I've done unPAved a few times and really like it. Last year I took my son for his first official "ride/race". We did FunPAved and turned at the RR and back. It was a great day with my son. BTW nice channel. Liked & subscribed.
Thanks Jeff and that's awesome!! Yeah, I started cycling 2 years ago and did the FunPaved ride. Last year I did the 100. I just signed up (literally 6 minutes ago) and will do the 125. Let's goooo!!
That looks like so much fun, i wish we had something like that where i live. There's nothing but drunk drivers and stray dogs everywhere!
Ayeee, even on trails?
Great video. What tires where you running?
Thank you! Was really just getting into cycling there. I ran the WTB Riddler front and back. 700c X 37mm. Trek FX with this tire setup is such a great little bike on rail trails and light gravel terrain.
Thanks salute from Palm Springs Ca. I've been enjoying my fx mainly on paved roads. But looking into hitting some loose gravel trails and light terrain.
Also any recommendations on mph speedometer
I'm a Garmin guy, so I can personally recommend the Garmin Edge 530 (as shown in the video), or the Garmin Edge Explore 2 (the white one in my latest videos). Both are great.
Thanks for posting this, for coming out, for having such a good time, and hope to see you back in 2022 - or on a ride together sometime in between. Clink!
Yessir! Thanks for putting it together
very good my friend, there were different sorts of bikes MTB, route, etc, my like, greetings from Argentina
and gravel
Cheers from up in the 412, Pittsburgh PA! 🙋🏼♂️ That looked like a fun ride. That mud though. I don't recall a single set of fenders on the lot and the guy on the Marlin 6 was just too clean! 😂
Cheers dude! Thanks for the sub and recent comments! The main course (the full 95 and 125 milers) were ridiculously muddy. Was hilarious seeing how dirty everyone came back after their races. Amazing day
@@BIIIKES LOL. Yup, that's why I still ride a Marlin. They're like the Toyota Tacoma of bicycles; they'll take you anywhere. You won't get there fast but you'll get there.
Is the FX fast? Thinkin of gettin one for a commuter. Thanks
Hey Josh- yep, pretty quick. Only thing that would slow you down is just being a bit more upright than a dropbar bike, but it's definitely comfortable! Ask to take the FX out for a test ride. Trek has more bikes in stock again thankfully, so they may even let you take it for the day. 🤘 Keep me posted!
Nice video my friend 👍
Thank you!!! Was a fun time
Great video, looks like a fun race. I might need to do that next year
It was a great time! Definitely doing one of the longer races next year. I signed up for the shorter one 6 months ago, haha.
What FX were you riding
FX 2
Noice ! :))
Thanks! Was a fun time
That house you stayed in was reto cool Todd. Your new bike came just in time brotha. The event seemed well organized, bummed the weather didn't cooperate. The gravel seemed to hold up well in the wet, did you have any issues with the leaves? Glad the only issue you had was a simple GoPro fix. Nice job finishing your first gravel race and crewing your buddies late into the evening.
Thanks man! No issues with the leaves. Put on WTB Riddlers (700x37c) prior to the race. Really grippy yet fast rolling. The rain made it more epic, haha. I wish I would've done at least the 50 miler, but I signed up for it 6 months ago. 20+ miles was really far for me back then. 👍
Sweet video, appreciate it. What type of Trek bike do you have? What tour of GPS device?
Thanks, Frank! Trek FX 2 (should be a link to it in the description). I use a Garmin Edge 530 bike computer also. Thanks for stopping by!
Awesome, thanks for the response. Glad you were able to decipher my typo. I’m looking into the FX series as my next purchase…just trying to narrow it down. After testing the FX6, it has me hooked especially since I went in looking for a dual sport.
FX6 is LEGIT. Great components. Worth it if you want a road/gravel type bike with flat bars.
@@BIIIKES I picked up my FX6 last Friday and put 30 miles on it yesterday. A great first ride! I'm looking at bike computers...with your recommendation which would you get Garmin 530, 1030 plus or the new 1040?
Awesome!! I wouldn't go with the 1040 unless you'll be riding 24+ hrs at a time and need the solar charging lol. I use the 530 as it's NOT a touchscreen and a little more compact than the 1030. I prefer physical buttons while riding so I don't have to "aim" to push buttons. Some people prefer the 1030s size (easier to see), but you definitely pay for it. You can find the 530 on sale for $249.
which camera are you using it to video your ride ?
GoPro Hero 9 Black
Nice bro, I signed up for CX:Missing in Elkton next month. You going to that one?
Didn't hear of it. I'll have to look it up!
I might sign up for it too. Kinda pricey for what it is, bit should be fun.
@@BIIIKES if you do let me know. It would be my first gravel race and probably the last event of the year. That’s part of why I signed up.
@@chrissr318 nice! Will definitely do. You'll see me post about it in the FB group probably, haha. I think my wife is going to race it too 🤙
I signed up for it. Class C 👍
