- we have last week moved to Amsterdam in our rented house. It was really hard time finding one and then at last we were able to get this beautiful nest with sunny and airy windows. House is located in Amsterdam centrum, near by different museums. We are trying to settle our selves with new neighbors and spreading Indian culture around.
House is awesome.. especially balcony and views are amazing.. 👌👍

Hi, you have a beautiful house, I wanted to know in general if the apartments in the Netherlands have elevators or is it only the tiny staircases?
Thanks for comment...however in Amsterdam not every appartment has wider stairs and lifts ..most lf the time you wont find lifts and stairs also very narrow even difficult to go with your bug bags sometimes...so choose your place wisely
Depends on the age of your apartment.
Any older building, most likely, do not have elevators. Most newer (apartment/soviet style buildings) do have.

Thank you. It is very easy almost all super markets will have a sim card available, some are free and some with amount. Go with lebara sim and then you can recharge with mobile app.
How is the experience of using Forex cards in Netherlands. Which card did you use or go for?
We were using ICICI Forex card but itight not work for all POS Visa cards having less chances to work here. If you have maestro then good else carry cash initially. It will work every where.

funda, pararius, facebook marketplace( we found from here ), also reach out to nearest real estate agent where you want to stay, they can help you but they charge one rent i guess, also they get houses before it gets published to funda and other public platforms most of the time. so better to reach out estate agents

generally amsterdam/ amstelveen is costlier then others, dieman. almere . velseen will be lot more cheaper
While renting house, are the owners willing to wait a month. Say I need a house in September, can I book in August. Rent period starts from August or September?
Well that is not possible every kwner here wants to start renting and earning out of it...if existing tenant is going to leave house and they have confirmed then whatever you are saying works.
There is such a demand for housing that you don't have that luxury.
There is often no negotiation because owners can ask what they will get what they want... ;)
And no it isnt common to get a ''free'' month of reservation. You pay in that case also fr the month of August.

Hi vasu, thank you for comment. You can check funda, pararius, keep an eye on facebook groups, marketplace, contact local agents they will take 1 month remt but you will have higher chances of getting home. 1250 in Amsterdam central will be tough .. start from now daily checking elae you will be in situation where june will be there but you are still finding place for living.

What is the reason you took an expensive apartment as if you have taken little outside then it will be cheaper.? Just for my informative purpose.
I am glad that you asked this, reason behind living in Amsterdam initially is , you are habitual to see lot of people around you as an indian, and if you take something outside of Amsterdam then you will feel alone, which is our personal experience but 80% of indians feel same. So living and getting a feel of country first in Amsterdam and then moving next year outside that is something we are planning.

Hello. Thank you for making this informative video. I have a question.My partner will rent a flat when he goes to Amsterdam. Since i am a non European citizen, i need to do some paperwork to get my partner visa and for that to happen i need to live with my bf in the same adress. I was wondering if it was possible for my bf to invite me to stay with him when he is renting. I mean can you invite people to stay with you for like 2-3 months. I need to amount of time to get my work permit and start working then we can rent another place just for me and my bf. Thank you in advance 😊🙏🏻
I think this is possible, the only thing is till you get BSN you wont be able to register yourself at municipality and if house owner is ok to et you stay in house i don't see any other problem with this.

Not everywhere that is possible.
Most cities do not allow for more than 2 different people from different families who are not a family in that sense.
So yeah, and cheap. Cheap for a room is around 400 euro's (depending on the area, randstad is 500 cheap and outside the randstad 400 is cheap). Studio's are around 700-900 euro's a month. 1 bedroom apartments go between 1000-1400 a month.
