Not to mention the HELL op went thru when the book came out. It was literally ruining her life. She really needs a lawyer. She can at the very least get a case and desist for both the doctor and employer Eta....I don't blame op for not wanting to lawyer up. I totally understand just trying to get they the day. But at a certain point it almost seems like it's just getting worse and worse. I hope op finds peace and that she either finds a wonderful new job or they apologize and make it right. Damn both of those stories today were INTENSE
@@nyxspiritsong5557 filing a lawsuit and going through the court process can be difficult and time consuming if OP went after the doctor however the publisher is different. I would at the very least call the publisher and get the book removed from their list and deprive that doctor of any profit from it. That won't take the kind of mental fortitude as a defamation case.
That first story is CRAZY. I hope they win when this gets to court. I was wondering if OP could have had their lawyer tell Mr & Mrs Loco that they Are having a paternity test done, just to draw out a more peaceful time, like lie in order to calm them down? Use excuse after excuse until a case is built & baby is born! OP said that she "Just Wants It Over"! Then Just Do The Test! I Absolutely wouldn't because of principal, privacy & embarrassment and more! As it is her right for Any reason or even No reason, OP should stand her ground BUT Mr & Mrs Loco are taking it too far for OP's comfort And they, have to consider the baby she's carrying, her other children, her & the whole family's safety, and And her in laws business & it's reputation! OP Said "I wish we could get this done & over faster" Dugh, do the test! It would possibly be over as soon as the results are in! Of Course Mrs Loco would probably say that OP cheated on the test😂!!! If they had enough money, I think it would be a good idea to take a baby moon with the older kids to a secret vacation, secret from the Loco couple, only!
The girl has made tno threats or shown any sign of being dangerous and only believes this because he told her he had an affair, it's really obvious, he even tried to make their mutual friends believe he was the father, it's all him, its not even wrong of her to believe this when its definitely what she has been told.@@develyntwocentshenderson5739
The sad thing is is even if they DO get a paternity test to prove it, the crazy girlfriend would not believe it, she's going to assume that they doctored it
The worst part is that her now ex turn out to be freaking awful but I guess the lime light is that he at least showed his true colors on how he saw op before tieing the knot.
@@Lestaticate she violated her own privacy when she identified herself. There was no HIPAA violation nor was it unethical as discussing case studies is standard practice with learning from each other.
@@ZomBeeQueeen Yeah, that I get as one of the commenter’s in the doctor’s field confirmed, but she also stated they’re not supposed to use information that could blatantly identify the patent. It was supposed to be totally anonymous, in this case it wasn’t.
Yeah, that consent form was meaningless given they were there to attend therapy for severe trauma and to be assessed for psychiatric illness. They weren't in a fit mental state to give informed consent and even the consent form itself may be illegal if it was so subtly hidden within other disclaimers that OP didn't even realise what they were signing. I'm not a lawyer but I've worked in case building for financial services complaints and you could drag almost business through the coals for that shady BS. The fact that OP was identified from the book and outed as the subject gives them an even stronger case that they were not sufficiently anonomised. I knew a guy that wrote his memoirs. To get around data protection laws he never published it during his lifetime and the manuscript is in storage, to be published 50 years after his death. By that time most of the other people mentioned will also be long dead. He's keeping the thing locked away like state secrets until there's no way that even his descendants can't get sued. It must be juicy.
It may not be legal. For a case report with anecdotes to be published, there must be informed consent involved, not just the documentation of consent. The therapist likely failed to give OP true informed consent, as she failed to disclose what OP was agreeing to/signing and didn't confirm that OP understood what would be published. An argument that could also be made (depending on the situation and/or diagnosis) is that OP could not even give consent in the first place due to them actively experiencing a mental health crisis when signing the consent form. Competency and mental capacity must be taken into account in these situations, as those experiencing mental health episodes/crises than impact cognition and judgment often can't legally give consent to treatment. I assume it's the same for situations that involve the publication of case reports and/or anecdotes. The published information was also obviously way too identifiable, which would likely give OP appropriate grounds to sue. (Edited for spelling errors. Sorry if I missed any.)
