I have type one diabetes too, I was diagnosed this year and was close to death when I was admitted to the hospital and right now I play competitive dance and hockey and lacrosse and I have an insulin pen but I have a meeting with some of my nurses tomorrow to discuss getting a pump and I'm so siked!
I was diagnosed 6 years ago and I had a pump the next year, I cheer, ice skate dance and tumble and it's not easy but getting a pump does make it easier and you can do anything!
I was diagnosed at 11 months and i don't do much sport
I was diagnosed when I was 3 , I do volleyball, soccer and I swim I'm also going to boarding school and I have a dexcom which checks my blood sugar every 5 minutes but I only have to test twice and day and 4 times when I put it in and it can last up to 3 weeks . But besides the point I'm trying to get an insulin pump
By the way a great tip for a pump while you do your sport or just in general stashbands can help
Maya Grant I also have the dexcom. And it works great. And I recently got the G6. Now we are trying to get the pump

i have so much respect for Jenee, in fact all of the team. All the sacrifices they make and how they work is incredible and they are such an amazing team! You have a fan from the UK! Go Team SMOED!

As a former cheerleader at one of the "Florida Gyms" it was cute to see this and I totally understand moving for the sport. Can't image trying to do practice with the pump, once I got sick I had to stop cheer completely but just twisting weird gets tubes all kinked!

I totally feel Jenee's pain with diabetes I have had it since I was 13 months old! And I'm a dancer so I have to check all the time.. It can get kinda annoying but it's not that bad

they really are amazing young talented girls. I hope Gabbi doesn't quit. She seems to really love it. All Star cheerleading falls into the same area as Elite gymnastics really....
being a former gymnast you have to make the same hard decisions to leave your family to find the best coach/team in the country. Its emotionally taxing. I hope shes able to keep cheerling
