I have both a C1 Platinum and a C1 Apocalypse. The Apocalypse is dope, but the C1 Platinum is probably one of the best guitars on the market for the price. It's totally up to snuff for a professional player. Great tone, great feel, high quality parts, great attention to detail, satin finish on the neck is a great player's feature. Just a killer guitar.
I’ve gotten my first job and been looking for a good guitar to spend my first two paychecks on. This is such a informational video and it helped me make my mind on what I should get with my money.
I’ve had mine for a a while now and I have zero complaints. You have to buy some 9v batteries every once in a while, but it’s worth it having active pickups just sounds so much cleaner and refined that it makes you forget about the batteries
I bought a used one from a dude with a line 6head and an Ibanez half stack.I just wanted the guitar, got them all for $200.00 bucks. I just restrung it the other day and played it through my Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier and with a Octonaut Hyperdrive that I just got and play it in drop b.It’s an awesome sounding guitar and if you haven’t tried the Octonaut Hyperdrive get ready to be blown away.Nice review, your lead playing is awesome ✌🏼
My man thanks for the upload, İ have a question if you have time - Can i switch to duncan blackouts without soldering? İ mean is it like plug and play? İ am asking because i asume Schecter didnt put solderless emg kit. Cheers
@@Amiga1200_Juicer of course you’re very welcome! Thank you for watching! And yes you can actually. It’s very much plug and play. You just insert the solderless cord from the stock Emg’s into the back of the blackouts then you’re all set 🎸👍
Really enjoyed your video. I love these guitars too; so much in fact, I own 2 of them now. Earlier this year my local Guitar Center had the white one on sale for $600 and i had some old gear i traded in, and walked out the door with it for around $350. Then recently they had another sale on these for $499, brand new. Are you kidding me? So yeah, i just bought another one in the purple color, to add to my collection. Schecter really did a great job with these, just awesome guitars for the price.
Two questions. 1) Did you try the EMG pickups before you switched them out? 2) Have you tried installing locking tuners to help with the tuning stability?
@@angrychivafan oh yeah. The EMG’s sound great in them stock. I had this guitar a long time :) I haven’t got around to installing locking tuners yet but it is something i eventually would like to do.
My last guitar was an Ibanez S470 DX, this was many years ago. I pawned it like an idiot and have always regretted it. Now I am getting back into playing looking at one of these. How would you compare to an Ibanez S series?
Thanks man! Congratulations! The blackout one is dope. Funny enough, the clean clips are just things I wrote like a minute before I filmed this video 😂
@@King-hs9zc I sure could! A lot of it was just the neural dsp plugin presets I was using here, but yeah I could definitely do a video on how to achieve great tone on a budget guitar like this one 👍💯🎸

Dude, I just picked one up and it doesn't sound right. Wondering if it's the pickups. It doesn't have that in your face sound I want. Did I get a lemon? Is it the EMG?
@@marvinmartin3438 that’s very odd. Is the battery fresh? Active pickups like EMG’s do run on a 9V battery so it could be that issue if it has to do with the sound and tone potentially?! 🤔 if old, the output will be very low and not have that punch.
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial Thanks for the reply. Picked up the guitar yesterday. Put a new battery and strings on it. I think I'll replace the bridge pickup.
@@Trollberg I never went from active to passive pups on it, but I can imagine it’s completely doable. You would just need to get new pots and electronics installed for the passive pickups
@Trollberg is it from musician's friend? Because I just bought the blackout for 499 but I found out they're not exactly brand new in box apparently musician's friend doesn't have any new in the box in their warehouse and won't get any until December. So you'll basically be getting a demo model from guitar center .
In the trenches nice!!!! Awesome review man. I’m so close to pulling the trigger on a second hand one
Recently a friend of mine died of an overdose and at the time his guitar was at my house. I’m researching the guitar today and this is the guitar.
My condolences
Oh man! I'm so sorry to hear that! Really dude, I'm sorry! One internet stranger to another, I'll pray for man!

Hi. Nice playing ! Wondering what all it took for you to change the pickups to blackouts. Simple as plug n play or more complicated??