@@akemiflameborg there was no hippa violation as she had no identifiable information shared. Op was an idiot and played herself by divulging the information on her own.
A complete manipulative move by the friend in hoping he gets op one day and he seem very good at it when getting a girl who has no self love for herself.
@pippo17173 I guess he is a narcissist, and his girlfriend is a borderline . It geve him a ego boost to drive her crazy. I bet he chose the Cafe on purpose.
Story 2 - That doctor is unethical as hell, even if what she did was “legal”. No doctor should be allowed to sneak in information like that when treating patients who are under extreme emotional distress, it should have been made verbally clear to OP what was included because when you’re in that bad of a mental space and concerned you might hurt yourself, you likely aren’t in a space to read extreme fine print. They sound like the kind of doctor who only goes into practice for the money and image. Edit to add: glad she got fired, I’m so sorry OP has to deal with all this crap that the former doctor pulled
A lot of contracts can be nulled if the person signing is “under duress”. Again it requires a lawyer but a lot of these cases could be solved if the lawyer can proof thenperson signed the document under duress, underaged (yeah, a lot of these contracts are not viable for children. That is why many include parent/guardian), or not with full mental capabilities (such as under the influence).
@@fallingawayfromthenorm its not a hippa violation nor is it unethical. There was no identifiable information provided until op identified herself. She’s a moron
Also, in many cases it doesn't matter if she signed something allowing the book if she is recognisable which automatically constitutes a breach of her privacy rights🤔
OP needs to report her therapist to whichever licensing body she's with. It seems that she reallly exploited someone who badly needed help. Getting help shouldn't rely on the client having to agree to releasing personal info about them. It makes no sense to not give a diagnosis because she thinks that her client's mental health would spiral but then release personal info that would be harmful to the client and cause her life to explode. Her boss should be reported to HR. I hope OP moves past this.
Right?!! It's exactly the same as if a parent KNOWS their kid need extra mental health help, but chooses to chain the kid to a bed, or lock them in a closet. And now the boss is spilling all of OPs T in the workplace?!!! Glad the "doctor" was fired. Truly wish OP all the safety and peace in the world moving forward
Well, while I'm not sure if it's really a crime or not it's stupidly common for therapists/psychologist to just not tell their patients when they've made a diagnosis for various reasons. Some of them being what OPs "therapist" listed. The whole "I don't believe in diagnosis only treatment" thing is sadly common among certain types of therapist and because a lot of people don't know their rights around therapy or their in too fragile of a state to do anything legally they're never held accountable. I had to report an old therapist because I had been fighting for a PTSD diagnosis only to find she already made the diagnosis months ago without telling me. After I reported her I got news that they had found other "concerning behavior" that lead to her being disbarred or whatever the term is for a therapist not being allowed to practice again
It is legal to withhold medical information if it is considered to be in the patient's best interests. I'm something of an expert in the UK data protection laws specifically but a lot of countries follow similar key points. The main reasons to legally withhold information from someone about themselves is for prevention or detection of crime and for their or someone else's safety. So if the healthcare professional thinks that knowing their diagnosis is going to tip a patient over the edge and cause them to try to end themselves they'll just not tell them. They can redact lines of text from medical records before disclosing copies too. In most professions, sensitive information like that gets labelled "do not disclose" in big letters. It also means that if they report you to the police, to social services, or try to get you sectioned that can get hidden from you too.
@@Draggonny Yeah, if there is someone in actual live threatning danger. Which as far as we know was nog the case. I also do not really take the UK that seriously when it concerns to privacy laws, since they’ve shown not to give a fuck the last decade.
S2: As a therapist, it is considered within the realm of professional practice to write about and publish patients' stories for educational purposes, BUT there is not supposed ANY identifying information. The stories are NOT anecdotes, and should not be written as such. They're called vignettes, which many psych students use to learn in the classroom or practicing therapists use to continue professional growth, and should be disclosed in such a way that readers take it as a sanitized, psych story, not juicy gossip. When I was in grad school, we used the text "the boy who was raised as a dog." It was a series of vignettes about disrupted child development. Things that actually happened, but it was not written as sensational stories.
