This is probably one of the hardest standalone tricks to learn. Start learning by having the blade facing towards your offhand (left for right handed. Right for left handed) this should make the trick easier. To do it with the handle facing your off hand, I just bring up my hand faster when doing the trick.
If you learned the ice pick spin from Big Flips you might be a little confused at the ending of this trick because he's spinning it backwards (safe handle spins clockwise from above) compared to the way Big Flips teaches it (safe handle rotates counter-clockwise from above)
i tried doing it and going handle first only really works with my squiddy since it’s so handle biased, and i had to do blade first for my friends naut v2. it just depends on the balance, handle for more handle biased balis, blade first for more neutral balances like the naut
It's a great turorial. I'd love to have a balisong from squid that has eound handles like the Nami. It costs like as much as my little balisong collection and my rent combined
I honestly don’t get it. I can do a Z Choker with ease, but I can’t do a Choker Fan for the life of me. I’ve been trying to learn for months but just can’t get that starting rotation into what is essentially the Z Choker. I don’t know. Maybe my fingers just aren’t dexterous enough to do it .
@@SquidIndustriesco The very beginning of it, where you twist the handle by pulling your thumb back and pushing your middle finger forward. Every time I attempt it, i can’t get it to spin. It’s like the handle just gets jammed or something because I can’t properly twirl the fingers. But the trick it transitions into next (which essentially is a Z-Choker) I can do with ease by itself. I just don’t get it. I guess maybe with Z-Choker my fingers are already in proper placement to spin the handles into a catch, while a regular Choker Fan you have to do that complicated sideways handle twirl before transitioning into Z-Choker? I suppose I can send an Instagram video or something, but I really don’t know what can be done next to help me. :(
@@Osborne4Life Yeah i'm pretty much in the exact same boat. I don't know if it's just because i'm not gripping it well enough between my thumb and middle finger, so I just can't put enough torque on it. I just can't get the startup correct I think.
@@Osborne4Life with the z choker you dont really have to actually twist your hand i actually cant do chokers with the handle first; i do blade first it helps me get the spin
For some reason with this and also behind the 8 ball, I learned and could only so it starting with a double rollout. Dont know if that will help anyone else, but I think the momentum kinda helps me.
So I guess what you mean by that is that you cant show other companies on your channel also it’s not like a real thing it’s like different parts of legos made into it. say yes if you mean you can’t show other companies or something else
Choker is pretty simple once you get the gist of it, you just let it drop to your mid and ring, raising your arm so you can twist your wrist then you can pass it to your index.
I love y'alls tutorials but one issue I have is that you always do a bunch of fancy flourishing moves going into and out of the trick, like here Jelly always goes into it with a fan flourish, then he gets out of it with a backhand fan but he never mentions either and its up to the viewer to know that those aren't part of the choker fan and most beginners or intermediate flippers will be confused as to where the actual trick starts and ends. Please just isolate the actual trick and don't do any other tricks or stylish flourishes
Fan flourish is a lot easier to do than a double rollout, or am I just lazy to twist my wrist and hold the balisong tightly? And it's a good thing to know early since it's a lot smoother to do it than a standard opening and you can transition from it to other tricks more easily
I had this thought starting out too, but now that I’m a bit more progressed, the way they get in and out is soooo helpful because unlike other tutorials this sets you up for combos for getting into other tricks which is the ultimate goal. I actually find that sooo incredibly helpful. If you want a single simple tutorial there are those out there for sure.

I like how jelly did the chocker twice back to back and made it look amazing
My god bro those combos are insane💀💀💀

Right for left handed) this should make the trick easier. To do it with the handle facing your off hand, I just bring up my hand faster when doing the trick.
A tip that really helped me with it was to try to hold it as loose as possible (without dropping it) through the fan
Let loose and let the fan do it's thing, and now I can do it very consistently (my new fav over rev 8ball)
I hAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM
And your method is really helping....thnx
You really know how to work that balisong🦋🔪👌🏼
AMEN! I've never been to get this one down, hopefully this helps
i think itd be pretty cool to see a tutorial on different ladders
I concur

Big flips taught choker to thumb rollover, while jelly taught choker to icepick since most people do choker fans and connecting it to a backhand fan
hey guys, I recently bought a DLC inked teal naut V2 with blue titanium hardware, had it for abt a week now and its incredible so far! thanks guys!
Awesome! Glad to hear that you're enjoying it.
What do you mean by DLC?

theres two options for "inked": DLC & cerakote

Hey Bryan, which part of the trick are you having trouble with? Send us a video on Instagram and we'll try our best to help you figure the trick out.

Nice video!
It’s been so long(a month) I still can’t learn this😭😭, I can barely twist to do the fan in the first place
I've been just playing around, trying to figure it out, and I can't seem to wrap my mind or my fingers around it, so I'm right there with you. 😢
anybody know the background music they used for this?
I can’t seem to learn this my hands get so tired after like 4 tries 😭
Hey Andre can u come in Romania so we could film a video can u bring 1 more balingsong with you
Can we please get a Z choker tutorial next, jelly?
How do you flick out though?
Pls give a tutorial on wrist bump transfer
Its hard to do the spin move in the thumb and middle finger
Im only 10 and i have a balicomb i have bin doing balisong for 1.5 months
can you do a 0g Ladder Tutorial? please
proper 0g ladder IS SO HARD. getting the 3rd rollover is so challenging, Ive been stuck on it forever.
Yoo do you guys ship to india
I’m finding that the hardest part of the choker fan is discovering a good transition to do after lmao.
Thank you very much for this!
Do the original choker fan(thumb rollover instead of icepick open) instead but the timing is a bit weird
JELLUHHH R U BACK IN NORCAL? LETS KICK IT
How do they make videos every time I'm trying to learn a trick of that exact trick
My problem is my little fingers can’t do the first spin for long enough to do the first spin

can you do Walking Chaplins??
