- Donald Trump has said he will end American involvement in the war in Ukraine if he secures a return to the White House, in comments that will prompt deep concern in Kyiv.
Although the United States has not sent troops to Ukraine, it has supplied the vast majority of weapons to Kyiv as it fights off Russia’s invasion. President Zelensky said in April that Ukraine would have “no chance of winning” without US military assistance.

US aid is the only bargaining chip he has. He could either threaten Putin with providing everything the Ukraine needs to win the war, or he could threaten withdraw aid to Zelensky. I think we could all guess what Trump will do.
That will leave Ukraine to continue the war without US aid. I would guess they would continue to to fight on as they really do not want to be under Russian control.

Conservatives don't actually understand what funding Ukraine means. The financial aid we give can only be used with American businesses. The values of military equipment are estimated using the values from when those vehicles were brand new. The things we are giving away are also things that we are phasing out and will only leave sitting in storage (which costs us money as well).
Aiding our allies and preventing Russia from conquering its neighbors is a major priority. Putin doesn't care what Trump does or says, they're not buddies. What Russia does has nothing to do with who's in power. People who think that Trump could have prevented the war in Ukraine are simply brainwashed by their bias.
Russia has waged wars against its neighbors since the collapse of the Soviet Union. This war has been in the works since 2014. Russia will not stop expanding unless someone stops them.
Everyone claiming this will all lead to WWIII are falling for the fear mongering that the Conservatives and Putin are spreading. It isn't up to Putin to launch the nukes at anyone and Russian leadership isn't going to end their own luxurious living because some crazy dictator asked them to.
