It is untrue that Elvis never ate at other people's homes. When he was in the army, my uncle, who was Elvis's drill sergeant, invited him to his home. My grandma cooked and ordinary meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and other southern fare. He did not bring his own flatware either. My uncle has a wonderful picture of him with my grandma sitting at her table. He ate everything on his plate and asked for more. They said he was polite and sweet.

I know someone who went to school with Priscilla at a girls catholic school In Memphis Tennessee. She came with him when he came back to USA. She was still underage. Her father made him promise she would finish high school, not get married until she was 18, and he was not to touch her until they were married. It's true that he was not a germaphobe but he did have some aversions. When he was young he only used one plate, cup and glass. No one else was allowed to use them. The same with his eating utensils (knife, fork,spoon). If he ate at someone else home, he brought his own utensils. After he was an adult he would drink near the handle of a cup. He said that was the one place no one else drank from.
