Great video! Love the enthusiasm and explanations! Would be cool to see a collection video when you get your other books back! 😊
I've pretty much picked up everything thanks to humble bundle... it really is a chore sorting through everything.
True. The pocket editions are a good saving for my "Pocket"
I holeheardedly disagree with your picks. For a NEW GM, i would go in the following order. Core Rulebook first + one of the Monster Manuals. Without a MM you can´t evan run a game. In the Core Rulebook is not a single Monster. Then i would pick the Game Master Handbook. This book has SOOOOO MUCH interresting stuff for every GM from Story beates up to loot tables, npc creation and campaign creation. As a last item for the fresh GM i would pick up a level 1-4 Module to get your party started. EVERYTHING else is totaly optional, but not a must buy. if you have run your 10th ish game you could maybe thinking about advancing the rule system with the advanced and special and super duper power rules....this stuff is only for advanced groups, not beginners.
Good to see you around. Thanks for the insight.
I got rid of all of my Pathfinder books when I switched to 5e D&D except the Game Master Handbook. That is a great resource.
Im starting my first PF campaign upcoming in January and I'm sooo nervous. I have 2 brand new players that have never played a tt rpg before (My wife and her friend) so I hope I dont mess it up!!!
11:36 The guys just realized how much he spent on PF books
Crazy order if purchases. Girl painting is correct in her response to this video. Nice scarf or ascot not sure which .
Thank you so much for this video, this has been what has been holding me back from starting. More videos on DM advice would be great
Be sure to check the other comments as there are a lot of great insights.
I came here to check about the Pathfinder as I have heard so much good about it.
But so damn many books! By the gods!
The Inner Sea World Guide is good too for DMs.
I would LOVE some commentary concerning 3rd party books. Green Ronin, 0One, Kobald, and the like. There's a ton of content out there. Getting a sense of what extends the game, versus replaces elements.
Also, what old OGL / 3.5 books are still useful in Pathfinder? I hear that Unearthed Arcana 3.5 is still a great resource for Pathfinder. Is that true?
Do any writers make Pathfinder novels?😊
Um you should get the bestanary right after core
All you need to play pathfinder is starter guide, advanced guide and beastaniry
Honestly considering trying pathfinder, I havent played DnD since 1997 so I dont think I will know the difference. The pocket books are all as low as 10 bucks if you look around... I loved dungeons and dragons 2 edition so I am sure I will love pathfinder.
Also, this guy gets it...he reminds veiwers about the power of the DM. I see dungeon masters that forget they run the show.... my rules are law and final... but do you really want something to make your game experience utterly amazing? I will help you get it... that is what a DM does... create FUN!!!
Thanks for this shawn. We really miss your videos. Lets do a painting with shawn again
I agree
Blue Table Painting thank you so much for the inspiration you give is! Keep it up. The community needs shawn
lol, you also forgot ultimate campaign. Imo the best of them for a GM
Hey good catch!
You forgot Ultimate Campaign. :)
So what is the complete list of Ultimates?
How I did was first the Core Rulebook plus Bestiary 1. After that I bought the first Adventure Path, Rise of the Runelords Collectors Edition, and just for the plus, pawns for the Bestiary and the AP. That's it, I started to play with just that... later on I added The Advanced Player's Guide and the Inner Sea Guide plus Bestiary 2 and so far that's everything I use in my campaign (I read a lot of Pathfinder novels and buy many pawns cause they are great... and some supplements like the Flit Map , the Master's Screen and the Combath Path). Love Pathfinder!
the game mastery guide for pf1e is indispensible to any fantasy game master. i would skip all other books but core and bestiary and gm guide lol.
Will you be getting Pathfinder:Kingmaker?
Yes. I currently have all the adventure paths collected tightly.
I have some extra paths/sets at bluetablestore.com
@@bluetablepainting the video game not the books.
Beastiary! 😆
4:45... made me stop watching.
