What has happened to my poor England, to our way of life, our culture? These hidden gems are great to watch but heartbreaking because it highlights what we have become. Can we turn things around? I sincerely hope so.
I was 10 when these came out ... I'm now 55 ...where had the time gone ? Some seem like yesterday ...I sold kitchens in the late 80s for texas ...most of these companies are gone ... all due to Internet
Most of these were from 1978, so weird I remember all the shows and films advertised, I watched them live lol.. I was ten at the time, I also remember pestering my mum to take me to see pete’s dragon all over Christmas, as it was opening in our local cinema in the new year. Such memories….
@@martinpotter8139 ah.. thought so lol. It brought back some wonderful memories for me. My mum died this year, so now I’m the last one in my family after my brother and father passed number of years ago. This took me right back to such happy times, thank you!
@@lindathomas5500 1978 was without doubt the dullest year of my life. I was 13 and at a Dickensian-like grammar school that I absolutely hated. So sorry to hear your mum passed away and ya dad and brother. *hug*
@@hopebgood lol.. I must admit that doesn’t sound great! 😂 Do you remember the heatwave of 76! Scorching temperatures, the tarmac melting everywhere, our mum complaining about the blanket amount of giant flying ant invasion all over the washing. The drought that produced the share a bath posters lol But…. For us kids that meant days and days of perfect summer holidays beaching weather! (I should confess I was born in Cornwall, so the sea for me was a ten minute walk. That was a brilliant summer lol 😂
I remember these. Adverts have a powerful effect just when I don't think they do. The B R passangers are still on the train waiting for services to resume
Well to their credit, they only ever claimed to be 'getting there'. They never actually claimed to actually get you there. British Rail fulfilling the only promise they were capable of. A journey that may never ever end - at least not in the place you hoped it would.
Sometime second half of the 70s I think these were shown and most were viewed on our 21" Ferguson colour TV. Recognise most of the voice overs but their names escape. Richard Briers, Michael Jayston, Ray Brooks, the feller from It Ain't Half Hot Mum I managed though. Strange thing is that I've got an adblocker installed on my PC😅
Why can’t we have someone sat in a comfy armchair next to a Christmas tree introducing programs nowadays instead of freaky avant- guard stuff that gives me nightmares?
It's true we are being replaced by immigrants that are NOT wanted here by most of the country people that were born here white families ..stop with the leftist "waycis"crap.
I remember most of these like I'd watched them yesterday. Today's adverts actually turn me off the products they're selling as I don't belong to the target market of BAME mixed race families.

BOXING DAY BLUES...! even then , they where advertising Holidays for the New Year ..and DIY sales ... Settees and Carpets ....it spelt the end of Xmas for me , Toys broken or fed - up with , or the Batteries running out on your favourite present out so no more play till the 28th ....But it was still a much better time IMO. 200Kid
And no endlessly screened adverts for post menopausal women pissing in their yoga pants and laughing about it with their mates. Or adverts championing homosexuality and other sexual perversions. And no non-stop adverts telling everyone how gambling can improve your social life. The ITV version of the Morcambe & Wise Christmas Show was totally crap and a huge disappointment. I hope Eric enjoyed the extra money he earned from it because he threw away years of hard work and perseverance. Not to mention a lot of fans.
For those who complain about flat-pack furniture from Ikea, they clearly haven't experienced the joys of MFI furniture. As terrible as the food in the seventies, if not worse.

Simple times but such a happy time no adverts for Life insurance or funeral plans for the over fiftys. .
What brilliant escapism....love it takes me back to much better times ❤
We have lost so very much.
O.M.G. I bought my kitchen from M.F.I. and its still looking O.K. Thanks lovely memories of a simpler time.
I used to hate it when the adverts came on, looking back I’d rather watch these than the shows now. Funny old world.

Rid the UK of woke ,DEI anti white and bring back meritocracy.
We moan about advertisements prior to watching you tube videos, then we watch a video full of advertisements for our relaxation….
Hahaha like it
The test card when there was nothing more to watch, we need to bring it back again 12 hours a day.
A great era

I'm still searching for the Williams Furnishings 'Pound Power' advert.
Stephanie Beecham in that Texas add. Talking of Beecham, I remembered that Night Nurse bit straight away, 45 yrs later.
Yeah remember when the ads on Christmas Day suddenly featured lots of sales and holiday ads.

Those were the days.
Nice Philips transfers :-)

The prices are wonderful
These were made when Britain was just about still recognisable. Whites are not in TV ads now. The country has metamorphasised into Zimbabwe.
Trust YT to bring out the closet racist

A lot of Christmas adverts.
Agree the adverts since 2018 make it look like we are all black or mixed parentage. The last time i read we are 80 per cent white.
