If HBO wants to do a Harry Potter series they should be original and focus from the very beginning, Voldermont himself, his rise to power and all the first generation of death eaters and order of the phoenix.
I think anime would work to or better. The movies are sometimes to limited and i think a bit lazy in showing the magical fantasy. Duels are simplified in shooting jets of light devided in 3 1/2 groups blue/white: block or push red: stun/contol and green: death everything else is fire. In anime you can bend the rules and show magic that is hard to see like occlumence.
Literally! They need prequels instead of a reboot. The founding of Hogwarts, the first Wizarding World, the Gaunt Family, hell, even a show about the rise of the dark arts would be better than a reboot.
I swear if I could like this video more than once, I would. It's amazing! One of my favorites. It's hard watching it just once. The cast, the music and just how well it was done. It's perfect!

I don't think they had such thoughts. In the sixth book, the Dark Lord has already been resurrected. And since he was able to get into other people's thoughts, they had to be careful.
I had an idea to add Abraxas. And even found a prototype. However, I think he was not a "friend" of Tom. He seemed to be with them, but kept apart. Like Orion Black. But that's just my opinion.
