Great video of the NS trains and the CSX trains you caught. That was cool to see a conductor being trained on that CSX local. And then to catch the last NS AUTORACK train that went through. We know you're use to seeing the big trains as we do too but any size train is better than nothing! Thanks again for sharing some awesome footage with us along with your PRICELESS time and effort JT! Cheers from Delmar, Delaware.
@@JawTooth aweto the STREET RUNNING trains and that's an odd day for you to not see a DPU! They make catching a train exciting especially hearing them working hard! Always look forward to seeing your videos JT bcuz you capture everything I like! Nice job as always my friend!
You captured some great action at that first railroad crossing. Your comment on the "Sick horn" at 2:41 correct. That is one of the weirdest sounding train horns that I have heard. It was interesting to see all the Tropicana refrigerator cars that the switch engine had in its train. The hump in the street at that first crossing looks like it could still hang up a semi-trailer. I hope that no one with a low-boy trailer tries to use that street to cross the tracks.
Thank you very much! I saw one semi go over it and drag the bottom. I wish I could have filmed that. There is a sign telling them not to use this crossing
@@JawToothsigns seem to have no meaning to people. There is a historic covered bridge in Long Grove, Illinois (a northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois) that keeps getting damaged by box trucks and school buses. The latest instance was late last week. The news reports on the latest instance also report that the bridge has been hit and damaged something like forty-two times in the last two years. Some of the damage is just a dent to the top frame of the bridge. Other accidents require closing the bridge to make repairs.
NS has a 4 track crossing out here in Hersey Pa , it's on the busy Harrisburg Line . That second train leader had an odd sounding horn . Good catches thanks for taking us a long .
@@JawTooth I don't blame you ,it's a beautiful area and the inn is a perfect spot for watching trains. Fall and spring are the best times in my opinion.

Great to see you getting around the different types of crossings and switches. Also, I get to see some of your country towns along the way. Cheers mate
That Norfolk & Southern locomotive sure had a sick sounding horn! I've noticed when they run long hood forward (Backwards), the trains are super short, because they're only going a short distance.
That's was cool, talk about perfect timing, one train right after another, that second trains horn sounded a little off. 👍 Neat, didn't know they made a connector that allowed two sized rails to connect to each other, glad you showed that !! 👍 Tones of live action and you didn't have far to go... Wooooooooo 👍 Awesome Awesome VID !! 👍👍
Been watching your videos for a couple months now and I've enjoyed everyone of them but you know what I've never seen a train switch from one track to another. But anyway thank you for taking the time to share the videos with us.
Great video Jawtooth! Cool crossing! That 2nd train sure had a sick horn! Every time I see a train running long hood forward like that first one, it takes me back to seeing the old Southern trains in Danville Ky.! Thanks for sharing!
I am liking the live action here. Just when you think it's quiet, wait there's more! I think that ailing horn was saying that. Then you're talking about the jointed rails and the local comes to life.
Cool switching action JT, .love seeing that. That was a pretty foul sounding horn one that first NS train, wow. What is it about pets and waste baskets, Norfie really seems to like that one. Thanks for sharing JT, keep it up.👍🏼
Jaw Tooth you were correct.about a new employee being trained by a senior employee. Yellow vests are worn by qualified employees and orange vests are worn by trainees. This is the practice of CSX and NS. I can't day if this applies to any other railroads.
Very nice catches! That horn on the first NS didn't sound too good. Maybe it's dying. I like to watch trains switching and also maintenance. Have a nice day
Mr. JT Wonderful live action as always in this video whew. Very interesting with 4 tracks and how it all works thank you for all the information and how it all works...
That’s a cool video Jaw Tooth. Looks like a busy area. The second train that came through the crossing the horn sound a bit off lol. Pretty cool all the same. Stay safe out there & another like as always from this viewer 👍
That NS unit had the most anemic horn and frankly the number of trailers it was hauling was less than the average priority Intermodal. Great to see the local with all those Tropicana cars and then the long Hood GE go by with another local. Those Autoracks staying busy as demand for autos remains High and one old green BN car was now so faded the lettering is not legible. Norfie is now the production assistant and also has its own mail bin while Chessie missed her cue and Sophie just rolls through life without a care. Big cold front in a few hours and there goes summer
hey jawtooth after today I might not have a chance to watch for a few days going to men's retreat with my church just wanted to tell so you wouldn't think that I had quit watching
I know the feeling about hoping for a longer train. Waited two and a half hours a few weeks ago only to catch a CSX local with two cars. Happy to get it on film especially since he was running long hood forward.
Second train with tandem set of locomotives had dissimilar horns, notice the change of tone. Great weather at Elwood, 👌👍🌎🗽 PS - corner of McGregor Avenue and Township Highway 🛣
Norfie discovered that a waste basket can be a nice little outdoor fort. 🐾
Cats love boxes, enclosed spaces

Wow, thanks!
And jaw tooth and that's cool short longer trains ❤😊
And jaw tooth that's cool rail road crossing location for longer train ❤😊
Cool video. I know it was mentioned many times, but that first NS train horn was so odd sounding. Great catches here.
Thanks!
Had a roundhouse guy tell me that it was the valve that makes the horn function not opening all the way.

That second train roiled pretty smooth. Most trains so far seemed to have at least a few cars with flat-spots on their wheels.
