A truly hidden gem in music! I still remember stumbling across her catalog over 20 years ago .. I was so impressed by not only her striking vocals, but also her musical range! Her cover of Somewhere over the Rainbow is still my favorite version!!
Her Over the Rainbow is beyond brilliant. The first time I heard her rendition my mind kept trying to force the original into being, I let go of it and listened to it again and it truly blew my mind. I can't listen to any other version and introduce any and everyone to Eva's. It is a favorite of hers but honestly, I can't think of anything she recorded that I don't love. I discovered her through a friend around 1997 and broke down and cried when I was told she had died. Imagine what she'd have done over the past 28 years . . .
2:45 Eva had such a beautiful voice, she was definitely one of a kind. It is so very sad she died so young, and she didnt even get to see how her music touched so many people, again unfortunately she became mega famous once she had died. Heres hoping she is singing sll of her lovely songs to the people that have passed away, you had an extraordinary voice Eva, loved you singing 'Fields of Gold' and 'Over the Rainbow '... God Bless you Eva xx 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👌🏻
My former spouse, a lifelong musician who passed away last year after a broken neck/paralysis which lasted 3+ years p, first gave me ‘A Night at Blues Alley’. I have a been a fan since then. Thank you Lee and Eva & Patsy-you’re all making great music on the biggest stage there is. ❤😇 2:42
This version of "Walking After Midnight" comes from Eva Cassidy's new album "WALKING AFTER MIDNIGHT" being released Sept. 06th, 2024 . Eva's other version of this song was released on Eva's "Somewhere" CD in 2008. Some of the other songs on this new CD were released on previous CD's. The new CD will be released in Nov. of 2024. The (12) previously-unreleased tracks were recorded at Maryland Inn’s “King of France Tavern” in 1995 almost (30) years ago. Eva was joined by her regular lead guitarist, Keith Grimes, her bassist, Chris Biondo, and guest fiddler Bruno Nasta. Drummer Raice McLeod did not play that night due to the speakeasy being so small & quiet. (Info per Eva Cassidy's website operated by Webmaster Laura Bligh). Initially, I found three major differences between the two versions of this song: the two lead guitar intros by Keith Grimes are different; Bruno Nasta plays the lead part with his fiddle on this version instead of Grimes with his guitar; and Eva seems to play with more vocal harmonies on this version. Both are great, but I like this one slightly better! I can't wait to get the CD!!! It has two Cassidy covers that I've never heard her sing: "Down Home Blues" and "Desperado."
Love 💕 Eva so very much and I’m so sorry to see her passing. She was an inspiration for us all and am grateful to still hear her music 🎵 😊!! She will always hold her special place in our hearts 🥰 forever and ever Amen 🙏!!! Thank you, Eva Cassidy!! ❤🖤💜💯🌈🦄🦋🇬🇧!! 2:43
A HUGE THANK YOU 🙏🏼 to her friends for recognizing a truly phenomenal talent & recorded her songs ❤❣️ Because of them we have the honor to get to listen to her amazingly beautiful voice 🥰👌🏼🙏🏼❣️ No one has mentioned her TIMING, so I do 🤩❣️ Every song she sang she, not only, made her own & she also turned them into “gold”❣️❤️
Very strange that this alert showed up on my phone this morning 11 min ago, the last day of my Mom's birthday and death month. My Mom passed away from cancer in July 26th 2021 and her birthday was July 27th. She loved Ava. favorite singer and she has all her recordings which I have now. As soon as I get my little tiny home set up I want to play Eva's recordings on my Mom's stereo. Mom and I met Ava years ago on Long Beach Island (NJ). Every summer to this day her music is played in the beautiful little shop called How To Live On An Island. She was very close to the owner. I hope my Mom and Ava have met. Beautiful voice Ava had.. Nice to 2:45 get this alert and listen on a rainy day.
Wow💝 I ❤her voice, something really sooo fresh and sensitive. Always a pleasure to listen to her singing.🎶🌹🍀❤️🎵🥀✨❤️ Her voice has something to do with a field of popies , dancing on the breeze, fragile and dazzling💖. She was an angel ❤️🍀🌹
This is my favorite version of this song. She was so full of talent and had such a soulful vibe. She could sing anything. Such a natural, crisp sound she had. She and Whitney would have made a killer duet!

It would be most interesting to see Patsy and Eva harmonize. I have a feeling that if Patsy heard Eva's version, she would stop whatever she was doing and listen. And when she finiahed walking, she would invite her over to her table... Wouldnt anybody just love to overhear that conversation

In the words of Tina Turner, simply the best.

Her version of "Over the Rainbow" is the absolute best.
My sweet mamma's favorite tune back when Patsy Cline was alive! Eva's version is terrific, as usual!
True talent

❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏💫🌈💕🦄
Hadn't heard this one.
Alas for beauty lost far too soon.
have ALL the songs from ‘walking after midnight’ been released on here?
I understand they are coming out with the album in Nov
I'm interested,
Eva could do many genres, akk equally wekll.
Another revelation. Is there anything Eva couldn't sing and make better? Any kind of music? If so, I haven't heard it.
❤❤❤❤
