I've played with the Pro Staff v13 for about 5 years and I switched to the RF 01 Pro. I think it's great. First of all, it has a lot more power and I had to increase the tension 5 lbs to control it. Once I found the right tension, the racket is just pure joy. It flies through the air. Much faster than the v13. I would disagree with your guest, the racket has a lot more spin potential than the v13 which is a slightly lighter version of the pro staff RF. The open string pattern helps deliver that. I also disagree about the sweet spot. It is clearly larger than the v13. It also is fantastic on volleys. I think it is superior to or as good as the v13 in every category. Of course, I use poly on the mains and multi on the crosses. I don't use natural gut on the mains and poly on the crosses like Fed does. So that might have some bearing on the difference of opinion on the racket performance.
They're comparing the PS RF (340g) to the RF Pro, not the regular PS (315g). Both rackets are also modded. So of course you guys would have different experiences, lol
It would be ignorent to think that in some way , that the Rf was not influenced by the pro staff . Federer has used the pro staff through many iterations that were specked for him . The pro staff RF was a varient influenced from his pro stock model . All federer knows is the pro staff and this varient is a consolidation of that influence . This R & D is a partnership with wilson's goals for the evolution of the line and the pro staff . Wilson needs to evolve the pro staff and the sales . This is why they have been chasing down federer . Wilsons own comments of the fed moving to an 98 if he did not retire is more of an obvious need to sell to the larger market . The rest is concoted marketing B.S . It is promoted to sell to the cult of fed . He is now synonymous with the pro staff now . Perhaps the other pro player can have an edition or influence in the pro staff specs too . The pro staff reflects an age of tennis that was not butcherd by todays self interests . It needs to be not waterd down but optimized to also be used in doubles and perfected .
I have been using the rackets of Roger Federer for the past 20 years and I’ve demoed this new RF 01 Pro last month. My serve and forehand has improved with more speed and spin, so I’m switching to this new RF 01 Pro.
Didn't the name Pro Staff disappear for a number of years after the Pro Staff Classic 6.1? I remember for a long time they came out with numerous iterations of 'Six One' racquets after that Pro Staff Classic 6.1 and the name 'Pro Staff' wasn't on those! Even though they were based on the Pro Staff (Classic 6.1), just like this RF is probably based on A Pro Staff. Or did I miss something ?
may I ask sir if what is the DT of roger's string setup, I wanna compare it with full bed of poly. Naturally a full bed of polly is stiffer but correct me if im wrong, nat gut on main and poly cross maybe soften the bed of the setup... I want to try it on my ps classic that i bought for 1,500 pesos about 30$ (I dont have that money to buy dream PSRFA :/ racket )so that maybe I can experience my idol's racket... so yeah, tysm!
RF01 Pro is better if you're of a sufficiently high technical level with good swing mechanics and racquet speed. Low level rec players with slow swing speeds and poor timing need not apply.
Kind of true though, tough to take advice from stiff tennis folk that don't actually hit through the ball properly. Legs are a requirement in the game of tennis.

Everyone says the string pattern is tight in the centre. Where is it an open pattern? On the last 3 strings before the frame?

Harry has found his match! 🎾

You two should play match against each other, that would be a great match

This is just ridiculous… leading up a RF 01 Pro? What are you guys Del Potro or something?
Nothing like a pro staff. No pws, no box beam and lighter.

"is it a pro staff? stay tuned" - title gives the answer away. Also this topic has been touched on by nearly everyone about 4 weeks ago.
How about some shoes reviews....geez do you not carry shoes anymore?
Well, you guys don’t really know how to play tennis so I think both of you would do better with just a $10 Walmart racket
Evil.
lol
