@@caril.9384 much obliged :) The quote made me think of a friend of my who is an English teacher. One of the achievements that she is always talking about is how she can suggest certain books to kids who proclaim to not like to read and get them to enjoy reading after that.
This episode was SO AWESOME! I'm so proud of the team and they're doing a great job. Even though it's not book-accurate to a T, it's brilliant writing and I enjoyed it greatly. The explanations for newcomers and just seeing the story pieces come together, it seems almost as if our feedback to episode one was preconceived and put into the development of this one. The voice acting, visuals, story beats, it's all an improvement. A small improvement, but noticeable. There's just so much packed into these 30 minutes of show. An hour of show and I'm dead certain this will be even more of a groundbreaking series than I first imagined. Congrats to y'all on the team, and thank you so much!
Seriously, Zouzab's VA NAILED the voice. I'm still surprised it wasn't Andrew voicing him. Speaking of Andrew, WE GOT AN OSKAR MOMENT! AND THE ART OF ITCHING! But no footnotes. *insert wah wah wah noises*
What a step up this episode was! It was incredible, my family really enjoyed it. I loved seeing all the hints and foreshadowing they've put in. Well done, Wingfeather Team!
Oh my WORD! They just keep getting better! I liked getting to see Ferinia more. The interaction between Sara and Janner was so cute. Also I can't believe they showed the Florid Sword and the Stone Keeper!😳🤩I gotta confess i loved the Stone Keeper part cause it was creepy😄Overall, It was just SOOO good! Again, beautiful animation and music❤ on a scale of 1-10, i give it a 10!! AWESOME JOB WINGFEATHER TEAM!!
I am actually growing on this version of Sara, surprisingly. My guess is that she wears overalls cuz she has to help her mom out with the stuff her dad did. Her necklace is pretty! AND WE GIT MORE PEET! Also, Zouzab's VA has that character to a T OSKAR!!!😁 THE STONE KEEPER?!?!?! 😱
Peet the Sockman! And... that other guy...in Dugtown! (Spoilers) *cue the fangirl noises* I never disliked the character of Sarah Cobbler. But I love so much how her character has been fleshed out in this. I think it will make a better connection between her and the viewer which will make future events more impactful.
I really loved episode 2!! Especially where Oskar quickly scurries up to take the book from Janner, it seems he can move faster than his size would suggest! 😂Can’t wait for episode 3!!!
I loved the episode! The voice over is fantastic, and I especially loved the interaction between Tink and Nia over T.H.A.G.S. !😂😂 Zibzy was extremely fun to watch! (Wish I could have played with them! It was extremely intriguing to hear about the writing process after the episode as well! I can’t wait for the next Episode! (Chapter)👍😅
Marvelous Visual Narrative! Men im thrilling about that Creepy lady and the marching Fangs! Childs Going to a Mistery journey! What a Preview!! Keep rolling!! 👏🤩🗺️😍👍 Taking the Great steap!
The Nameless Ones also appeared in another story that I saw recently - what was it? It was 'Earthsea,' which was a book by Ursula K Le Guin, which was made into a movie. I haven't read these Wingfeather books, so I don't know what the Nameless Ones are in here. I only know they were really, really scary in the Earthsea movie.
What a great job you are all doing! I had a blast watching ep 1 and 2, I feel that you are doing a great job rearranging the story, it makes it much more interesting and compact. my only complain is that I wish there would be subtitles, the dialogs between fangs are very hard to understand
It's the Lizardkicker crutch, right? It HAS to be! Unless it's a toothy cow plushie which means everybody is happy, but it looks like wood. Her whistleharp?
SPOILERY SPOILERY SPOILERS FOR THE BOOKS, DON’T READ THIS COMMENT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED Introducing one of the Stone Keepers early is a bold move given that their very existence points to the Fangs’ origins, but it’s one that found a welcome surprise. Same could be said for introducing Gammon and the Florid Sword early, since it helps set up the events of book 2. Speaking of which, I love seeing how the show is handling Sara. Given what happens in the next episode (and during the next season, if all goes according to plan), establishing a bit of firmness and strategic knowledge to her helps set up where she’s headed later on.
I liked this episode, but why does the frame-rate vary between shots? Sometimes it's really jerky, and then other times it's very smooth. Is this intentional?
Ngl I’m interested in what will be of Slarb. Doesn’t seem like he’s well respected by the other Fangs. I wonder if he might reflect. Slarb-All the fangs just walk over me, look down on me, think they’re better than me. Tink-Not a great feeling huh? Slarb-…
While this episode was quite lovely, it would be great if you put the dialogue up via captioning so I understand the Fangs' dialogue. It was tough to understand all of their words.
In my opinion, if you never read Calvin and Hobbes as a child, then you never really had a childhood! So sad! I thought that was fun how they used Calvinball as reference for the Zibzy scene!
Something seems messed up in the video - like the episode suddenly ends around the 8:39 mark on this video - I have seen no map and can't seem to locate the rest of the video anywhere?
Favour to ask - we’ve started a Book Club on these at church and we’re meeting once a month to watch the next episode. We’ve bought a bunch of the books and we’re reading the chapters in between. Could anyone enlighten me as to which chapters in the book correspond to which episodes. We read 1-10 in preparation for episode one, but I’m not sure how many more to read for episode two etc Thanks in advance!
The honest answer to this is that the show is quite a bit different from the books. The events within the two do typically happen in both but the order is sometimes jumbled to keep the show interesting. There are also some things in the book or show that aren't in the other. Episode 4 ends approximately with chapter 35 but even that is a little different. Hope this helps. You can enjoy both without spoiling the other.
I expect the animation will get better as the seasons go on, because they will have more experience and probably more money :) But i think it's pretty good right now especially for being crowd-funded!!
Book to movie/show adaptions _always_ has to change _something._ Here, the basis of the plot is still there, it just has to be altered a bit to 1, fit time constraints since this is crowd funded, so they can't make that many episodes without taking a long time and even more money; and 2, make the story flow better. The entire first half of the first book wouldn't have worked because of the slow pace. It would have made things too slow for a TV series and messed up the flow and would cause new viewers (like myself) to be drawn in. These are one of the reasons why, generally, movie/show adaptions are a little or even way more different than the books.
The subtitles on youtube are automatically generated and often very bad. However, we make the subtitles on the angel website and app so you can watch them their with great subtitles and no ads.
