The only weak points with the engine are the manifold to turbo link pipes, especially the rear one. They crack and cause issues with over fueling, also timing chain stretching and it's a bit of a pig of a job to do.

The vauxhall ent a bad car really like you said there kinda a budget bran althought some nice specs about.ive had the pleasure of owning a few sri's and one thing they solute do like to smoke the front wheels quite easily aswell as the dashboard likes to bounce about, not yet drove a vxr don't think you can go wrong.the first cav sri 130 mk 1 is a nice car pretty quick back in its hey day an nice looking with its two tone grey bottom.good vid Calvin

@@flippingcarsrepairs yep that's why I bought another one haha 😄
I'm not a badge snob I've had many Vauxhalls over the years, Calibra's etc one of the reg was H884 DTM ( They were quite successful in the German DTM at the time!) last two VXR's I had were the J Astra GTC VXR, they went to town on this model, the running gear, brakes etc it was so well planted on the road I ran until Feb this year when I traded in my Black fully loaded Astra VXR for an F Type V8, I have found out I can't throw it around as much as I did the Astra, so have lost a bit of fun factor. It took something special to get me out of Astra VXR's why I ran them for 7 years, so I know how your colleague feels when you say to him time for a change from the Corsa VXR, they are a lot of fun too & he must know them well. Great review Calvin. The Insignia VXR was all wheel drive btw.
Get more cars like this on the chancel Calv!! + more Japanese cars!!
Nice, I used to own a 3.2 GSi a number of years ago which was the flagship sporty model before the vxr.
I first saw your video when you went to jay kays house in the lotus Charlton then followed you . long time follower
Having owned a 2.0T Vectra for nearly 10yrs its great to finally see the daddy VXR Vectra on your channel. Cant believe how cheap the HPI check was but like you showed on Autotrader there still good for 5k. Great video, loved it
I to own a Z20NET. Great car and currently running the same power as a vxr. I wanna upgrade to the insignia 2.0t but every time I drive my vec I always get out with a smile n the thoughts of a siggy go out the window
Ive now got a 2.0T Insignia and love it, i do miss my Vectra but after 10yrs it was time to upgrade.
What a great car, to me it looks like it has aged really well, much more pressence than out on road nowadays.
The only weak points with the engine are the manifold to turbo link pipes, especially the rear one. They crack and cause issues with over fueling, also timing chain stretching and it's a bit of a pig of a job to do.
I Got the estate vxr surprises few people once it gets going currently 340bhp 430lbft torque with quaife lsd & short shifter
Suprised these didn’t come with a asbo lol had vauxhalls for over 20 years and this one there better example for ripping around and putting a few boy racers to shame great video
me and me dad always had vauxhalls still nice cheap fun cars loved old cav sri 2.0 8v were brill but all the turbo models are good AtoB cars afforable for familys 😀
Cool video I have the Vectra C Carvavan OPC Ardenblue
Very underrated cars and will be a collector car in the future. Jeremy Clarkson was wrong about the understeer and chassis. My father has one in sapphire black and will be running 450BHP and 600NM+ soon with a host of other upgrades
I love a good old vauxhall just like you Calvin lad I have a max power old vec b 2.5v6 gsi tuned my msd back in day and I love it 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Done the same time as a Tesla. Thats good going for an older car and a manual.
And you are right Calvin, Vauxhall has a massive following. I wouldnt say i'm a Vauxhall fan boy but i do own a Mk4 Astra SRi Turbo that i've had for 11 years and i will never sell it. All of Vauxhalls 2.0T sports hatches have been good cars.
Drove loads you want get the vxr8 now that spins up cheap smiles
Also had a 1.8 Corsa C sri, that thing with 125bhp shifted! Super short hearing and just over 1000kg
Got an insignia 2.0cdti atm, people bash it left right and centre.. but look past the flywheel and pick up seal issue and it’s the best car I’ve ever had.
Never skipped a beat. Sat on 124k
I remember a video on that car age's ago you drove it to princess Risborough
Man I want this motor! Have always loved these px +cash ???haha great vid bro
And yeah your right being from luton if it wasn't vauxhall it's rare lol
@@danielsalsbury1195 I'ts my old motor i will vouch for it ;)
Torque steering to bits 😂 mad fun
Loved my vectra vxr
calvin isle of sky is in scotland lol great vectra love vauxhalls great video
It made a very good traffic car, the fastest ones TV had I think.
Also had a Calibra as my first car, second and third! Huge fan of older Opels 😁
Looking to buy a "new" car and it stand between a Saab 9-5 Aero or a Vectra OPC/VXR as a new daily driver. Do wonder how relible they are compared to a Saab :)
I would say the mileage is average for that age , I have a Vauxhall Signum 2.8 V6 turbo manual with 155k and pulls like a train lovely cars
Had an old Vectra B 2.5 V6 SRI back in the day - sounded well nice with a bit of induction and an exhaust - I always said it was nice to drive slow as well because of the deep noise low down, good to see someone else noticing that type of thing!
A lot of the traffic police loved these fast and comfortable and looked the part one who comes on RUclips says he used to start his shift early so he could get the vxr
My mate owned the Arden Blue one. Thing was a beast but was thirsty.
PS Isle of Skye is up here in Bonny Scotland
Great engine, got one in my SAAB.
Didn't put vxr on the exhaust because its a remus exhaust system from factory, not that most of us have kept it standard though!
Always loved a vauxhall but I cannot get past the interior. Especially this Corsa D vxr, astra h vxr
I've been a vauxhall fan all my life up until recently, my 17 plate astra vxr line engine blew up with 42k on the clock only owned it a year it was the 1.4T 150bhp so that's me done! I now drive a seat leon fr
I loved my signum. underrated motorway muncher. 3.2 v6
Isle of sky is at the top of Scotland Calvin.👍
I love my vauxhall's i got a mk3 cavalier 2.0L 16v red top a astra coupe turbo & my daily is a mk5 astra estate
Had a 2008 Sri 150 for 11 years cracking motor sad to see it finally go personally did over 120000 miles over the years and only big expense was a new clutch and flywheel
first video i've seen on your channel was with a stage 4? corsa vxr you picked up with ricky ? been a long journey :D
Stunning car my next vectra vxr in the future in red
Nothing wrong with being on crimewatch Calvin.....been on there myself 😂
Cavalier 2.0 SRi was pretty rapid too.
I owned the 3.2 gsi version a few years back was pretty good car tbh
Remember when these were new my local police traffic unit had them
