people can enjoy them, too. I see it as a gift to others to donate my well loved and no longer needed book. If I have a need for sentiments I can take a picture of that item so I have it to look back on. I can also make notes about a book that I have read, why I liked it, what inspired me, etc. These things help me to love my things and not become a hoarder like my mom was. I love books. I love stuff. All kinds of stuff!! I could collect a millions of things but I choose not to so that I can enjoy what I currently have and just live day-to-day life without having too much to overwhelm me. I always seem to have things to donate and that's okay. New comes in and the old stuff goes out. It's the way of life. And we have to accept that. Also, by not collecting all the things, you can enjoy other people's homes and their collections. The internet is now a great resource for learning and reading everything!! Seeing all kinds of pictures from all over the entire Earth. Books on Kindle can keep you from creating a hoard or being bombarded by a hoard. You just have to make the decision to say I can let go. I can let go because I'm not going to be here forever and as my time is limited I should enjoy all that I have while I'm here. I can let go because the rest of what I don't use can go to someone who can use it. I would like my items to remain in good condition until it is passed along to someone else. So I have to be able to keep my things and my spaces clean and maintained. I will not neglect my family, my responsibilities, my own life for the sake of my stuff. I can let go because I refuse to have so many things that overwhelm my family after I pass away. I can let go because when I look at my things they make me happy. I can let go because I want my family and friends to look at my things and it brings them happiness peace and fond memories. And if it does none of these things.... It has to leave. My heart goes out to Theodorea. Her art ability is absolutely wonderful. I love how she realized ahe wasn't an alcoholic but her way of clutter was just as bad. To see her children so happy is wonderful.
I'm so curious about Graham's guitar collection. From what I could see, he had quite a few that are valuable. He could easily sell off most, given condition, and keep the ones he doesn't wish to part with.
Hehe ... I have some "hoarding tendencies" as well (as my family has!), concerning books, articles and newspapers. When I was a teen, I could not let go ... but technological progress aids me: nowadays, I store everything on portable storage media. No one ever gets that I am affected. - I know that this is just an "hands-on-approach" to some hoarding tendencies ... but for me this really works out, and I guess I am not (all) alone.
"The most important thing in my life really is my children. Family life." - Graham (hoarder) I am sure my father felt the same way. My father was a hoarder, and he did pass away a heart attack (age 79) December 2022 in his hoard. It has been such a challenge for me and my sister. His home and yard looked very similar to every hoarder. After cleaning out everything in his home, we were left with worthless items outside that was either thrown in the trash or donated for free. We were left with an unmaintained shell of a home.
he grew up in an environment where fighting as a married couple was normal for him. so he figured, it would be the same for him, he said well im gonna have this row with my wife because thats what my parents did and they're still married. he doesn't accept responsibility for his actions and the consequences that rose from that. he doesn't understand why they divorced instead of pushing through their marriage and that's sad. you may love someone but that doesn't mean they can't get fed up with you sir. he doesn't admit his faults. and he's frankly, not a good person.
Yes I agree, a far more compassionate approach than the American way. I also wonder if treating the underlying mental health issues wouldn't be helpful?
For Graham's daughter to have cleared earlier and it's back to cluttered, disheartening. He has alot of cardboard cases. Just throw away. Graham is very, very annoying. I would walk out.
All of those people who express their disgust at their loved one's so called inability to "choose" their family or friends above their hoard ought to thank their lucky stars that they themselves are not the poor folks who in the commenter's opinion have "chosen" to have a mental illness. Thank God for people who love others in spite of their affliction. Hopefully one day they will come to realize that they are part of the problem instead of the cure.
is it just me or do the "after" rooms still look very cluttered? I mean, an improvement from the hoard but still. Even the "after" houses would make me uncomfortable.
I am always happy that they get the help that they need and hope that all the people are getting a better life and their families are happy now with the process 😊
Yes Graham you are in denial. The only way you can fix a problem is admitting that you have a problem. And to say you have a storage problem not a hoarding problem is your way of rationalizing the irrational. Hoarders fill up whatever space they have, whether it be 2 rooms or 20.
