Such a helpful lesson. I've got a gig and I've never actually used CDJs before so this has seriously cleared a lot of things up. Thank you for uploading
Hockey Ref's Guide to DJ'ing.
Finally switching from an S4 to CDJs (just ordered) This is super helpful! Thanks for the course too :)
Helped me so much! Thank you! :)
i never thought of EQ levels like that . thanks mate
Ok so I was making overly complicated beats and I am a beginner. ( That explains why I had a hard time converting my beat into a continuous loop. ) Thank you so much +Pyramind that helped me; you are a very very very professional instructor so I would recommend you to anybody that wants to be a successful DJ like me!!!! :-)
This is an incredibly helpful video. Thank you!
+Tri Le Thanks Tri. We've got the entire 10 part series available now: www.pyramind.com/training/blog/2015/9/2/free-online-dj-course-learn-traktor-cdjs-and-controllers-will-marshall
Thanks for the tutorial... really good explanations!
A brilliantly done video. Explained the basics quite well. For a beginner, it covers most and for the experienced, a refresher.
Can't wait to complete the 10 part series and much more from Pyramind.
Such a well explained video, I've recently been interested in learning how to DJ and this is by far the clearest and most well explained video I've seen.
Thank you and keep it up.
This is the best bare bones tutorial I have seen on RUclips, thank you so much! 💗
although i'm totally not into this techno thing but I really liked this guys way of teaching... one who seeks to learn something related to dj should follow his lessons...
Nice exampl. I cue up like a drummer would in a rock band " 1...2,1,2,3,4!! And play. Very simple. That just one way. You can also just cut or play with vocals of two tracks. Then you can also mix with harmonics. Great video!
Very helpful. Appreciate your work sir.
thanks man, i finally understand cueing now. i always wondered why some live players cue button was lit and it also could play sound through the main stereo system. just the fader bar :p
Thank you for going super in depth. I think I might get the whole course.
+Blake Inkrot We are now giving away the entire video series: www.pyramind.com/training/blog/2015/9/2/free-online-dj-course-learn-traktor-cdjs-and-controllers-will-marshall

Nicely presented, thanks.
"Combining songs gracefully."
Sure would be nice if the current EDM hype would've followed those instructions.

En Route hi hi
Very good tutorial
Excellent video thank you so much
Totally want to start DJing using these, now I just need like $10,000
You don't need a lot of money mate, just make friends with DJ's or people who own just a basic setup. If they're nice enough, they can lend you their older sets or sell you some 2nd hand for a cheap price.
Buy a controller first. You can DJ with the too.
Buy Oculus Quest 2 and get Tribe XR

good sharing thank you
This is nice, I'm a producer for 2 years by now so I think mixing as a dj is gonna be much more easier to learn than producing the music itself.
Thank you for the videos I'm going to check it out all of them.
I love how gently he puts on his headphones.
Fantastic lesson thanks
What tracks are those and do you have any good recommendations. Those are really sick; like

