I got my AVP Monday. It is excellent. And for v1, I’m blown away at how polished it is. Still plenty more to iterate on, but bravo Apple. I’ve been critical of Apple for years for being stale and shipping crap software. This is the start of a UI revolution. Google HAS to copy this device and make Android spatial. It will lag faaaaaaar behind if they don’t. Cameras are a necessity for this to start off. We’ll move on to actual pass through lenses in 5 years at the earliest.
It’s absolutely insane. It’s like retina for VR. The fidelity is incredible. Apps look amazing. Not trying to shill or fan boy either. I was skeptical Apple could do such a good job for v1. It’s amazing.
Great video, however you should bring your front left and right speakers down to ear/centre speaker level, or you're not getting close to the full effect of the surround mix for films and games. Rear speakers should be either at ear level or 1-2ft above your sitting position.

I keep my PS5 upstairs, but my WiFi router is downstairs. I have a pretty good WiFi speed though. Will there be a lot of latency considering I can’t easily connect an ethernet cable to my PS5?
This is clearly the future sadly Remote play is just not on par with current hardware like the Portal or Vision pro. I don’t know if it’s because Sony is lazy or it’s just not possible to improve Remote play further. Maybe Sony doesn’t want to improve Remote Play out of fear of the PS5 becoming less popular. The future of gaming is definitely streaming but it needs to reach a level of being able to play competitively. The hardware is there but the infrastructure is lacking.

Yeah it’s pretty sad actually just hating on something just because you can’t afford it. The craziest part is that Quest owners who are hating on the Vision Pro are basically hating on their future self’s. Thats because the Vision Pro is probably where the next line of Quest headsets are heading.

@@nathie I'm not very familiar with the vision pro (yet). Is that possible via an API? I might need to buy a device to experiment with the features. At the moment you are just running the base iPhone/ iPad version of MirrorPlay as there is no native vision pro version yet.
@@fgpr999 I am not a developer so I would not be able to tell you. I do know that apps like HBO Max, Disney Plus and Apple TV use this feature so maybe that helps.
@@goatguythepowerful Steam has A LOT of VR games already. Valve has the HTC VIVE VR headset. Sony will most likely port their games to PC along the headset Update release but you don’t need to wait for that.
@nathie Yeah, one of my friends was telling me you can do the same thing on your Quest 3, but you have to use a side quest to download the APK file for the Remote Play. I didn't put my headset in developers mode. So, I am not able to take advantage of those features. I hardly ever play my PS5 now a days. My PSVR2 has just been collecting dust, unfortunately. Maybe I will play some Resident Evil 4 Remake in that VR mode. I never did finish it. My Steam Deck and Asus ROG ally are also collecting dust. Too much work and not enough time to play with my Toys. But, it's okay. Nice to have for when I do want to play. I want one of these Apple Vision Pro Headsets. But, I am going to wait and see what the future brings. I have a feeling these Headsets coming soon will be Epic! 😉👌

Nathie, Try making a video on how quick and easy the Quest 3 and PC connect wow, really fast, in a blink of an eye. This video is complicated and time consuming, and following your in dept instructional video a bit annoying, Apple needs create a version which installs using a simple user interface while the complicated connection between devices should be made automatically.
It may not be a direct competitor, but it’s certainly enough of a threat that Meta will feel the need to step up its game. Wouldn’t be surprised if Meta makes an announcement about GTA San Andreas this year 😂

I bought the Portal before I got the Vision Pro. Now that I played remote play on the Vison Pro I regret getting the Portal. My Portal is just collecting dust now. Sony needs to improve remote play asap because it’s definitely not on the level of these devices.

However If I was Sony I would improve the controllers making them removable because if something breaks on one of them then the whole system is done for. Also the screen it’s good but maybe OLED would be better. Mostly the biggest drawbacks on the Portal are in the software you can’t watch RUclips or use apps like Netflix. Also Remote play is just not good especially for playing competitive. I just don’t understand Sony they make this nice device but has mediocre Remote Play from years ago. Considering all the other things it can't do, things most VR consumers are used to being able to do with a VR headset. I've tried AVP and am also a VR Enthusiast. I have 4 VR HMDs, so not nearly as many as you, but I also use a lot of software tweaks and such to play non-VR games too, same as you do. The problem is, AVP is great and top of the line, State Of The Art, for what it does. However, it isn't $3,500.00 - $4,000.00 great. At most, they should charge $1,500.00 for the smallest memory model, $1,750.00 fpr the mid model and $2,000.00 for the largest memory model. Bro, these things would FLY off the shelves at those price points. I agree, AVP is definitely a higher end product, so far as hardware. There needs to be a premium for that they produce. However, if they used $1,000.00, $1,250.00 and $1,500.00 as their price points, the competition would be forced to drop their prices. Even more units would fly off the shelves and more VR units for all companies would move. Way more people would be in VR at that point. Anyway, I'm just saying, I love the fact it supports the Cinema Mode for games, but just don't think it's a good selling point for the product. If you already bought a Vision for other use-cases this is just a bonus. Quest is great for streaming games too ofcourse.

Well you can do this with Xreal VR glasses with cable connection which is far faster & better than this wireless option. Duhhh !