I think that this show is great u have a Dr who actually works with u and I think it's good that he gives them little tasks to do and the other Dr the lady that helps deep down inside bring out all the mess is great. I watch hording from where I live in USA iys a great show they have therapist there with cleaning crew but this show the ppl do it themselves if the two organizers are not there. I think it's good in a way but maybe it could help to have that bigger clean team to help the older ppl.great show the dr and two ladies are just amazing
I feel sorry for Graham. I haven't watched the whole episode yet, but it seems that the insistence on sticking to the therapy first, declutter later formula isn't suited to his kind of macho personality. He might do better in a men's support group for hoarders (if there were such a thing) or an approach that let him gradually gain some insight while the decluttering is going on, and also let him be more in charge. When his daughter and grandson were there trying to declutter the kitchen with him, it was painfully obvious from the get go that it would fail.
@@roselee4445 I agree with you on the love for books over digital, but if you can't store them, then it's a no-no. I know I got rid of a lot of them and only kept the really valuable (to me) ones.
It seems so easy from the outside looking in to understand the wasted money and space in having 10 frying pans and 30+guitars. With half the guitars gone he could let his grandson stay over night. Wonder what happened with the awful garden space hoard. Only a matter of time before council pits their foot down. He should not be sent further help cleaning his hoard unless be accepts counseling and that he is a hoarder.. I feel terrible for the family of Grahams. He is indeed very self centered and not in touch with reality. I surely hope he finds the opportunity to get proper assistance. Theadora is such a talented, beautiful woman. So happy for her and her new life unburdend from past trauma.
If I grew up with a father that was a boxer that would swing on me randomly full power, I’d probably end up like Graham too. While it’s always super frustrating to watch people be so resistant, remembering how they became that way really does put the disorder into perspective and make sense. I could also completely understand someone becoming a hoarder when they grew up in wealth and then became homeless when the house they were living in was sold, I could absolutely understand why that would make you keep everything you get from them on. Trauma is so crazy what it can do to the brain
My husband is a hoarder. He wants me to consider if I am maybe the problem. He believes trying to get rid of stuff unneeded unused or broken is not normal. I have a problem!,
You can’t save them all. At 48 Graham had a heart attack and he eats expired food. What a nightmare it will be for his loved ones when they have to go through his hoard after he passes. Hopefully his body isn’t discovered weeks after his death like what happened to a neighbour of mine. His
I have now watched 7 or 8 of these English shows about - English hoarders. I can't help but notice a common thread in all of them: the hoarders are all wealthy. I don't mean Rockefeller/Rothschild rich - but rich enough. They own real estate in the greater London area or the south of England - which means they have a net worth of at least $1 million (USD). They don't have to work; they don't have to face up to life; they don't have to pull themselves together. Others in this circumstance slip into alcohol, drugs and daily dissipation; here, they slip into hoarding. I've seen one other American show on hoarding; the circumstances were the same.
yeah, ive noticed this too. not sure if it was this show or another, but it featured shopping addicts and hoarders and the people featured were all very wealthy millionaires. bentleys, mercedes, mansions, multiple properties, unlimited spending budgets...these people seemed to just want to be on tv. aside from shopping being a bad habit, there was no repercussions or a reason for them to have to stop. they certainly weren't being effected by it in their daily lives..
@@jamnbryan1 Yeah, gotta have money to spend it on stuff to keep. Though you can find poor hoarders (their hoarding is mostly trash and very cheap items in poor houses they may or may not own, I met some irl) my suspicion is that it's mostly a rich people's problem.
@@thycaltrist Hoarding can happen no matter the income or situation, it's not always about spending a lot, there are various ways people acquire different kinds of stuff, along with the inability to get rid of stuff
Wait. A DOCTOR knew he was living like that and didn't report it? I thought the UK had a legal obligation to report unsafe living conditions for people? You can't compare hoarding bits and bobs to storing food like a squirrel mate. I fully support people stockpiling a few extra months of food or water etc cause you never know..but this..yeah your making an excuse by saying "no one would complain if I was a squirrel." You AREN'T. So stop the analogies aka excuse.
