Is it still necessary to include that the patient's wife died in december 2017 in the introduction? Since it was already stated that he is a widower.
And, the phrase "who will cook for his meal" on the last paragraph is out of place?

Good question Mel. I would consider that useful contextual detail for the reader to get the background situation. The daughter's involvement is mentioned as she will be involved and may need support with a diabetic diet. Hope that helps.
