Portnoy telling JP to slide into the riff.... Imagine what else Portnoy did in the studio.... And that's why all the musicians miss him in DT. Mangini knows drums, Portnoy knows music.
@@Homie3794 I think a better way to phrase that is... The 25 year dream theater fans love to let everyone know the music has been average at best the last 10 years and it's obvious what the problem is.... The studio/writing. Nobody hates Mangini, but people wish he didn't hinder DT's creativity in the studio. Try comparing the last 3 albums to SFOM, SDOIT, images and words... You can't. Last 3 albums are... Average at best
@@davelospinoso9022 ok. Try comparing Octavarium, Systematic Chaos, and BC&SL to the 3 you mentioned. Still not up to par to those. You ever consider that maybe it was the band as a whole that took a different musical approach? It’s very clear that they went from groovy and SUPER creative riffs, prog changes, melodies, etc to heavier more musically complex songs. And that didn’t happen just because of Mangini. That happened in 2003 with the release of Train of Thought.
4:05 fuck my life... this is what DT was all about!!.. And now.. no offense to Mangini, is gone!!!.. completely gone!!.. And what i mean is aggressive drums!!!
I love how Jordan is just like drinking coffee and still easily playing the notes
I noticed that pretty awesome
The shakiness of the video at 4:55 wasn't actually an effect. It was Petrucci distorting the fabric of time and space to write that solo
Thank Mike for capturing these moments for us.
4:04 that groove though
Haha jordan at 0:41 doing the intro with one hand and having a drink not even looking at the music score.
That cracked me up. LOL
While thinking "what will I have for dinner tonight?"
Ben Michalowicz that just pisses me off man
One of my favorite songs to help me get in a good mood after a hard day.
Mr Rudess. Like a Boss! (y)
0:41, haha, Jordan couldn't care less!

We meet again. Like I said on The Alien post…you Mangini haters love to let everyone know thay you dislike Mangini

@0:01 Wow, can you hear how hard he is hitting those strings!
Artificial harmonics
this is just like GODLIKE lol I want this team back again
Mike's drumming dictates the tempo of the universe.
My fave song by Dream Theater.
Man Petruccis tone was so crunchy here
that. freaking. guitar solo.
fuuunk these guys are amazing
Petrucci: *plays that mind bending solo
Also Petrucci: "hehe ... cool 😊"
5:38 hot damn
I'm pretty sure they can record an album in an hour
How is this possible If their songs are like 3 weeks long
They wrote train of thought in three weeks or so, if I'm not mistaken
The riff at 3:03 is a nightmare to learn
Doesn't look too hard, it's just very fast and difficult to figure out what he's actually doing.
Sounds more like the intro to the solo of Constant Motion - Or at least an early version of the solo.
It is really hard, cause its so fast lol
Its really hard. But its nothing copared to that last segment of the solo. Im currently working on it and Im closer to suicide that to get it right
Teppa Petty Bit how is it now? Got it down?
chris adler needs to wear some DT tshirts when Lamb of God record their next album, just as a sign of respect
terrific video, 2:56 is hilarious
4:05 fuck my life... this is what DT was all about!!.. And now.. no offense to Mangini, is gone!!!.. completely gone!!.. And what i mean is aggressive drums!!!
Couldn't agree more!
0:38 Jordan,Like a Boss
JP DOWN PICKING THE RIFF?? noo cant be
4:04 so lewd
lol jordan is relaxing.
i like the blur on petrucchis solo lol
0:36 Jordan is thinking
"Booooring, can we play something harder?"
Woohoo, Mike's wearing a Dethklok shirt hahaha
LOVE this song! Can't go wrong with sick driving riffs, Metallica style.
Lmao
Jordan is playing "casual, simple" Dream Theatre while sipping on coffee hahaha
The only thing I can think about when I am watching this is 'I miss Portnoy' :).
awesome vid subbed
anybody care to tell me what kind of snare mike is using in this video?
Lamb of God ftw 1:06
TAMA melody master. A portnoy signature series snare.
With the topic of the song, it wouldve been really funny if the guitar was only in the left ear the whole time
2:16 "Fuck is here fuck is there"
que macho Rudness en el min 0:40!! jaja
1:37 Deathlock Shirt?
Mike has a nice LOG shirt. I WANT IT.
I want his son's yee shirt
Rudess is like: sooooooft
4:04 just watch 🤤
Lamb Of God
Thumbs up X10!
Come back Portnoy!
He was the dummy that left the band.
@DonChato12 1:05 and portnoy scratches with a leg
Mike portnoy não é humanooo kk
The BEST dream theater album!💪👍
4:04
JLB goes full Hetfield in this song. IMO thats the only bad thing about this song. Its not his style to do this imo.
When JLB goes Hetfield is because Portnoy demands it. Same with As I Am
5:36 ;)
OMG Portnoy singing is like a Labrie, but fuckun better!
worst song and album ever....