It's too bad we never saw the empty backyard/🐸 if it was empty??????? This was a therapeutic show more so than the average, but it's too bad we never see items being auctioned off and bank accounts increasing in size. 👶🤖😆
Ambidextrous people rise UP! Lol.. I wonder what the doctor would say that this means about me that I can write both my feelings and answers to those feelings with both hands (?)
If something is for sale or something is a real deal it’s usually because no one else wanted it and so why would I? When I go in stores and see sale racks I go in the other direction. But then I only go in stores to buy the one item I am needing and have never felt the desire to pick up and carry more out of the store. I’m glad the rest of the world isn’t like me or we wouldn’t have a very good economy. In all the things the hoarders buy, at some level they’re just keeping things circulating in the economy .---of course living like that would drive me crazy, or should I say crazier than I already am but I’m much more of a minimalist.

And I say good bye. 👋 I make sure the item leaves my home within 3 days. If you set a time limit you will find it helps you to stay on task and focused. And most importantly....If you need help ASK SOMEONE. 💜🙏💖
I couldn’t watch Graham in the end & just stuck with Theodora. What a sweetheart 💝
I think Theodora needs a kindle
I wish they would make more episodes of this. British hoarder shows are so much better than the American ones.
My heart goes out to Theodorea. Her art ability is absolutely wonderful. I love how she realized ahe wasn't an alcoholic but her way of clutter was just as bad. To see her children so happy is wonderful.
I'm DYING!! Everything AND a kitchen sink!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Graham's comedy just writes itself!!!!
That man in insufferable.
I'm so curious about Graham's guitar collection. From what I could see, he had quite a few that are valuable. He could easily sell off most, given condition, and keep the ones he doesn't wish to part with.
I would be so happy to get one of those guitars.
Well but that's the problem. He doesn't want to part with any of them ;)
Thank you, love this show.
Hehe ... I have some "hoarding tendencies" as well (as my family has!), concerning books, articles and newspapers. When I was a teen, I could not let go ... but technological progress aids me: nowadays, I store everything on portable storage media. No one ever gets that I am affected. -
I know that this is just an "hands-on-approach" to some hoarding tendencies ... but for me this really works out, and I guess I am not (all) alone.
"Do you want psychological help?"
"I didn't till you get here"
Lmaoo this was so funny to me
got
The estate Theodore was to inherent was magnificent. Sad
Graham is so selfish and self centered. If he loved his kids he would make the effort.
I really admire Stelios and everyone like him. I would never have the patience and empathy he has, even though I used to be a messie myself.
he grew up in an environment where fighting as a married couple was normal for him. so he figured, it would be the same for him, he said well im gonna have this row with my wife because thats what my parents did and they're still married. he doesn't accept responsibility for his actions and the consequences that rose from that. he doesn't understand why they divorced instead of pushing through their marriage and that's sad. you may love someone but that doesn't mean they can't get fed up with you sir. he doesn't admit his faults. and he's frankly, not a good person.
Love the English hoardings! Therapy first seems to be key. The genetic component seems to be a key piece for healing.
Yes I agree, a far more compassionate approach than the American way. I also wonder if treating the underlying mental health issues wouldn't be helpful?
Stellios, Allison, and Zoey. What a team!
For Graham's daughter to have cleared earlier and it's back to cluttered, disheartening. He has alot of cardboard cases. Just throw away. Graham is very, very annoying. I would walk out.
The music is brilliant too!
Classic hoarders response : "It's not a hoarding problem, it's a storage problem". As Suze Orman says "People first, then money then things"
I do have a storage problem though. Lol. Legit.
@@amylee3531 :)
But Suze Omran is a con woman. She cheated her way up without care of the people she use to get rich. Check a RUclips vidéo on her sleazy behavior.
There is no way I would eat any food he prepared.
I give Graham a week b4 it all turns to custard..