No court would ever order a paternity test when the married parents of a baby are in agreement that the husband is the father, and this male “friend” denies ever sleeping with the wife in the first place! This would never take place just to placate some psycho girlfriend.
The thing is that this male friend is the one feeding those ideas to his girlfriend, at a party he was trying to feed this idea to the friends there as well as saying OP's husband is controlling and abusive, the friends at the party shot those ideas down. This guy is the mastermind behind all of this.
S1: "She is demanding a paternity test "if we have nothing to fear." Response: "I have nothing to fear and nothing to prove. Unless you are contesting paternity and planning to pay child support, you can not demand a paternity test. Cease the harassment or we will get a restraining order." If you take a paternity test and they don't get the results they expect, they won't believe them/will think you cheated the test. I've seen it multiple times. S2: Sue the shit out of her for malpractice and hipaa violations. See if you can also get a part of the royalties, if you can't have the book recalled (not sure if either are possible). I repeat: Sue. It has destroyed your life. Sue the ex too. It was also not his business to share.
First story: agree to the DNA test but require him to put $20,000 in escrow. Draw up a contract which says “friend” pays for the test and if the test shows that the “friend” is actually the father, he gets his money back. But if the test shows that he is not the father, she keeps the $20,000. That will force the girlfriend and “friend” to put up or shut up.
That last commenter had so many good points. Ya, unfortunately its easy for people to take advantage of and misstreat people with chronic mental and physical illnesses precisely because having those makes it so we just dont have the energy to fight back a lot of the time.
and conversely, I see far too many mentally ill people hide behind their disability... they demonstrate that they are aware that what they are doing is wrong. they know right from wrong. that to me is the test: they know what they are doing is wrong, they are punished to the full extent of the law. too bad if they have issues. they may get treatment in prison, such as it is. their thinking is crazy. but they know they are wrong
@@develyntwocentshenderson5739 those are good points, but i was thinking legally and financially. Like in the story where op couldn't do much legally even if it would have been possible because they didn't have the spare energy. They were hurt and would probably have legal recourse if they weren't dealing with a chronic illness that saps all their strength.
First Story: Some people are just unhinged. I speak from experience. I had a relationship before my husband, however, it ended 3 yrs before I met my husband. My husband and I have been together for 20 1/2 yrs. Since my kiddo was little I have had to argue with people about my child being my ex’s. Despite the fact we stopped dating 3 years before I met my husband and I hadn’t seen the guy in years and the first time I did I was 8 months pregnant. My kiddo is now almost 20 and I still hear the BS. It doesn’t matter what I say they don’t stop. Like I said some people are just unhinged.
@@12savage68 LOL initially it was not anyone in my life but people in my exes life. Last year I found out there were some people in my life that were saying this behind my back. They are no longer in my life.
Something I wanted to say about Story 2 is that I’ve seen how long that cases that people think should be open and shut can be dragged on for, and I don’t think that OP had the mental capacity to handle that. I’m just hoping that OP will be able to finally be free of all this
Unfortunately it is NOT a violation of HIPAA, as the doctor did not include actually personally identifiable information. That legally includes name, address, phone number, DOB, SSN... It's a shame but legally the doctor is protected there HOWEVER, a good lawyer can fight that she couldn't legally consent to anything beyond care while of unsound mind. She should still sue, just not for HIPAA. She can also sue her employer. Doesnt matter if they have an HR department.
Story 1, i didnt bother to say this the first time around but a simple 'we were out of the country for an extended time during sons conception. The child isn't your boyfriends. Further contact will lead to legal action.' Would possibly have de escalated the crazy.
Doc should be sued for abuse of power. Having you sign permission to publish when you are not legally “sound of mind” should ruin her and she should be financially required to compensate you.
That poor op in story 2. Not just the doc who broke hippa and told her trauma to the world...but for the trashy ex boyfriend to do that to this poor girl to make her life even more hell is utterly insane.
