Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery!
I just realized that this might be the only channel that introduces their camera crew at the beginning of each video and thanks them at the end of each video. So wholesome
That's actually very true I've never seen another channel do it like they do
Most channels don’t have camera crews…
Often the camera crew don't want to be on camera.
@@dubious6718 They don't have to be on camera to be acknowledged. A simple thanks to the crew is very thoughtful.
@@dubious6718 have you surveyed camera crews?
Great video. A couple things standout.
1- How fast they all went to help Ed
2- Everyone falls (Matt, I felt that fall being a 40+ year old feller myself)
3- The customer waiting for Matt and crew to get out.
I love this channel. Shows fun content with good people.
-Dallas
How's those young people at the Ending slipping on the Spot hahaha , great channel .
😁🤣🥰
Chevy would hve gone right up that ,no prob.🤣
Heck yeah! Blade HQ is a fan as well!
Love BHQ!
Absolutely!
- I’m with YOU! Loved it!
Ed is always right on those recovery he knew you would have problems going out, thank you for taking care of Ed he's like half the world's grandpa, and we all love ed.
Ed would be a hoot at our Veterans Center!
Rudy and Lizzy are just awesome young people. Caring for Ed. Looking out for each other and still having fun while getting the job done.
The fact how fast they run to aid Ed. Shows the type of good people they are
yeah man, no hesitation... that was impressive.
They are great people 💕
The Devil himself would come to Ed's aid. Ed is that likable!!!
Kinda scary with that candy cane in his mouth. Thank god he landed on his knees!
Well Ed’s old as fuck lol who wouldn’t help him you’d have to be a real asshole not to
"Matt's Off-road Self-Recovery" 😅👌
This is the funniest😂
I need stickers
No one gave him a shirt 🙁
We'll get us out.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw Ed fall. So glad he was ok. And he got right back to work supervising, like the BOSS he is. Great video, as always. Love you guys!!!
Ed is essentially the most prized being on Earth and y’all protect him at all costs. Love it 🙏🏼🙌🏼
Ps Rudy and Lindsey tempting fate with ice dancing ended exactly as physics thought it should 🤣
Rudys version of running man was great, but Lizzy 's immediate laugh after her crash is why we all just love her to death. Keep on giving us MORR content!
Pretty good hipper, there.
Lizzie’s laugh 👍
Absolutely true 😄
Rudy has got some talent!
I never thought I’d be addicted to a towing channel. You guys are awesome, keep up the great work!
Check out ron pratt
Same here.
I think the towing is incidental to all of this. It's a big extended family, with a dad who says "See how I screwed up kids? Don't do that!"
Welcome to the club brother……Jim
My dad love watching your channel. He pass away yesterday . He really enjoy your channel
A wholesome family working hard, and having fun. Things we desperately need more of in this more!! Ed is the man!!
The 'Best Fall" most definitely belongs to Matt...Both feet staying together thru the entire fall. Excellent form.
yeah, but Ed saved the candy cane
@@claraallen12 no candy canes were hurt in the making of this video LOL

"We made that harder than it had to be." I loved the "fall counter" too. Nice drone flying avoiding the power lines. Great job Team Morr!
The respect that Rudy showed for Ed when he slipped - - - wow.
Great group of people!. It would be great to spend a day with them. And Lizzy ‘s smile and laugh, wow!
Good to see Ed - ALWAYS good to see him!! And glad he didn't hurt himself - Rudy literally flew to help him up, very respectfully!!
Some day, Matt, you must tell us Ed's story! I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes one of your most viewed videos!!
The recovery of a recovery of a recovery vehicle. This was a epic recovery. Did I mention the fact that two went fast to the help of Ed when he fell? He is watched over by all. Lizzy's fall and laugh is a pure treat to the ears.
Her laugh makes her sound so cute
Hey Ed, you're looking particularly handsome today in your Canadian tuxedo jacket 🇨🇦 love it!
Congratulations to all, on having the smarts in making your fabulously entertaining video's, oh my goodness, how it brings
back great memories of former off road racing for me! The cohesive team spirit and absolutely no f-bombs is absolutely inspirational. You are all a lesson in kindness, caring and good spirited fun. Keep up the great work and wearing those lovely jackets.
Just goes to show any situation can turn in a minute. You guys are the best recovering; including yourselves when needed. Hope everyone is okay from falling. Mad kudos to Rudy getting Ed back up!
