As a former caterer and butcher ( I break down livestock, not run meat thru a saw ) Buy Sugardale or John Morrell hams. Nowadays Sugardale are cryovac for shelf life, but with 16 oz. of ginger ale or 7up, (Brits and Irish call it Lemonade), it will pull in the flavors of ginger and sweet. The John Morrell is my fav, Skin and fat on. I watched in horror as all these TV chef's chop off the fat and flavor! Down South they would be hung for sheer stupidity,, I am amazed they have TV shows! Get a roaster and set at 275 f, the ham should be room temp, and the roaster has to lift out rack with your lemonade or ginger, flavors. Cook 7 min. per lbs.It is already smoked and at room temp! Let it rest 20 min and then enjoy. I just cook one and it was phenomenal!

Then . . . remove the skin, stud with cloves, cover in a delicious honey glaze and bake at a highish heat for 30-40 mins. Well folks dhow this is a an ok sort of video please be aware. While the narrator may be British and have a British accent .All the temperatures recommended are in the Fahrenheit (°F) range Where as in England they use Celsius (°C) the internal temperature of 143 F is the equivalent of 61.6667 Celsius (°C) But please be advised for an uncooked ham the recommendations are 63°C or if you are in America where they use the Fahrenheit scale that would be 145°F for the internal temperature . A cooked ham the recommended internal temperature is 140°F or 60°C So going 145°F or 63°C on a cooked ham you will be over cooking it. Now as the only countries that officially use Fahrenheit as a unit for measuring temperature is the United States, the Liberia and the Cayman Islands. Other parts of the world use both, though Celsius is the standard. So one can take it this video is for the American market. But if you are outside the aforementioned. Then your appliances control's are more than likely designed for the Celsius (°C) temperature range .
So something to look out for when cooking
As for F to (°C) converting
Subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature.
    Multiply this number by five.
    Divide the result by nine.
    143 F - 32 =111 x 5 = 555 / 9 = 61.6666666667
But no matter what you do always cook your ham LOW AND SLOW
An internal temperature gauge is a must in any kitchen
Anything else is just guessing and mostly leads to over cooking or even worse under cooking
It is all about the internal temperature once you know that requirement and when it is reached.
Any meat you cook will always be delicious with the correct amount of mouthwatering moisture and flavours

Since cooking and flavor is completely subjective, here’s my two cents. If you have cloves or ground clove in your house, you’ll need to dispose of it or burn your house down. Clove is disgusting and overpowers anything it touches.

....... Yummy when cooking apples for pies etc.....As an additive, clove oil is very good for tooth ache.

A 1/16 tsp of cloves (or a pinch) in a marinade of red wine, garlic, evoo, allspice, bouillon, tomato paste/water, red pepper flakes, sometimes cinnamon. Let sirloin tips marinate overnight then cover and bake in the marinade for a couple of hours with onions. Heaven.

For what she said, think about 225 to 350 g per person, depending on whether it's got a bone in it.
