Thank you for tuning in and the subscription! I have a whole lot more prepped in the future. Mark Waid was just such a treat to talk to. Still loves the medium to this day. Stay in touch!
I feel like I've definitely grown on the interviews! I hope to be able to answer them one day when I find my own job in the world! But thank you so much for the kind words. It is much appreciated.
Nice interview with good questions. I added JLU to my saver thanks to this video. Please consider not using background music for future interviews since I found it to be distracting.
I still cannot believe Mark Waid took an hour out of his life to talk to me. As someone who's looked up to his work for years, it's a lifelong dream come true to get to talk to a hero. Thank you so much.
Nice interview, always love hearing marks insight. Not a fan of the background music for interviews but LOVED the alternating slides of his other works/books. That’s a great idea I haven’t seen done before
Thank you for the compliments on the graphics! I find that comics not being on the screen hurts the talk. It's a visual medium, and RUclips should represent it as such. I just added a brand-new subscription/plugin for Premiere, so hopefully, the background music in the future is tuned in better. Thank you for watching and tuning in!
Great idea having the images filter through. Awesome questions. Love the piano in the background. You felt a little nervous, but over all one of the best interviews I’ve seen in a long time. Congratulations. 🎉
I was 110% nervous through the interview!! Like Mark Waid?! What!?! But on a serious note, I have to compliment my friend Bryce Gibson for not only taking some of the motion graphics making time out of my hands, but also for making the background while I made the still graphic design overlays. Comics are a visual medium, and they should be seen by all for everybody. It would feel disingenuous, in my opinion, to not show the books to the viewers so that they get a good idea about what we are talking about, the books that they might be interested in checking out, and the consumer information on how to find them and order them. Thank you, Ruben. Appreciate it.
Thank you so much, Ethan! He's one of my top creators ever. Such an honor to talk to him about comics. I'd keep my eye out for another public appearance from him with me soon!
Great interview Dom! Well thought out questions! Now, I can't believe what I'm about to say, disagreeing with the great Mark Waid. I don't agree with his point that Bruce keeping his plans secret from the other JLers being his biggest sin. That would defeat the purpose of making those plans. If a JLer goes dark and he knows that Batman has a plan to take them down, the first thing they would do after going dark would be to eliminate Batman. Bruce would make himself the biggest target, which would prevent him from implementing his plan. Best way to keep a secret is to not tell anyone! But that's just my take as I was on Team Batman on that story. Not making those plans would have been a sin.
Thank you for the compliment on the questions! I feel like I struggle far too often with communicating and sticking to my guns while having an organic conversation. I think that's why Tower of Babel lends itself to be one of the best books, ever. There's so many different takes and struggles to figure out who's in the right and wrong. I love stories that push our views and concepts of secrecy and morality! I can definitely see your stance on it! But the best stories are the ones where we have things to talk about, whether we agree or disagree on them, and Tower of Babel is one of those.
Mark, treat Diana WW well 🙏, Sorry, it’s a negative comment, but WW in the JLA is essential to me. So, getting her personality right is also imperative. Thanks
DOM, you are amazing with these interviews. And you got to interview the living legend and living encyclopedia of comics. Bro you should be proud of yourself. This was amazing.
I'm just enlightened and so graced that Waid was able to spend one hour of his life with me to talk about comics. Waid will be back on soon with me on something else!
The Bronze Age Legion is missed because people love the history of that series - so rich and rivals Xmen for how far reaching and interesting it is. When you reboot it - you miss out on what makes it special and entertaining. No one cares about a more diverse legion (which was pretty diverse to begin with in the Levitz/Bronze Age) - as long as it entertains and builds on that history.
Hickman might be the only high profile creator who is a massive fan of legions yet never has the opportunity to write anything about it. With Hickman’s track of record writing high concept sci-fi stories, he would nail it.
And not to pick on Bendis - one aspect of his Superman run that I loved is 'no lies/truth' in regards to his secret identity. It just fits. In 2024 Superman having a secret ID or lying to his loved ones and friends just seems out of character. That being said I am loving Waid's run on WF and Action comics.
Gary Payton pfp man, it's still surreal to me, and I cannot believe that Waid took time to talk to me about comics and something we both love. Thank you.
The human encyclopedia of DC comics. Been killing it lately. Looking forward to JLU.
He has been. Can't name a miss for me in recent memory. Solid stuff!
You're GOATed for bringing up LoSH. Me and the 5-10 other legion fans are hungry for any new legion series
@@kbar4462 Long Live the Legion!!
LONG LIVE THE LEGION. Hopefully the future of them will hype you up!
Good stuff! Mark is a great writer. ✍️ True legend and you nailed the interview! Like and newly subscribed to your channel.

I like that Mark is so well known, Im pretty sure he has that luxury to choose his own artist!
And I think he'll be the first one to tell you that his scripts are just words without the illustrators to complement him.
What an amazing talent. Mark Waid is the master. Great interview Dom. Your interview skills are superb.

Awesome stuff! I'm going to change the background music in the future due to the suggestions, so i appreciate it and the watch!
Looking forward to this run. Dab Mora and classic super-hero stories by Waid. Should be great.
I hope he throws some Synchronicity/Tower of Babel type stories in there! Same same.
Nice interview! Totally looking forward to JLU.
Thank you for the gracious words! I'm so excited for him and Mora on JLU. Feels like a long time coming.
Great job @Dom of X ! Great interview!
Atomic Hound, thank you! He'll definitely be back on in the future.
Yo Mark Waid!! Congrats Dom this is awesome! Been loving these interviews and love how this is happening for you!

Wow, i just got super interested in batman and robin year one after hearing mark talk about it.
Sounds like some awesome concepts.
Glad it got you in! If the book keeps strong from start to the end, I might hold a Batman opinion that I would never have thought... so stay tuned!
These interviews have been great! Mark is one of my favorite creators.

Been wanting a Justice League book with this concept for a loooooong time, so I'm glad Mark and DC are finally giving it to us.
It's such a resourceful concept that I hope reverberates to the halls of the end of time!
Damn you turned this out quick. Im super looking forward to JLU and Waid is a long time fave esp for how he essentially reinvented Wally.
There's no world where I turn down a Waid comic.

I think Waid will tell you the same thing to why people miss the BA Legion!
Great interview Dom. You did a solid job asking interesting questions and you know your comics! JLA was such a great run.
I need to read more comics, but man. I was sweating on this one. Glad Waid was able to talk about his JLA with me!
JLU is awesome , I collect it
Dom has graced us yet again with a great interview 🎉
I'm graced with you checking it out. Thank you, GK.

I think his Superman run is quite overhated. Waid on WF and Action is such a blast every issue out. Thank you for checking the interview out!

He just tweeted he’ll retire after trump won 🤷🏽
Bye bye Mark.