Your EQ is not good to hear.
Really nice ! But what are the two tracks you use ? they are amazing !!
Really good video
Hi,
I'm just beginner and confused about what should I choose: im thinking about cdj 350+djm350 or XDJ700+djm350. Which one is better option and why?
Thanks for you help
thank you
Does anyone know if its possible to disable the touch sensitive platter (enabled in VINYL mode) in the mapping environment?
Using the Pioneers in CDJ mode has problems with the Play/Pause button which Native Instruments don't appear to be fixing anytime soon.
well done lad
nice lesson!
Is their one on cue and cue drops and what to do w them?
Was there a lesson 2 and so on to this series? I can't seem to find the next video. Very well thought out and explained tutorial, hope there's more to the series.
+PJ Finster We hadn't posted them until now. You can check them all out here: www.pyramind.com/training/blog/2015/9/2/free-online-dj-course-learn-traktor-cdjs-and-controllers-will-marshall
Great work, very helpful 👍
Thanks Mick!
how can you connect the pionneer xdj 1000 to the DJM 750 with software without time code
rekordbox performance
Headphone cueing IS pretty consisting on most DJ-mixers, except on the XONE 92... Something I realized a short while ago, after 33 years as a DJ. Visiting a friend in the booth, he desperately needed a 5 minute break, and as he cued the next track, he asked me to do the transition... No probs... except I need both tracks in my headphones initiating the transition to get the tracks perfectly matched. For some reason, some idiot at A&H thought that single press on/off each headphone cue button was too easy, so a simultaneous double press is needed to activate two channels at the same time, or activating one, will just switch the other one off. Probably one of the most stupid way of doing something very simple, turning it to RTFM, I've experienced ever on a DJ mixer. I have used a ton of different mixers over the years, and i don't mind using them again, except for the XONE 92. There were a few more things about it that were just too reversed and backwards thinking without any obvious reason that made me never wanna use this mixer again. I really hope A&H has a more standard approach on their other mixers as I really like the newer DB5 from what I've seen and read about it.
Key is very important
So does your decks sync the mix or is it the mixer? Cheers!
what is the track on deck b you brought in? the artist? please?
you are the best
Good video. Very old school mixing technics. Kids don't use it now
Great tutorial!
Thanks!
Very interesting video. Just bought DJ Pro for ipad just to play a little with deejaying. Is the low frequency EQ the most important control to adjust when fading to Deck B? Thanks
+Michael Petersen yes. at the start of the mixing, first 8 counts introduce deck B, second 8 counts make deck B at full level and make the low frequency EQ of deck A to 50%. third 8 counts reduce deck A, then last/fourth 8 counts fade deck A. total of 32 counts. =D thats just the basics though, there are many ways to mix.
Do the cdj's give you a reading of the tempo of the track? So you're doing things by the numbers and not so much by ear, using the pitch control?
I'm from vinyl !
Yes, although you can just cover it up if you wanna do it old school
So THIS video is the reason there are so many AVERAGE NON-CREATIVE DJ's in today's EDM world! No wonder I don't go out anymore e.e >.
David Ruck enlighten us ....
David Ruck hahaha
epic shirt !
Super.....make it more easy
You are god! Thank you!
Im rave7n from malaysia...and now i know how to play a cdj...i want to know..how to mix with pioneer mixer..its same with allen and heath or diffrent..
Track @ 13:20: Mr. Squatch And Grouch - Lost in the Forest

+Blues Blue You may want to watch the rest of the videos in the series: www.pyramind.com/training/blog/2015/9/2/free-online-dj-course-learn-traktor-cdjs-and-controllers-will-marshall
I would be pissed as f*ck if I got in stage at a festival and the crossfader was removed. Absolutely essential to my style of mixing
Nick Halverson amen dude I disagree with Crossfader being removed lol I was actually laughing
Thanks for the vid! great work. What headphones are you using there?
dj madjik I know because I own them personally. Audio Technica ATH-M50s
Thanks -that's what I thought, but wasn't sure.

Filled out the survey a few weeks ago and still haven't gotten the rest of the videos. Is there anything I can do to get them?
Oh no! Sorry about that. You can email us directly at online@pyramind.com to get the rest of the videos. Also, be sure to check your spam / promotions folders, as sometimes the email ends up there :)
What genre of music should I use to learn beat matching ?
+Raghav Narang a genre with a similiar construction like Reggae(the typical reggae guitar) or house(the continuous kick). dont forget the master tempo ;D
link for the lesson 2..i need to learn more!!
Thanks this video is very good!!
Reynel Obordo Glad this was helpful - Thanks for watching!
+Reynel Obordo Here you go, we just posted part 2! ruclips.net/video/owu45uwFxSc/видео.html
this is seriously quality stuff. but things are changing with edm nowadays and trap is thriving. you should worth mentioning the 140 bpm range
+Gavin Perea Thanks Gavin. We created this video quite awhile back, and seems that there's a new electronic sub genre cropping up all the time... Couldn't possibly hit them all in this sort of a video. Hope you enjoyed it.
Gavin Vuulcan "TRAP" get outa here 😂😂
Very relaxing p
Damn it...i watch it from the beginning to the fucking end :)
