- Dancing With the Stars' semi-finalist Nyle DiMarco, who is deaf, has revealed how he is able to move to the beat without being able to hear it. He memorizes the timing of partner Peta Murgatroyd's moves. And if he's too slow, "I give him a good scratch on the back," Murgatroyd said. She also squeezes his hand to signal when he has to move. "I was definitely scared," he said, using sign language. "I didn't want to be off time and mess up the dance and people would assume deaf people can't dance." #InsideEdition
He can't hear a thing and yet is a brilliant dancer. We can hear but can't even follow the beats properly sometimes. Talent is raw and doesn't need much training to master. Way the go DiMarco!
I'm so glad he won! I knew it was either him and Peeta or Paige and Marc. Season 26 is probably my favorite season.
Such a good talent and when he said that he was happy the way he is it just made me smile

Does he speak sometimes? In the last two seconds he fluently says "Let's see how this works out." Not making any accusations, just made me crack up hearing him speak after these clips of him signing.
that wasn't him talking! that was his interpreter and he was just mouthing the words
you can hear him talk one time on america's next top model (he says "happy birthday" in the episode where it's devin's birthday) and he was the "deaf voice" that most people who were born deaf have :)
