I started with a plastic bali from etsy, quickly moved on to a used Vulp for $45. LOVE it, highly recommend for a first bali. I'm grabbing a second one soon.

I just bought my first butterfly knife.. it's a Kershaw lucha balisong 4.5" stainless steel, bought from Blade HQ. Never done this before, but I've been flipping and fidgeting with things since I was a little kid. Pencils, pens, knives, remote controls, fish picks (commercial fishing), you name it, I've probably hefted it and tried giving it a flip or a twirl in my hand.

Started with a mako v4 but I think the Vulp is the best bali for someone to start with at least for metal trainer
Quite a few of the aluminum channel amazon balisongs have gone down in price to around $50 (notably the c116 and the addax) and on top of that the comet has gotten a new version with G10 scales which from what I've heard are good quality and add a very good amount of grip, only downside is that its slightly more expensive than the others at around $70
just wanna say this, even if it is unpopular. if you are sub 45$, you can genuinely do pretty well with CERTAIN clones on aliexpress etc. just takes some research. Yeah it sucks that youre buying from someone who is ripping off from someone who went through the painstaking process of designing an amazing balisong. but the fact is, there are plenty of you out there that genuinely cant be spending more than that for a balisong (even if you are experienced), and you can do alot better with clones if you are stuck at that pricepoint, so if its the best you can do you shouldn't feel terrible about it. sorry bladebias; if you didnt want this on ur video feel free to ask me to delete it, i just feel like this can help alot of people in this hobby.
I bought a falcon by Theone when it was 40 dollars and that’s what I learned on. It took a month to get to me but it really got me into the hobby. Sure, it wasn’t the best first Bali but it was a first step. I still flip it today and it is ok.
BBbarfly is still a great pick. I had mine for 5 years VERY minimal service and it only recently croaked.

Got the vulp a few months back it is so worth it! Feels brand new still and I dropped the sucker on concrete hundreds of times. Feel pretty good out the box but I sanded down the bearings a tiny bit with a high grit paper and it feels perfect now

Was about to get a BBBarfly Firefly as my first balisomg but thanks to your video I will get a Vulp instead.
Went to my cousins house for 3 days and tried out a balisong one of them had. I googled a very basic trick (basic opening) and would practice that for a while until I could do it very consistently. I am now looking to buy my very first balisong. I am looking at the Squiddy-B from Squid Industries.

i took apart a swiss army knife, except for the pliers and use that to flip. its not truly a balisong but it works like one

what do u think about the clones ? i just order a Krake Raken Yuppie Clone, with the false edge from kotlin store . Is this a good choice ? ( this i my second balisong, i have a nabalis for about 10 months now )

Nabalis Lightning and Nabalis Vulp on list bo no Nabalis G10? G10 is cheaper than Lightning and Lightning is very similar to Vulp so maybe its worth considering? Those ball bearings tune amazing!

Squiddy from Squid industries is prob one of the best entry level Bali's for the price, if you've got 10 extra bucks the Squiddy B is significantly better.

Going from that to the vulp or any other balisong in that price range is possibly one of the largest jumps in quality you will see in the hobby

Looking for a good Bali song around 150 I have all the stuff mostly and I’ve been flipping on and off for 2 years and trying to get back into the game
If your broke and want metal (not great metal) and can get some fine grit sandpaper for the scales then nabalius g10 new style for $22 is a steal. On bearings only 3 cons. It's a little small, screws suck, and there's a latch but after locktight snd removing the latch your all good. Not a lot of play and have bought 4 of there styles to kinda test there quality control and they all came with everything and 1 has more play then rest but 0 tap on all of them. 1 or 2 I didn't even locktight. I do have some nicer balisongs that I would rather want to flip but if I only had $25 to use, Id get nabalius g10 new style in my opinion it is still better then all the 3d plastic ones. Also helps teach you if it's your first trainer that you aren't suppose to just swing the handles super hard and crazy, control matters. Some of those plastic ones are just are way to light and give a totally diffrent feel to the flipping experience. Obviously the ones that are weighted arent to bad I'd assume but I dont have a plastic one thats weighted but they are pretty expensive for what your getting
I forgot to add this con it can feel sponge sometimes if you know what I'm saying then you know.

Something with good grip/texturing which typically isn't going to be very common at this price

Nothing wrong with it I just usually recommend newcomers to get something cheaper so they don't spend a ton of money on something they might not end up liking