Hi Matt. I can help you if you'll listen... I've had more than 50 years of snow driving experience. It's not like sand. When your tires spin on snow the snow gets more slippery. The trick is to just apply enough power to move the vehicle without spinning the wheels. As the snow compresses under the tires they'll get a bit of grip, but if you spin them you lose that traction. Once you're moving, if you can use momentum, sometimes "giving it" a bit can work a bit but it's still going to be better if you can just match the tires speed with the movement. If you're stopped in snow, that won't usually work (unless it's shallow snow with a rough surface underneath). ...So then is the time to back up a hair (without spinning the tires), then try forward again (without spinning tires) and use your momentum to get past where you had just been slipping. Remind yourself: "It's not like sand!" :)
Hope that helps. You guys do great work!
To add always turn facing the way out before stopping at the beginning. Your tires are warm and melt the snow underneath, then it freezes up so you are on a ice block to start with. After unloading and getting ready pull the truck a few feet forward then do the rescue. This gives the tires a chance to cool a bit. Learned this the hard way with semi's in the North Dakota oil fields.
2 trucks and no chains?? A must have for self recovery. Can't tell how many times I threw iron just to go a short ways.
Yeah everyone likes to floor it in the snow but slow and steady wins. And get some chains
Hey Matt! You should invest in some snow chains for your trucks, if you're gonna drive in conditions like that more often.
Glad no one got hurt on all the falls! Good job getting everyone out of the snow!
I just love Your channel as never know what's next. Great fun as well as recoveries. Did Ed hurt himself on that fall? Hope not.
I love how you ALL have so much fun on all your recoveries. Nobody ever gets angry…. Ya just figure it out! Love you all, but Ed and Lizzy steal the shows!!!
Good job Rudy poor Ed went down. Was nice to see you jump out and help him. Keep the videos coming.
That snow is not bad when it is cold and frozen, but when it warms up you just cannot get as good of traction. Well you made it out and it made for more viewing. God bless
I love the Lizzy fall ending… bravo 😂👍
8:21 ... Thank you for that PSA Rudy! I am unbiased when it comes to trucks but watching this in my mind I could already hear the truck wars in the comments about which brand could have done the job easier.
Personally I feel that the MORRVAIR could have been a *_strong_* candidate for success!
agreed, but that was pretty iced up....dont matter how big the tires, a gazillion HP, even lockers...that was slippery :)
I may be wrong, but I doubt the struggle with traction had much to do with the trucks. I think it is all about the tires. Even a Chevy with the right tires would have gotten out! I know it definitely wasn't the drivers. Those guys know what they are doing behind the wheel!!
I think the Dodge would have been just fine getting out, just needed a recovery expert behind the wheel.🤣
@@JM-yl8md Yep, even Rudy's Dodge was no match for the ice and it had the more aggressive tires on it too.
Mud tires don't mean ice tires. Used to have a set of Hercules all weather . The only way to stop me was to put it up to the belly. 🤣
Another great morning to start my day with Matt's off-road recovery baby!!!!!!
I like this channel because it really is just like all of us. Has a snowcat on standby and still tries the snowy hill 3 times. Love it.
Absolutely love this channel. An great group of humans! And the way everyone ran too help Ed! Oh and helpful hint. If you stop in deep snow roll back and forth a couple times. Pack the snow down and cools your tires and then you don’t melt in
I love Sunday's, Wednesdays, and Fridays just to start with Robby Layton, Fab Ratz, and Matt's channels just love it!!
Totally agree - you can also add Ron Pratt’s too!
@@Chance_It_Oz definitely. Lite bright, Michael Maker, Rorys Trail Mater so many others but these top 3 def started it
Lemme tell ya, I had a serious “OH, NO!!!” Moment when Ed went down! I’m a little younger than Ed (maybe), and I consider myself a tough old bird, but I still get up pretty slowly after a fall out in the woods! Glad he’s OK!
The best thing I see is a family working together and still having fun. 🏆🏆🏆
Good people doing good things with knowledge and experience. Much respect for Ed.
I needed a good laugh today, thanks for providing it. The fall count made me chuckle every time (especially Matt’s “TREVORRR!!”), then Rudy and Lizzy at the end made me really lol. 😂😂❤️
Matt, thank you + the crew for your videos. Always entertaining + interesting! I'm not trying to tell you how to get vehicles unstuck, but in my 50 years of driving in Canadian snow I've learned that less throttle, the better. Try not to spin the tires on snow or ice (unlike sand). Slow, steady power to the tires, trying to avoid spinning them works much better than losing traction by applying too much throttle. The friction of spinning tires cause snow to melt, glazing it + turning it into ice under the tires. Sometimes it does work, if you're on gravel + the tires dig down enough to hit the dirt but on hard packed roads, it's not the best way. A spinning tire on ice = 0 traction. Sometimes the best method is to rock back + forth until you get a little momentum, then slowly give more throttle as you pick up speed. Definitely different than sand!
