People shouldn’t worry about shows and what other people think. I use to worry about shows and trophies and what other people think when I use to take my triumph choppers to bike shows. Build models for you. I have a decal on my bikes lol that say. “ I didn’t build it to meet your approval, it meets mine.
I’m mainly an aircraft guy, but going to do a car soon for a group build. The group build is Hollywood Muscle Cars, so I’m recreating a specific car. It’s all black except the chrome trim, and except for some wood on the dash interior is black as well. Going to use some different blacks and a very dark grey on some parts of the interior to break it up a bit.
I'm recently back to the model scene after a 25 year break and would love to give show building a shot...in your opinion what would be a couple kits best to build say a box stock ?....brand and specific kit..I've noticed not all kits are created equal lol...not knocking any just curious if you would have a preference or go to ? ....also would like to say I'm a recent subscriber and love your vids ...been a huge help plus all your dos n dont's are followed by "and here's why" ...alot of guys out there with opinions but ide have to say you are at the top for backing up every one you have and I think that's extremely valuable and a testiment to your wealth of knowledge....thank you
Hey old man...question ...i decanted testors enamel candy apple red...when can i add the cold lacquer thinner...i remember you saying after decanting let it flash out for 24hrs....or.?? Thank you sir the education is priceless
Love this one and will give it a thought next time,, could not help but notice that you paint some of the undersides in gloss body color, and not the usual flat dark colors, that are often seen on 1/1 cars, are that a choice made because that is a model, and have be standing out, normally you would tell us that you should build a close to the original as you can,
Hey old man this old man I'm 72 been building since 1957 I don't always build cars I've done a bit of everything from cars planes motorcycles even I build electirc guitats and muzzle loader black powder guns and I 1to 1 Street rods I noticed you mentioned you have a street rod would like to see it.
Love your videos. I have a question about lining the doors to show lack of lite around the doors. What do you use to make the lines show up if your car is painted black?

Love your videos. I have a question about lining the doors to show lack of lite around the doors. What do you use to make the lines show up if your car is painted black?
The acrylic ink drys to a flat black which will show the door lines against the gloss surface .
What’s your best solution for masking tape residue?
Polish out with Novus 2 using a piece of 100% flannel .
I will do.
