19:21 Thanks for the shout out and soon to be 3 times! The service at Wisely is as world class as the videos have you believe and well worth the 1,200 mile round trip.
Kudos to you all for putting this out and being transparent with your pricing. Love all your videos. Looking forward to more repair videos so I can copy and keep my i3 on the road. Keep up the great work! Wish you were in the US so I could buy from you all. Maybe something to think about???? 🙂
after being quoted 4.6k euros(@ bmw dealer here) with some strange explanation about parts that needs to be replaced i am really thrilled to drive to england to get my i3 serviced by you guys
Great video - as usual!!! Could you tell me the beast charging practice for my i3 - Always be charging or 20/80 range charching of fully charging from 10 - 20 km? Thank you again..
Great videos thanks I kept thinking whats the noise then it Clicked Trains over you arches. I am waiting to see how much of a lump sum I get from Army pension in a few days (I'm not counting LOL) and I may be coming to see you for a car I have my eye on if its not sold before then. I have planned my National express and tube journey and zap map Charging return to Blackpool already. Not that I'm counting my chickens😂😂😂😂👍👍
Hi guys, greetings from Oxford. Firstly, thanks for your advice to choose Continental tyres for my i3, so much better than the OEM Bridgestones (got 37k miles from the factory tyres). Secondly, I don’t understand why a 12v battery replacement requires updating the ECU, surely a battery does not contain any electronics that ‘talk’ to the ECU. When you do the servicing videos, I will be watching keenly, my i3 doesn’t have the REx, so I question what needs servicing. I think BMW say to change the brake fluid and cabin filter every 2 years; I’m 58, I have never changed either of these items this often on any of the ICE cars I have owned, brake fluid 5 to 7 years, cabin filter depends on air quality in the operating environment, just my humble opinion. Of more value might be to change the transaxle oil, so your thoughts on any of this would be welcome.
Well I know where I'm taking mine for it's next service! I am very fortunate that I drive past Wisely on my way to work. However this is at 6am so dropping off could be an issue 🤔
Hello @wisely, i have recently gotten very interested in buying a BMW i3 in no small part thanks to your videos and i wanted to ask - is there any issues to look for specifically in an I3s as opposed to an I3? I wasn't originally looking for an s but due to circumstances might end up easier or cheaper for me to get an s with high mileage than an older lower mileage normal one. Also how susceptible is it in real life to cobbled or lower quality roads seeing as i will be mostly driving it in Prague? :D
Like the Service Menu List - under the High Voltage Electrics section when you say 'Replace charging port & harness' does this equate to what BMW refer to as the LIM? Also, I notice you quote diagnostic time per the half hour, what would be the typical range for diagnostic charges when fault finding using ISTA? Many thanks
Hi, the LIM is a plug-in module which lives behind the OSR wing. It would be about 1 hour labour to replace + programming time. That said, we've never actually needed to replace one (though we do see a lot of people replacing them, usually in hope of resolving issues). We've never needed to change one (yet). Regarding diagnosis, consider the £72 inc vat a minimum charge for any diagnosis work up to approx 30 mins. In most cases by that point we have a reasonable understanding of what is wrong / needs doing / needs spending. If it's not definitive at that point and we need more investigation time to get a clear picture, we then bill hourly as per the hourly labour rate.
Can you expand to other parts of the country possibly? We need your honest & transparent ethos here in Devon. Fed up of main steelerships ripping us off and not doing the best work.
I'd be interested in a video of how Tesla would compare to BMW in terms of a dealer like yourself being able to service them, buy parts, access car data etc. I expect it will be a stark difference and be a short video but still quite interesting perhaps. Edit: Posted this before finishing video sorry!
Could someone help me ? If the BMW i3 120 ( battery at 80%) is left in the drive for 2 months without being charged or used , is the battery going to be flat ? I need this info before deciding to buy the i3 ( I live outside UK for 2 months in a year )

As a local, it's been great seeing you guys grow from the start! Keep up the great work
Great video, your transparency is brilliant, especially in this industry! Is that a Mr Porter i3 in the background? Very special if it is.
It’s an MPE indeed! One of 3 we’ve sold over the years - this one is a local car which was in with us for some maintenance at time of filming :)

The picture of Castrol C3, is that exactly what is needed / recommended for the i3 rex? And also, what spec should the brake fluid be?

Thanks for this video very professional… How much will cost the replacement of 94 kWh battery?
If Wisley wants to open shop in Southern California, that would be nice, we have some EVs.

Love the videos, true EV legends.
Would the electric mini be worth looking at range to sell and maintain? I thought they shared a lot of drive parts with the i3?

Do you / will you offer MOT's so that they can be done along side any pre-MOT / servicing work requirements?
We don't at the moment and due to the limited capacity we have, we are not planning on offering MOTs in-house anytime soon.