2nd Story - Yeah, no, sue. 100%. Do not hesitate. I had a doctor vaguepost about me as a child going to him for a diagnosis (physical disability that was seen as rare at the time). Never dropped names, but the timing was enough for people who saw his myspace (yes that old) posts to connect the dots. I literally had teachers treat me differently because they thought my parents were lying about my disability (which was quickly shut down when I had to wear knee braces for a while). Thing is, while he no longer works with social security, he is still a doctor. He just went from general practitioner to *gynecologist.* Yeah. Sue, make sure that therapist *never* works in the medical field again, and contact the publisher to make sure future prints of the book don't have your issues anymore.
Story 2: I would just change my name and move out the city. Delete all social media and start fresh. Change my number and everything. That would be the only way to deal with that. And the ex who is going around telling everyone OP’s business… may he stub his toe every time he turns a corner, and have a string of shitty, mediocre relationships. 😡
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that expecting a mentally unwell patient to be in a clear enough headspace to give consent to that kind of invasive agreement is kind of predatory.
Goddamn.. both stories are absolutely horrifying. Hope both, first family and OP2 will be fine. I personally wish they both sue/d the ever living F out of their abusers*. Especially second OP. Tho it it is their decision to make and it makes sense, like the last comment said. Hope the case for first family goes well. The insanity is crazy.
What that "therapist" did is horrible. You can't sign away your rights to have your trauma you told in confidence to be shared. She ruined OP's life. And her ex and the people making fun of her for what she went through also deserve hell to be paid to them
First story (before update): what I would've told the GF is "if you want a paternity test then pay it yourself, I won't spend money in proving you are wrong when I know I'm right". But that may not work either because gf already proved she's unhinged.
I don’t blame OP 3 for just wanting this to go away without them pursuing legal actions. Mental illness is exhausting without all of the shit they’re going through.
Second story pisses me off. I've had doctors say they don't want to diagnose me because they'd rather treat the symptoms, but that often causes issues receiving adequate treatment. Sometimes, finding out the right diagnosis makes for better treatment because you'll better understand what's causing the symptom and treat the cause more accurately (similar symptoms can be cause by different things). Having the diagnosis on file is also important incase you are in a situation where a different medical professional needs to know your medical history. Lastly, knowing the diagnosis yourself as a patient is important so you can better understand yourself and what's going on. Also, I get that she signed the form that gave consent, but part of informed consent is making sure that your patient truly knows what they are agreeing to. When you know that your patient is going through a mental health crisis, you know they likely can't give consent to such a thing. She also could've waited to ask afterwards when she first planned to publish (assuming that she had started planning after her appointments with OP). Lastly, she could've sat down and properly explained what was she was asking OP to sign before actually having signed it. This has always been the case for me when having to sign any consent forms in a medical and/or theraputic setting. That therapist knows what she did was shady as fuck. Also, OPs ex and his friends have a special place in hell waiting for them. God forbid they themselves ever go through an abusive or traumatic situation that causes them embarrassing symptoms of PTSD. How cruel. Edit: Holy fuck. Fuck that boss as well. Whats wrong with people??????
Story 2: what a loser of boyfriend to know that stuff was in the book, read it anyway and then weaponise that info against OP, ultimately forcing her to move. Just imagining that level of betrayal is painful. I’ve told my partners in the past that i have issues with intimacy due to something that happened in my childhood (just so they know why i may break down or suddenly stop during sx). To have one of them be told that, then turn around and tell everyone would be so painful
Story 2: that sounds like a lawyer's wet dream right there if they can prove that you were in no fit position to sign documents concerning your health and privacy.
Story 2: Her ex-boyfriend should also face prosecution because he doxed her and denigrated her reputation (laws are quickly progressing to protect victims of this, and in the U.S. vary by state). *The manager who revealed details regarding her health to her coworkers was exceedingly in the wrong and the company under which they were employed would most likely offer to settle out of court because holy sh*t!*
Dude. If that psych worker was in the US, that is a HUGE HIPPA violation!! Publishing a clients personal story, regardless of whether of being named or not, diagnosed or not, is disgusting! As a continual therapy attender, I would be furious and filing a complaint with the clinic, book in hand. Start there. Let the board investigate the rest.
