One of the XP's was here in Georgia. Just north of Atlanta at the McLaren dealership. Not sure if it's still there, but I've gone and seen it several times in the past. One of my all-time favorite Cars
I totally get this Tom, why wouldn’t you want the XP over a standard car with all this rich history. In some respects it was a shame to rebuild it, would of been nice left original as per the show car it once was. My question would be, if you own a matching F1 (what a pair) you are clearly financially very comfortable, why on earth would the owner sell the car? Anyways another awesome video, your knowledge is incredible and thank you for sharing this with us. Be good if you could get the sound tweaked on future videos 👏👏👏
Hello Tom, really enjoyed your seriers of 'Talks', you made a point of saying what the value of the P1 XP would be in 25 years time, if the 'tree huggers' have their way petrol/diesel will not be available in 20 years let alone 25 so the cars will just sit in garages with people looking them. Regards, RichardA.
I don't know, I think there could be a market for these type of cars long after that. New petrol/diesel cars will be outlawed, but I haven't heard of any plans to outlaw second hand cars. Even when they are outlawed I suspect many countries will allow car deemed to be "classics" to continue to be used, possibly with limited mileage etc.
I really can't see this car or others like it getting really valuable. This was never raced, it didn't win anything. It has very expensive cosmetic options. It's really something just to pose with. It is an awesome car, but it sure isn't worth more than when it was new and has probably peaked in price. The next one will be faster and this one will be cheaper.
Hi Tom is it okay to wrap let’s say for example a LaFerrari would it after time damage the paint work underneath or could it give an extra layer of protection?
Good lord, no one could ever tell you that you do not know what you are talking about..... Very interesting indeed. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍 👍 👌! Would this P1 have had the engine rebuilt or a new unit put in. Thanks once again! 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
More questions for your next Q&A: What are your thoughts on Miura S vs Miura SV? And, you recently sold a Pista Spider, how long does one have wait to sell their special Ferrari to avoid upsetting Ferrari?
Miura S vs Miura SV - good idea. We're pretty sure each client would have different agreements so its not an easy answer. Keep watching and thanks for your comments!
This is true, they don't yet have the status of Ferrari or similar. They rapidly improved on their range, meaning they quickly went out of date too. I don't think this will apply to the P1 though. This car managed to get a well deserved reputation, a modern classic. Not to the level of the LaFerrari obviously, but still a very popular car.
McLaren meanwhile launching new cars like its the end of the world. I don't doubt their performance but they are making way too many car models, which all seem to have the same underpinnings.

Thank you for the feedback Royd, hope you are keeping well!
newey.
Great content but the sound quality makes it uncomfortable to watch, the reverb combined with "noise gate cut out" is tiring.
Knobexploit music electronics agreed. Get some acoustic absorption in there. Too many hard surfaces!
@@beano6452 A standard lapel mic would do the job.

I really enjoy these videos - your knowledge is outstanding and I like listening to a man who knows what he’s talking about. Good work!
Very kind, thank you!
Sold.... (praying to the Pyrate Godz on tonight's lottery!!!!!
£1.3 mill I've been watching the car on auto trader come on lotto numbers 🙏
not too keen on that thinner glass,it tends to crack on some models?
I think not, probably made the glass from a stronger material or reinforced yet still thinner
@@okbutwhocares yeah your right Mclaren windscreens have never had issues with cracking at all, silly me

Tom Hartley Jnr Ltd Hope to see you compare them soon! Thank you for your response. Loving your content thus far.
This one is missing the unnecessary scratches on the boot lid, so I guess that’s progress for you.
Awesome, I will take this one please, speak soon.
Why are Mclaren's worth less than half what they sold for about 5-10 years later?
Chris Morlock too many new models without much improvement and a poor after sales service

That color is pretty awful. Car makers use loud colors to draw attention but these days, folks like me are going back to the more normal colors.
It’s a McLaren colour
Its a mclaren heritage colour, google mclaren m8.
I rather have a normal P1...
Totally hideous car, ninja turtle on steroids... Stick to classics!
Lay of the weed my friend.... its fuckin with reality
