  • Standard poorly shot video of total nonsense of what I learnt in the process of breaking expensive car parts to fix something I thought should be easy. I’m probably way off on a load of it but it’s what I did so it might help.

    Great video, really detailed - appreciate it. Just removed 5 injectors from my 05 transporter 230,000 2.5 BNZ this afternoon , found top seals failing plus higher wear in injector bore nearest tandem pump. Also have cam and rocker wear....also on the list. Cheers

    I’m doing my injector seals this weekend. I’ve watched a video and he mentioned nothing that you have, in fact i was left under the impression the injector clamp bolts were 20 nm, not 3. I have a 1.9 ATD, 118500 miles on it but it’s 21 years old. I’m getting a lot of blue/whote smoke on start up (cold) and I can smell the oil in the fumes. Also my oil stinks of diesel. I’ve bought OEM seal kit and new injector clamp bolts, and rocker cover gasket. I’m glad you said rocker arm bolts are 20 nm then 90°. I’m lucky that 2 miles from my house is “just German parts” who only sell OEM. Thanks for this video 🤙🏼
    Edit 14/7/24… I got in touch with Darkside developments over torque settings, the injector clamp bolts are 12NM + 270°. Did my seals yesterday and all is well now.

    You can use the camshaft sensor to setup the injector lash. Just look at a camshaft gear a metal piece sticking out thats the cam signal for injection. If you turn the engine to the camshaft sensor and the metal piece line up with the camshaft sensor middle part thats when the injector is fully compressed. (Always the first part need to line up)

    Replaced my seals on injectors.
    Now im finding engine filling up sith diesel?

      You need to give the injectors a good tap to make sure they're seated correctly before setting the lash