Story 2: This is above Reddit's pay level.. You need to consult a lawyer to have them determine if the info in the book warrants any kind of legal action or not. Story 2 (OP's comments): Wait so she diagnosed you and refused to tell you......Every patient has the right to know their diagnosis and it is the therapist/psychiatrists job to tell them and help them get the proper treatment. This alone was enough for her to lose her license. Story 2 (update): Well now you for sure have a cause of action. A clause like that is illegal in a patient contract (well at least in the USA).
^ as stated above. Plus the original OP apparently said they do not want their newest updates spread around in other forums/subs/etc, which the Boru sub seems to have respected.
Story 2 is heartbreaking. That doctor is such an ah who took advantage of OP’s mental state to sell a book, ruining Op’s life in the process. I think OP may still have a case. And they definitely have a case against her boss-since this is discrimination.
What is happening in story 2? Her boss, her ex, the original doctor? Definitely ask to see that document you signed. I wouldn't be surprised if she had lied about you signing something that released that information, and even if it is in there, I'm almost positive it would be inadmissible in a court of law. How cruel of...literally everyone in OP's life to be treating her this way! I hope OP can get away from everyone.
Story 1 is nuts. That 'friend' better just dump the crazy chick and stay the heck away, and you need to get a restraining order. There's ZERO reason to have anything to do with EITHER of these people, and she has no right as a rando to demand anything from you.
S2: I kinda think Op should consider going to a lawyer when she feels well enough. The therapist is extremely wrong. And who would further torment someone who went through trauma. Op can and SHOULD also sue her work place!!!
If I was OP in Story 2, I would have denied everything and told all the so-called friends that the ex-boyfriend was a head case himself for thinking the person in the book was OP.
#1; given how the mutual friends talk about about the former friend, I wonder if his GF is as unhinged as she seems, or if she's been fed a very different narrative.
I feel so bad for both OP’s. But the ex and the doctor in the second story make my blood boil. As do all of the people who looked down on OP for surviving trauma. Jerks.
In the update, OP said she got the therapist fired. She should go after the publisher too. Because their publishing of a book where the details were such that the patient could be identified who did not consent to their publishing the material and is directly causing emotional distress.
I feel like the dude that had the crush is crazy and he told the girlfriend some messed up lies, she's also a little crazy but I feel like just explaining to her that you physically could not have conceived with him while you were out of the country could have solved the entire thing.
Obsessive people are nuts! No pun intended. The fact that it literally comes out of nowhere... I know it is more common than anyone thinks. Scary. Especially when you have little ones in the crossfire. 😢
Op get a lawyer. HIPPA laws are just for this. The biggest problem is that if you draw more attention to the “doctor “ the more books will be sold. Verify that you did sign giving approval.
Ah deluded people. "I'm justified because the fantasy in my head has given me the moral high ground, and that's more important than any laws, boundaries, reality," etc.
S2: Yeah, my former best friend did this after ghosting me. It’s horrific to find out that your trauma just makes you a juicy muse to some people. There’s not much you can do, sadly 😬
oh god. That poor second OP. Hang in there, buddy, there are a lot of people out there who actually get it and will respect you regardless of knowing that information or not.
I had a story like the first one not that long ago, dude I used to be friends with apparently told everyone we were dating and that we'd broken up when there was absolutely nothing romantic ever between us. It's so disgusting to be in a situation like that and I hate him now more then I ever did before. Only reason I even found out was because other people we were mutually friends with started asking why I was on a dating site after 'breaking up two days ago', serious stalker feeling.
Story 2 is blowing my mind. I don’t know what country this person is in but I’m fairly confident this is a HIPPA violation in the US. They need to sue this doctor and her employer for throwing her personal business out there. Also got major 🚩 off of the comment that the doctor “doesn’t believe in diagnosing”.
