I know a woman who got a windmill put up to power her farm ,she told me the upkeep on it was higher than paying the power company!
And that is just one generic windmill. Imagine a field of several-stories-tall, blades bigger-than-a-semi-truck-with-trailer turbine.

@@mirelamarinescu7895 Fibreglass impregnated with epoxy is not recyclable. Wind turbines need to be replaced every 5 years or so, that's millions of tonnes of unrecyclable material being produced worldwide .
Nuclear power stations, once built, only takes tiny amounts of fuel, is super efficient and lasts for 30 years or more.

Those things are so alluring and beautiful from afar distance.
One of the greatest joys is when you finally reach the California state line, all you start seeing are the hundreds and hundreds of wind turbines rotating every every where. They are so beautiful. Like I said , from afar that is. For it freaks me out to get really close to them and see actually just how really huge enormous they are. To see the size of man standing next to them or on top on the blades is truly mind boggling .
We have millions in tx I don't like the design other countries have them and they are smaller and art like to watch and don't kill our birds and they do the same thing

Build a nuclear power plant, you can cover the spending in 4 years, build a wind turbine, you can benefit from it only if it runs 20 years as designed. If you don't get the money to buy a good one, don't buy it at all. Wind turbines are not a solution for poor countries to solve their energy shortage, and not a toy for low tech companies to build.

Being an engineer 1:12 really saddened my heart. It takes alot of time and resources in creating one of this fella. Imagine from where the raw material was collected and refined and then forged into mettalic cylinders, and the machined and turbine itself is a huge thing.
This is a death of human being to me.

It looks like the generators turn into giant DC Motors and continue to spin even with one blade missing and out of balance.

That look goodon paper, they plan it, have a model inside a room. They have no idea how the wind turbines suppose to work in real life. They are not equipped to deal with high winds.

I had the same problem with my perpetual motion machine. It would overspeed and fail. I finally gave up on it.

To be fair, most of these were under somewhat high wind conditions, meaning handheld cameras are going to be extra shaky if they don't have image stabilization built in. Even with image stabilization, there's a point at which any video will be shaky, just not as bad as without it.
I am glad that 8:05 proves just how deadly these wind turbines are to large birds of prey. I feel bad for the unfortunate (and probably endangered bird of prey), but I'm glad the public got to see it. These turbines are a menace! Fortunately, new designs are in the works.

And number 3 is why I don't want a big turbine within 2 km around my property.
Wonder what caused the 3rd one to smoke from the tip of the blade?
Wondering if they wanted to get rid of them,as their not that friendly to make for the environment and can't recycle them.so burn them down.the diesel helps to burn them imagine how much diesel fuel is used to truck the wind turbines to the areas of standing them up.
Number 4 is a controlled demolition, not a fail or mishap.

we build/transport these here in Michigan. it's not uncommon seeing a convoy of trucks used to transport just one of these things, with just one blade per "over sized" truck. the curvature can be easily seen when up close, and its remarkable the design. so simplistic and beautiful.

The second video was neither a mishap or a fail. They were tearing it down. You can see the cables from the bulldozer to the left and see that the foundation had been dug up. Take the first or the last video from the "ones that didn't quite make it" and you'll be golden, and edit that long one that it is on fire down to like 2-3min. That was hella boring. I skipped most of it to get to the good part.
