The Duff bass scoop is the one that caught my ears. The red HB and the yellow Fender Player are probably the most classic P-bass sound with the Sire basses not shabby at all.

Despite my bias in favor of PJ and passive, I think I liked the Sandberg and the Sire P8 the best.

The professora of the bass, drops another hot one. Yall do have a lot of P/J bass in a PBass video.

While there are similarities between the models presented here, the Marcus Millers really popped for me. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Harley Bentons (IYVs?). Nice playing!

Thanks Susi, interesting comparisons, some of the tonal differences seemed more apparent when played in slap style, which surprised me.

Surprised, Fender Player series and especially the PJ sounded best. Slap sound was perhaps more even and depending on if you wan crisp (Sandberg, p8 sire) sound or ( sire p4r) for vintage tone.

Is it just me or the Harley Benton and the Duff McKagan sig kinda sounded like there was a phaser effect on whenever she slapped the open E string?

The PB-20? Not the first video with that bass where I've noticed that, someone said if the strings are too close to the strings it can cause that effect

That happens to MiM Fenders with 1,5k price tags: nice wall decorations which collect dust.(it‘s a great bass but I remember them going for 1k and that was steep).

The basses all sounded pretty different, and other than a boost in the treble the eq sounded reasonable