Love the way stelios dresses
is it just me or do the "after" rooms still look very cluttered? I mean, an improvement from the hoard but still. Even the "after" houses would make me uncomfortable.
They still look a bit cluttered to me, too. My house has less stuff than the "after" pictures, but I still want to get rid of more things.
I love Theodora and really feel for her🥰
I adore little Oscars room. I would gladly have that room myself ❤
I love that name Stelios.
It's good, isn't it? :D If I have a male puppy I'm definitely naming him Stelios :D
I am always happy that they get the help that they need and hope that all the people are getting a better life and their families are happy now with the process 😊
Bags of the queen mother . Awesome
Graham King of de Nile
Yes Graham you are in denial. The only way you can fix a problem is admitting that you have a problem. And to say you have a storage problem not a hoarding problem is your way of rationalizing the irrational. Hoarders fill up whatever space they have, whether it be 2 rooms or 20.
Consumerism is the ultimate lie to happiness.
Theodora reminds me of an actress........can't remember her name. Jacqueline Bisset, Yes.
They always say they want to sell it, ok! Then why haven’t they!?
Executive dysfunction
They have no intention of selling.
Someone buy Theodora a kindle ❤️❤️❤️
You don't know the love of books
@@roselee4445 I agree with you on the love for books over digital, but if you can't store them, then it's a no-no. I know I got rid of a lot of them and only kept the really valuable (to me) ones.
I love Theodora
Is it just me or does Stelios look like Craig Ferguson?
Graham is protecting himself. That's what all the comments are about.
My goodness, if he was my neighbor and his junk was pushing the fence over into my yard, I would have called help on him forever ago.
That's wonderful to turn unneeded objects into useful money. Money is a tool they can do many wonders
I agree. Family is the most important thing in my life, no Graham, you are so wrapped up in yourself, there is no room for family.
Theodora is lovely and I hope things are going well for her.❤
Living this so motivating
His
The problem with narcissists is that they very rarely accept they suffer from their own patological behavior or any psychological issues at all.
I love this show l have to then organise my house stellios is great kym australia
Exactly, what’s all the stuff!! You said it
I have 10 pairs of eyeglasses and 10 watches, l,m not sure why. Same thoughts, l,m in a rented room, not family friendy, must change this after Covid.
“Unattended children will be sold as slaves” Jesus christ my guy with that sign on the banjo
Theodora gets happy families and Graham, well he gets his stuff.
Unless it becomes a public safety issue or an acutely dangerous situation and since he’s an apparently sane person there’s not a lot they can do.
Graham--Our school district is always asking for donations of musical instruments for the students who can't afford any.
Δρ. Κιόσση , το φυσικό χρώμα στα μαλλιά σας είναι πολύ καλύτερο από την βαφή ! Μην τα ξαναβαψετε ! 💕
We're doing de-hoarding, and you are talking hair dye! Wrong focus!
This is why Spring cleaning exists.
A serious brain sickness …..
Yes, and no one is immune from getting it
He won't sell
It's too bad we never saw the empty backyard/🐸 if it was empty??????? This was a therapeutic show more so than the average, but it's too bad we never see items being auctioned off and bank accounts increasing in size. 👶🤖😆
why is it ... the world over .... that Grandma's cabinet ...... must be kept
Ambidextrous people rise UP! Lol.. I wonder what the doctor would say that this means about me that I can write both my feelings and answers to those feelings with both hands (?)
I wish Stelios could be my therapist
If something is for sale or something is a real deal it’s usually because no one else wanted it and so why would I? When I go in stores and see sale racks I go in the other direction. But then I only go in stores to buy the one item I am needing and have never felt the desire to pick up and carry more out of the store. I’m glad the rest of the world isn’t like me or we wouldn’t have a very good economy. In all the things the hoarders buy, at some level they’re just keeping things circulating in the economy .---of course living like that would drive me crazy, or should I say crazier than I already am but I’m much more of a minimalist.
I have two fry pans sir. And i have a family of three to feed. Its just you. Get real 😅