There’s obvious experience behind that sound advice!
@ Mat, this comment is spot on. Read it! Try it! It works!
I got a pickup with a gooseneck out by using the gentle throttle/rock it technique after someone else spent several minutes polishing the ice with high tire speeds with zero success. One gentle move backwards, and then forward without spinning and it was out.
It works best to use light brake pressure and tap the throttle rapidly, but gently, as you fine tune the amount of power to traction. This same technique has helped me out countless times while snowwheeling in my Tahoe with 33's here in Northern Utah. Tiny by snowwheeling standards, but I can still get around in 18" when its warm and wet, and easily 2' of powder.
Norm Parrott, your advice is spot on.👍🏻
The only thing I can add in my experience is to get up hills like at 0830 you need kinetic energy to overcome gravity and lack of traction so kick it in the guts before you approach the climb.
i know they're an awful pain to put on but wouldn't chains, even just on the front tires, been easier than off-loading the Bombie three times?
Absolutely. As someone who grew up driving on snow, I really enjoy seeing the different driving styles used during the sand portions, but it's obvious they're still learning the tricks with snow driving. Still, they got them(selves) out!
Got to love that low desert humidity...29 degrees and wearing a t-shirt.
I'm not much of a Ford guy, but that F250 sounds amazing when it revs down! Great video as always guys and gal! 😁
A great rescue of not just the customer, but yourselves. Agree, chains or cables would have helped, but then there were the falls, the slick conditions, street tires, etc to contend with. 😄 That said, it's those falls, and counting them, then Matt's fall and yelling, Trevor! was funny and that added levity to what could have been a serious episode. But the end result, you got the customer AND yourselves out and that's what counts, right?
Great video, love how you guys drop what you're doing to care for ED.
They have to. Ed's the star of the show
Nice to see! Shows that even pros can get stuck! We have all been there no shame in needing help. Thanks for showing all of us average Joe's it's not just the people but the equipment! Keep it up!
Right at the end! I slowed video speed down to 0.50. The expressions of both brother and sister is precious! Haah!
This is how most recoveries actually go. Rarely are they as smooth as the sandstone and sand ones.
Happy Friday Matt & family! I just wanna let y’all know I love what you do & You guys bring a sense of happiness to my day when you post! Thanks for being great!
Very sweet of the young'un's to rush to Ed when he fell. Respect!
You folks are awesome fun to watch. You should title this video as A testament to the lengths Matt will go to avoid tire chains. I wonder if its an allergy or something.
Love the videos and the channel. I am in my sixties and grew up wheeling Colorado winters in the old days when tires were horrible. A good set of real snow chains and the 20 minutes it takes to put them on and off would have saved the crew a ton of work - although the video would not have been nearly as entertaining...
I am a big fan of tire chains, saved my life more than once. With practice (maybe I've had too much practice) all four tires chained in less than 10 minutes.
Chains are great too I think they should invest in some.
I have a Chevy Colorado ZR2 with front and rear lockers it goes anywhere
People who don't think chains work have probably never seen the old style criss-cross glaze breaker chains. The only thing that stopped them was when you dug the wheels deep enough to set the frame down on hard pack.
My best thought is, tire chains would be an asset in this one. Hope ed's ok 😯
yea and this is not the first one either.
Are they allergic to the chains there? I have seen many videos that could have been avoided with chains. I have never used chains, but if people are going offroad often with snow it would make sense to have chains.
Problem is, there's no room in the front fenders for chains anymore. Where you need them the most.
@@plumcrazy9842 Got a set for my BMW, and that's got barely any clearance at all. Trucks that size you'd be perfectly fine!
I think they don't use chains because it wouldn't make good videos. Recovery would be to easy.
That ground was impassable buy eny off road vehicle on tyres !!! It's a credit to you all as a team that we all got to see the Real challenges !!! "Like just standing up " my heart sank with edd into that snow !!; 🥺 Made me realize that one about life being short . YAK TRAX is what you all need. I wear them here on my mountain in snow, ice and mud and I never fall! Great video. The rescue that kept on giving.
Glad you all got out and with all the falls nobody got seriously hurt! Although I bet there were some soe and maybe bruised hips , knees and butts! If Ed was going to fall, I'm glad it was in somewhat deep snow to cushion his bones and you were there to help him!!
Good there was a recovery team near by 😉 Maybe bring some snow chains along next time?
