I sent you stars because this was well filmed. you didn’t talk for 20 minutes before you started drumming you gave a top view so you could see what’s going on. very very good video. I gave my three year-old grandson a Djembe last night and an adult tambourine and he was drumming and singing into the night, I had no idea. It was so adorable. I’m gonna use this to learn what to teach him, very grateful!
After teaching myself 30 years bevor without having fun and never player well… today i started again with your exercice. Wow now i have so much fun after only 5 minutes!!! The next week i will not playing at my drumset, i will play my old bongos! Thx and greatings out of Germany… Dan
Hey Eric, love how you demonstrate your tutorials using the "pic in pic" technique to show YOUR perspective of the drum along with the viewer perspective which makes it easier to learn the actual hand positions instead of just switching the hand positions in my head alone!!! Very effective and efficient!!! Thank you for all your videos and your humor that makes the instructions even more fun!!!
Great video! It’s nice to have an instructional that keeps the basics interesting. I’m just starting out and have always subscribed to the “Go slow to go fast” mantra. This video does just that. Keeps the “Learning the basics” fun. Saludos!!
Nice step by step pattern, I agree with you in developing a smooth nice and slow pattern, as well as taking your time. Like the saying goes: “ slow is smooth, and smooth is fast “, afterwards you can begin adding what I call the, “ plug-ins “ or what you call the, “ ghost beats “. Love what you do bro, keep it going, and peace to you ! Lol 😀👊🏼🙏🏼
Thank you just got mine little two set today and this is definitely doable bc you teach well! I would love to play some Santana! Hoping you have more tuts on the bongos! I’m following you 😊❤️ oh and my condolences to you. It’s hard to lose someone we love💐
I am just now trying to play the bongos and ran across this video last night. This is perfect to get me going and exactly what I was looking for. Did you do a part 2, 3, 4, etc?
Love your videos! I'm beginning and hahave always 'driummed' on stuff......i know its diferent when you're actually playing a song. How do you know which rhythm to play? Is it more just winging it and playing a rhythym that works? Or does every type of music have to have a certain beat you play?
Today is my first day of lessons. You taught me the most valuable thing in the opening about the dominant hand. It NEVER stops. It's the Bass line! Thanks for this video. I'm already diggin' my Bongos y'all 😊 ~ 🕯
This type of pattern is very accessible to a casual listener, and to flavour pop/rock genres. Reminds me of some of the Exotica records from the mid 50s early 60s, and some of the dance instruction records at the time too.
Hey bro. I really like your teachings. Do you think you could do Samba pa ti by Santana on Bongo. I got the first rythem down, but I've been struggling with the second. I could really use some help.

"This is like way beginner stuff." ~ I'm a beginner and I really appreciate it! Very clear and understandable. I feel like I have a chance. Thanks!
Love the way he teaches. I’m a man in my 70’s who loves Latin percussion. This will really help with my bongo learning lessons.
I've been playing for about 3 weeks and I am so grateful for this presentation. I love making the structure my own!

I'm new to bongas, picking lots up, love that slap combination when dropping left hand tones in, makes fantastic grooves!
Very well done!! I'm just starting on bongo and your explanations and playing are super helpful.
Thank you so much and glad they help!
Awesome video man. My mom randomly bought me bongos today and I think this is going to be a fun hobby

Is a good way to learn a solid base for bachata and funk patterns. 👍🏽
Thanks, I keep watching this simple but useful class. Im practicing with my bongo cajón but later I will buy a good set of bongos!!
Always practice the basic bro. I can dig it. It's like Kung Fu. Basics are stability. Nice one dude I enjoyed it. Basico.

Amazing sound and amazing bongos... Moperc is a spectacular brand.
This is amazing! Loved the pattern.
Nothing wrong with going back to the basics. That's what everything else is built on anyway.
I really like your energy, and the info is made very clear and understandable. I definitely had to subscribe
Sorry for your loss my brother. God rest is soul. Your brother in Christ… CONGA JACK.

My sincere sympathny.
I still teach percussion 50 years later.
It actually had a little cumbia feel too along with martillo. That was too cool!
Very good! Want to try it. Started few days ago with Bongos! Greetings from Germany!
Id love a video on self-care, ergonomics, and how to position/mount the bongos/yourself.
Thanks bro, you really helped me get started with this one! :)
This is like the born of the martillo....😊👏👏👏
Hermosa progresión. Excelente maestro. Solamente si me lo permites, en castellano por favor.
Hey brother love the video thanks for the tips, any particular brand of bongos that you can recommend?
I need to learn to play this instrument. Please, make a list of videos.
😊❤ great, thank you from switzerland
Wish this video was out when I was trying to learn the Martillo , would've made it a lot easier to understand.
I am inspired by your teaching. I want to create music on my own.❤
Great stuff, thank you!
Nicely done.
Thank you. Great teaching.
Thank you so much for us beginners!

Very nice, and thanks.
You're so great. Thank you!
I could have sworn that was you at the puna sea view drum circle Hawaii .
In order to use your conga-like technique that you show in other videos, is it better to buy large-size congos ?
Hey bro. I really like your teachings. Do you think you could do Samba pa ti by Santana on Bongo. I got the first rythem down, but I've been struggling with the second. I could really use some help.
Thank goodness
i don't own a bongo but i do own two congas. can i 'kinda' play the bachata rhythm without the conga instead?
Yes I love it!
What speed aka beats per minute on the metronome is the goal (just counting the pulse not the "+".? Thank you for sharing the video.
Inmenso abrazo
Very helpful..Thank You
Great exercise. Thx for sharing. 😍
Love it!
¡Excelénte!
I am your fan
What height should the bongo be at on a stand? Is the a certain posture or position for long-term playing? Any stand recommendations?
epic. how long to do your hair bra? it's swift! much love, great vid.
🤣🤣🤣 thanks bro!
Great video! Thank you. Dominant vs non-dominant is the magic info, I'm thinking.

cool..
I got IT 😂😂😂👐
This will be the most important bongo lesson I learnt
Often the simple patterns are most effective.
Th most important lesson is -- DAY -O! Daylight come and me want go home.
