In the Lake tapes those are poor innocent women being tortured, I remember one of them had their baby taken away by Lake (tho I think he killed it iirc), I've seen enough stuff on the internet to be able to imagine how fked up the unreleased footage is

For me 3 guys 1 hammer is the worst. Like sure there is funky town, Chechnya beheadings and ISIS stuff and more. But seeing this old helpless and innocent man being murdered like an animal after having survived cancer and just the vile act of it made me lose my faith in humanity.

I suffer from a lot of issues, and every time I see something like this, it adds to the list of things that flash before my eyes every time I try to sleep. He got convicted of murder anyway so I don't get the "EU thing" part. I'm sure if it happened in the US there would be a similar scramble for what they could charge him with under the unusual circumstances and it looks like the German police figured it out eventually.
Regarding the case itself, the guy was actively seeking out someone to play out this fantasy and had he not done that, the other guy might would likely be alive. Not to mention the mental illness aspect and any other number of crimes that must have been committed like improper handling of a corpse etc. It might not be a simple murder but you can't let people do stuff like this.