Great to see the video team coming along. Just remember to bring the temperature conversion table on the next job 😆
I used to snowmobile in Idaho backcountry, we always chained up the fronts when leaving pavement, never had to make a call!
"the tracks just have to hold together a month or two longer" -- you said that out loud . . . now you've done it!
I love this family! And all their friends too! Always excited to see a new vid. You all have much love from me and please keep doing what you do and God bless you all!
As always enjoyed the family unity. It brings back memories of PA snow storms and my dad would go playing in the snow with his 58 Dodge w/chains pulling people that were stuck. Great memories. Ya'll have helped me recover from a long illness. You, Fab Rats, Bobby Layton, Casey's towing and Sleeper Dude round out my top 5 channels. Keep up the good work. Better than TV.
Hey Dave! Right there with you man! Covid was cruel to me this season! Get well okay 👍
Looks a great location to get stuck in. Always fun to watch these recoveries.
I do some deep snow driving, and this looks familiar. I do every thing I can to keep from putting the chains on until I get stuck (which makes chaining up twice as hard.) Looks like putting 4 chains on that Ford would have done the job ( and might have been less work than unloading and reloading that cat.)
The only thing I love more than how fast they were to help Ed when he fell is the constant turbo flutters from both trucks.
Good to see the young guys in the back of the track ruffing it 😁
I see at this video happy people doing job together
God bless your family, Matt.
Funny how Ed nailed it when he said we have to get out of here now 👍👍
Cheers to the camera crew! Thanks for the bonus recoveries and Trevor wannabe outtakes 🤣😂🤣👍!

I agree with Lizzy getting you guys out was the harder recovery it definitely made it a more interesting video because now we know even you guys get stuck sometimes. I am glad no one was seriously hurt when they fell. I admire the customer waiting to make sure you guys got out that was a great thing for him to do.
You guys are awesome. Even when you get stuck, I have no fear you won't figure it out and get out ok.
You've also inspired a ton of people everywhere. We are down in S Texas on the beach. There's an off-road rescue group here that goes and helps people who get stuck on the beach all the time. They do it for fun and bragging rights. I talked to some of them when they came to help me get off the beach, and they know all about this channel, the Golden Nugget project, Trevor falling all the time, the ropes, the whole deal.
A lot of people all over are safer because of what you've taught them with these videos. Many others they help out are also safer.
Keep up the great work.
Rudy is a hero, saving Ed in the slippery stuff. Great video guys, sorry about Matt's Ego.

Rudy’s Chevy comment was great. Matt’s Trevor comment was awesome after he fell. Finally, Lizzy falling at the end was icing on the cake. Pun intended. Plus no one actually got hurt. Fun times.
Take it from a Vermonter, buy some tire chains. They work like a dream. With a little practice, you can put them on in a few minutes.
agree, wasnt too deep, could have saved some time and effort probably.
Yeah but then the drama Factor goes down can't have any common Sense on a reality show
Does everyone think this is Matts first rodeo? He has both chains and a Bombi what's easier and drier unloading a Bombi or laying in the snow chaining up?

It’s a good thing that they have Blue Steel.Fords make great practice for them who pull out vehicles for a living. Great vid.
My boss would have fired me if I didn't chain up the tires before going down that power line road...and these guys own the company.
Pretty sure it's a combination of just making entertaining content, the stubbornness of a professional who think they don't need chains, and the confidence that they can get themselves out of any jam. But I am with you, the ten min spent chaining up would of prevented hours of additional work/ effort. And our video would of been a lot less entertaining.
Guess that's the difference between being the boss and working for the boss, Rule #1 the boss is always right even when he is not.
Matt,
Really appreciate the videos and the fact you are willing to show your fails. Any particular reason you don’t have snow tires on one or all your vehicles during the winter months? Of course your videos wouldn’t be nearly as long and entertaining if you did ;-)
Glad everyone got out, and got out safe...

I always love your channel and today's video was awesome. It's great to see your family working together and having fun doing it. Glad to see nobody got hurt especially Ed. The way everyone got to him shows great family values.

Funny how entertaining it is to watch people get stuck then unstuck. Keep it up guys
Ice under snow, the same conditions we have here in Wisconsin for 4-5 months a year.
Plus the temperature was right at the freeze/thaw point so the snow and ice were wet.
A lot of people here are suggesting using chains. As a fellow 'Sconnie guy, I cant help but wonder if just putting a pallet with 400-500 lbs of scrap steel on it in the truck bed would work better. They probably have some laying around from all the fabrication they do.
Actually it is MUD under snow. Not like Wisconsin. I was born and raised in Wisconsin...
