Incendiary mortars would wreck these blobs. You need vet1 but at this point if the blob is that big, you should have a vet1 mortar. I find that if you are against Wehr with paratrooper doctrine, you should expect a whirlwind by the 5 command points mark and have an anti gun ready at the front. Push with anti gun, infantry, and flares then they’d never get the opportunity to build such a big blob. Plus anti gun is best for dealing with those bunkers. But yeah in 2/3/4 vs 2/3/4 matches, Wehr with paratrooper doctrine is very hard to dig out once dug in.

I meen watching that I can say somewhat balanced because the fact that you could hit it over and over again with arty and he couldnt do anything XD. Well played was great to watch
You need to keep scouting with flares early, he's not using them at all. Not using at all the HQ artillery early game which is cheap and can break up the blob a bit for your troops to keep fighting. You start using it after you upgrade your troops to recce + AT rifles. And late game you use the artillery emplacement against their emplacements, then push with troops and tanks. Take them over or destroy them. Artillery is a support mechanic, not going to kill much by itself. It's not hard to fight against the strategy but it needs attention. The heavy mortar has very long range, don't keep it near the front line. Matildas are slow, the medium tank is cheaper and faster. The brits machine gun is useless, small area of supression, just skip it or steal from the enemy if possible.
After playing for a few days now, I really think that it should be a lot more punishing to have units under fire without any kind of cover. Blobbing in CoH3 is really effective and requires no effort for the player controlling the blob. I remember in CoH1 how more tactical it was to keep your units alive, it was still difficult to play against blobs but a lot more managable unlike CoH3.

So blobs are a problem in CoH3? I mean, any chance they became a problem because they kind of nerfed MG's suppression? For instance, in CoH2 when a blob like that walks infront of an MG they gonna be suppressed pretty much instantly. You really need to spread out more to avoid that happening.
There seems to be more individual suppression as units get pinned faster at least for the mg42 but unlike coh2 the suppression doesn’t seem to spread to other squads at fast so blobs have an easier time