Why is everyone ignoring that the OP never told the woman that its impossible the ex friends the father as they were abroad. We are acting like she beleives this for no reason when we know the ex friend is confessing to a made up affair. He's been undermining her with his bullshit and all the OP says is he's not the father, not "we werent in the country" Why wouldn't you start with that like a reasonable person. Everyone is acting like the GF knows all this, like theyve reasoned with her, they never did, not once.
i'm also from ny and have had some Wild experiences with seemingly Everyone feeling entitled to knowledge of my mental health. when i was a kid even, one of the teachers (still don't know who, i never cared to find out) let slip why i was out of school for weeks; i had another kid directly have a laugh at me for OD'ing to try and off myself 💀 even nowadays, i have weird experiences up here! i had a doctor a year ago learn during a visit for a physical illness that i had psychosis (i had to disclose my meds, one was an antipsychotic, i'm not even on it anymore bc it's That unserious) and bro said. "you Seem normal right now, but if you start thinking about Hurting people, we'll have to do an intake." haven't forgotten the word for word because it was so gobsmacking. people tell you that the mental healthcare and how people treat mental illness in this state is great, and it's like... sometimes, yeah. but when it goes wrong, it goes like Seriously wrong and people act utterly deranged about it.
29:23 that's a violation of hipaa, no need for a lawsuit, contact hipaa enforcement. The boss in the story also violated hipaa, medical info of any kind is illegal.
Holy crap, OP in story 2 should be retaining a lawyer. As others have said, there was no informed consent. That doctor is straight up predatory, taking advantage of people in their vulnerability. Edit: I'm so glad OP got the doctor fired!!!! I wish nothing but the best for the OP!
Story 1: I need an update about the former friend and his crazy stalker gf. Story 2: Always sue and cause a storm when Hippa is violated. And with the paper op alledgedly signed at the first sessions is a red flag, like the therapist always planned to use confidential information to their own gain. So sad for OP since everyone around her is a pos, the psychiatrist, old ex, recent ex, former friends, boss and coworkers.
28:11 honestly my take away from seeing a psychiatrist was don’t trust a psychiatrist. They are not in it to actually help you. They’re in it to self-serve their career.
Psych book story, op needs to speak with an employment lawyer and they'll likely recommend a lawyer for criminal charges against the Dr, ex boss and ex. Edit re that last comment, HR ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. They work for the company, not you. Get all correspondence with hr in writing, and seek an employment lawyer. They ARE working on your best interests, not the companies.
That story about the worlds worst therapist. Even if a form was signed, I feel like there’s still a lawsuit for mental anguish. And for withholding diagnostic information against a patient’s consent. Maybe someone should write about the time a therapist ruined their patient’s life for clout. I am sick and disgusted by this. That’s an abusive therapist in my opinion, using their position to be with people in their most vulnerable states to take advantage of them. Form or no form, this should not have happened to OP. Also OP’s recent ex sucks for life. If I found out my bf was too weak to stay with me knowing my trauma and my problems I’d leave him in a heart beat. We don’t need weak and toxic people in our lives.
My doctor did this as well. I am in some books somewhere because he thought one day I would grow up to be Trans and he wanted to be a pioneer in this field. He wanted to study the brain of a youth before they transitioned. Only issue is none of that ever happened.
The ex friend is obsessed with op and has probably told his gf that they used to hook up. He's likes that his gf believes that they may have had a relationship and is feeding into the delusions while everyone else shuts it down. He really wants to take up space in OP's head anyway possible.
Just a PSA to anyone seeing a therapist: if they try to claim they don't believe in diagnosis, they won't give you one, or you found out they didn't tell you about a diagnosis they gave leave and report them immediately. A therapist is supposed to help you heal and better understand yourself, not withhold critical information or decide when you get to learn what's wrong with you. A diagnosis helps YOU; it not only gives a sense of validation but it can lead you to actually improving. There are some issues you just can't solve with regular therapy and without a diagnosis you cannot get the help you need. Without a diagnosis it's harder to find coping skills that work, it's harder to understand why you are the way you are, it's harder to find people to connect to, and it's harder to be kind to yourself about your struggles. Get the diagnosis, heal, improve, and go on with life. You can and will get better
Story 2 I hope she can talk to a lawyer one more time saying that lawyer can record this ONE time and work from the recording. What you signed won't stand up in court, and she should lose her license for this habit. 2. the books can be recalled. Lawyer will know. Dr. has to prove she did nothing wrong and I don't think she can. Defamation of character is just the start. The way this has impacted you today is what will sink her little ship. Don't forget to add BF to the defamation part.
Also fact with the second story, the stress of a legal battle even if you have a lawyer is bonkers. Like I have a lawyer for my disability and even tho he's handled it the whole process on my end of will I won't I when will I get back pay will they pay me the right amount is STRESS. And if you have anything impacted by stress (like mental health issues chronic illnesses etc) the impact is huge. I don't blame OP for not wanting to lawyer up and just be done😊
S1: Oh. This story! Unhinged behavior all around on the part of the ex-friend and his psycho GF. I hope they back off or the courts MAKE THEM. S2: File a complaint, this is a HIPPA violation and SUE.
Story 2: I’m so sick of this idea that withholding a diagnosis is somehow helpful in mental health. I’m sure there are some cases where this is required but this shouldn’t be the norm. Having a name for what you’re going through can help you process and find ways to manage it.
Oh shit. I’m in the process of seeking out a psychiatrist, so now I know to keep an eye out for clauses like that. Oh my god, OP 2’s life was literally ruined.
Story 2 is malpractice - you can't give informed consent when you're mentally unwell & seeking treatment. That therapist did more harm than help.
Not to mention the HELL op went thru when the book came out. It was literally ruining her life.
She really needs a lawyer. She can at the very least get a case and desist for both the doctor and employer
Eta....I don't blame op for not wanting to lawyer up. I totally understand just trying to get they the day.
But at a certain point it almost seems like it's just getting worse and worse. I hope op finds peace and that she either finds a wonderful new job or they apologize and make it right.
Damn both of those stories today were INTENSE

Consent isn't really necessary here, theres still a good chance of winning a civil suit though.

They both are. They need to stay together and leave the rest of the world alone tbh
@@develyntwocentshenderson5739 I am convinced ex-friend is as well. Talk about a match made in hell.
The sad thing is is even if they DO get a paternity test to prove it, the crazy girlfriend would not believe it, she's going to assume that they doctored it
Probably, but maybe that will give them enough evidence that she is unstable to have her involuntarily committed.
Story 2: I’m so freaking LIVID for OP. Her private life has been violated by so many people it’s baffling.
That woman in story 2 should lose her license. Sue her. I can't believe what she did was legal. And the boss, oh my god, what a mess...
After the ex friend’s behavior at the reunion I think I can say for certain that he fed some delusion to his girlfriend that she instantly gobbled up.
Story 2… is it even legal to keep someone’s diagnosis from them? That seems like a control tactic to keep using the same therapist.
In most western countries, unless the person is a minor it is very illegal to withhold that information from them.
"He traveled to your city alone and now I understand why" Damn that's crazy, I didn't know you could get people pregnant from a different country.
S1: "She is demanding a paternity test "if we have nothing to fear."
Response: "I have nothing to fear and nothing to prove. Unless you are contesting paternity and planning to pay child support, you can not demand a paternity test. Cease the harassment or we will get a restraining order."
If you take a paternity test and they don't get the results they expect, they won't believe them/will think you cheated the test.
The first story, the friend probably talks about the OP constantly
Did you husband ever get a paternity test?
@@12savage68 no he never needed one. We worked together and saw each other every day. Plus I never gave him a reason to not trust me.
@@bgarciamcclellan so how are you hearing the child isn't his 20 years later ? Who are these unhinged people you choose to say in contact with?
@@12savage68 LOL initially it was not anyone in my life but people in my exes life. Last year I found out there were some people in my life that were saying this behind my back. They are no longer in my life.
Something I wanted to say about Story 2 is that I’ve seen how long that cases that people think should be open and shut can be dragged on for, and I don’t think that OP had the mental capacity to handle that. I’m just hoping that OP will be able to finally be free of all this
And may their ex step on all the sharp Legos
Crazy girlfriend: The kid is a boy and boyfriend is a boy ergo he must be the father.
Yeah that's not how that works.
Story 2 is a clear violation of confidentiality. I would consult with a lawyer. It mystifies me that a publisher would publish this book.
Story 1: i would sue her for defamation immediately
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that expecting a mentally unwell patient to be in a clear enough headspace to give consent to that kind of invasive agreement is kind of predatory.
The book story.... That should be under HIPPA. I'd suggest you call ADA and see if they know anything to help you out.
Goddamn.. both stories are absolutely horrifying.
Op's ex I quickly catch on in *Op, your fiance already hates you to begin with, he now got a excuse to do it since its now public.*
How has ex freind not broken up with this girl, she’s literally getting sued for being crazy.
Markee there’s a whole lot more to story one please do the updates.

Story 2 is heartbreaking.
That doctor is such an ah who took advantage of OP’s mental state to sell a book, ruining Op’s life in the process.
I think OP may still have a case. And they definitely have a case against her boss-since this is discrimination.
Story 2- regardless of any contract that right there is evil, that therapist needs her liscense pulled permanently, and to go to prison
That psychologist is unethical as hell. The OP should report her to the ethics board.
The second one dude sounds really illegal, you weren't in the right state of mind even if she wasn't lying about you signing.
OMG everyone in this woman's life is letting her down and exploiting her.
Title is wild. THEY'RE demanding a paternity test? Wouldn't the dude know if he's slept with OP or not?
I feel so bad for both OP’s. But the ex and the doctor in the second story make my blood boil. As do all of the people who looked down on OP for surviving trauma. Jerks.
Markee if there is a future update on Story 1 can you please cover the update? I'm worried for this family.
Crazy will never listen to logic. She would literally just scream OP is a liar and demand a paternity test to “prove it”.
Former friend needs to dump his psycho GF and get his ass to therapy.
The stamps in their passports should prove they were no where near each other
S2: Yeah, my former best friend did this after ghosting me. It’s horrific to find out that your trauma just makes you a juicy muse to some people. There’s not much you can do, sadly 😬
America, perfect. Do the test and sue for slander
She dodged a bullet with that boyfriend.
god i hope somebody helps OP2 pro bono
i wish her ex and friends ,boss, everyone who screwed OP over the worst !!!
Markee: "And now on to the update...." Ad starts "This is the mark of a warrior...." That story makes me feel like it's a promo for JOKER 2.
He's been undermining her with his bullshit and all the OP says is he's not the father, not "we werent in the country"
Why wouldn't you start with that like a reasonable person.
Everyone is acting like the GF knows all this, like theyve reasoned with her, they never did, not once.
OP should tell her current Therapist about what her old Therapist did. They might be able to help find or direct her to the appropriate ethics board.
The doctor that wrote the book is the worst. Considering how hard it can be to open up in therapy in the first place.
Christ this one was rough. I really feel for the OPs and wish nothing but good things for them
Story 2, its stories like this that make me wonder what jordan petersons former patients that he wrote unkindly about, think of his work
"Hello random stranger, I demand you take a paternity test and inform me of the results. " yeah let me know how that works out random strangers.
i'm also from ny and have had some Wild experiences with seemingly Everyone feeling entitled to knowledge of my mental health. when i was a kid even, one of the teachers (still don't know who, i never cared to find out) let slip why i was out of school for weeks; i had another kid directly have a laugh at me for OD'ing to try and off myself 💀
even nowadays, i have weird experiences up here! i had a doctor a year ago learn during a visit for a physical illness that i had psychosis (i had to disclose my meds, one was an antipsychotic, i'm not even on it anymore bc it's That unserious) and bro said.
Story 2. That is against HIPPA regulations. Talk to a lawyer.
Boss violated her rights!
Story one: boy howdy does OP live rent free in this guys head. Fuuuck what an absolute nightmare
That therapist exploited her
Story 2 I hope she can talk to a lawyer one more time saying that lawyer can record this ONE time and work from the recording.
S2: File a complaint, this is a HIPPA violation and SUE.
this episode is like the nightmare episode, both stories sound like the stuff of nightmares
I do believe we all need help and I feel so bad for OP in story 2!
Second story - contact a lawyer and let them do their job! they will handle everything after that 🙏
Story 1: Man, too bad tidal wave baseball bats are banned in the US. If anyone doesn't know, tidal wave bats are metal bats with water inside.
Story 2: Dr is Narcissistic (oh, the irony), & the bf is pure evil.
