Yeah...I understand it takes time to make quality games. But this is getting pretty out there. Hope it's not stuck in development hell.
It is. And has been for almost 10 years. Switched like 3 different studios. I don't think thus game will see light of day
I’m more excited for Judas. Apparently on Jan 31 PlayStations event might have another teaser.

Yeah it's getting to a point where the game is (unfortunately) stuck in development hell.
The first game took years to conceptualize, the second game was pretty much given a short amount of time to develop, so much so that Arkane had to be brought in to help with the Multiplayer, and we all know what happened with Infinite *cough* Ken Levine's scope got waaayyy too big *cough*.
Let's hope for the best.
At least we are getting Judas to help fill the void left by the Bioshock Series
As a massive BioShock fan, I really love this channel and look forward to your content Erik. I hope you are doing well. I finally completed BioShock Infinite a couple of weeks ago on the PC. I have completed BioShock 1 & 2 several times. I was pleasantly surprised by the story in Infinite and while I won't post any spoilers here, I really enjoyed it and the ending was very cleverly written.
I really hope we see a BioShock 4 game, it is so long overdue. I wondered if it would be a prequel before the fall of Rapture.
Nah they done that with the infinite dlc I think they'll just forget about rapture.
@@shadowbanned1999 Thanks for the info, I never played the Buried at sea dlc so wasn't aware. I think you might be right. Move on from Rapture and try something new in the BioShock universe.
Bioshock 4 will never meet the high expectations everybody has. They either piss off the original Bioshock fans or the Infinite fans or both. So their goal must be to aim even higher but keep it in the realm of the Bioshock franchise. I don't see how that is possible. It's not as easy as telling yet another story about yet another man in yet another city. Except you just want to capitalize on the name one last time and don't really care. I think the way Levine does it is a much smarter approach. He's clearly producing a very "bioshockish" game but without all the Bioshock lore weighing him down. So now BS4 has not only to compete with its predecessors but also with Judas, a game from the creator of Bioshock himself who spent 10 years into developing his new masterpiece. So now the BS4 crew has to aim even much higher. BS4 could have been OKish maybe 5 years ago, but 1-2 years after Judas it does not stand a chance.
They must be having a hard time coming up with ideas, wish I could work for them, I’d have better ideas than relying on the "multiverse”.
I believe they are just trying to create a decent story with decent characters and are trying to create a great teaser trailer for the Bioshock fans. I mean, at this point in time it has been 10 years since the last time we saw Bioshock, so I assume they want to surprise the fans with something crazy, it’s just taking them a bit of time to do that.

I’m just going to declare JUDAS as the unofficial BioShock 4.
Even if the release for Cloud Chamber's BioShock is nowhere in sight, we still have Judas to look forward to.

@@matth6163Hmm, I’ve never heard of them before, have they done anything else prior to working on the new Bioshock game? Or are they like Rocksteady, being ballsy AF and working on a huge project as their first thing ever? R.I.P. to Irrational Games, they were awesome, interesting to see that Bioshock is outliving the company who created it in the first place. It happens sometimes, let’s hope Saints Row gets the same treatment someday, Volition may be gone for good, but Saints Row doesn’t have to be, one or multiple other developers could craft Saints Row games just as good, if not perhaps somehow even better than the beautiful ones we got in the 2000’s and early 2010’s, though beating Saints Row 2 would be extremely difficult, it’s the still the absolute pinnacle of the series.
@@arthurfleck629 Nope, BioShock 4 is their first project, but from what I’ve heard, the team consists of some people that worked on at least one previous BioShock game.
Feedback because I love your videos: I really like how there is gameplay in the background of videos like these, but I think that hearing a quieted version of the gameplay audio while you speak, or perhaps just some quiet BioShock music in the background. I think it could really add a lot to videos such as these where the only other sound is you talking. Much love brother!
It should be more on a horror with Art Deco style like the original since it’s timeless and stay away from the bio shock burial at sea which tainted the original image a bit which left more to the imagination rather than seeing things as they were. The image of rapture in it’s glory days is grander whilst leaving to the players imagination. Gritty + Art Deco + Horror. Story is important as was one and two and the setting is a beautiful backdrop of it’s faded glory days. There’s new generations now who might not have played the originals so having the same mechanics slightly tweaked would feel fresh and new whilst having modern gameplay and graphics in a way that doesn’t alienate older fans of the series.
Script rewrites mean it’s GOING WELL. The last thing we need is another legendary AAA franchise being destroyed by a shitty release.
Im scared its gonna be open world. Im tired of this trend you dont have to make everything an openworld rpg. It will ruin the whole bioshock feel and pace of the game.

The movie have script issues could be a blessing in disguise for the game because it could give cloud camber more time to work on delvopling it hopefully it will be released soon.

I'm glad that the next entry is in development hell. I'd rather have NO NEW GAMES than BAD ONES released that might tarnish the series' legacy.
Anyway we should be getting Judas in 2025 and I'll take a Levine produced game over whatever live service nonsense stuffed with micro-transactions Bioshock sequel that 2K is working on.

I hope next Bioshock game takes place on a normal island with a lighthouse. First it was under the sea, then over the clouds.
It seems just normal next one is on ground level. Probably a normal city with a liberal socialdemocratic system with normal problems and normal issues from today’s world.
The character goes in there entirely on purpose and by his own free will, gets a job in the public administration but gets fired, then he leaves
How long has it been since we had news about Netflix making something Bioshock related? It feels like an eternity. Hopefully it won't go through the same development debacle as Dead Island 2
Going thru another replay of BS1, missed Rapture. Unfortunately, I think the only BS-adjacent thing that I'm looking forward to is Judas, and I'm still skeptical. Levine has had a long time to cook but maybe too long?

At the risk of repeating myself, I guess the series is dead! What you read online sounds anything but good. It seems like they have no idea what they actually want to do, neither in terms of content nor anything else. It's a shame, but before they mess it up completely it would be better to give it up.
The rewrites and the fact it has to tie in to a movie are especially concerning for me. I think the lack of a clear vision is going to be a big problem when it comes to the final product. Fingers crossed I'm just being cynical tho

As much as I want to have a new Bioshock as soon as possible, it's always better to not rush it. As long as they stick to the original games as inspiration and build on top of it instead of copying what the triple A games are doing at the moment I'm sure it will be great.
I hope the development goes well I understand art takes time in order to make it memorable and great but updates are important even if it’s something we wouldn’t want to hear such as rewriting scripts
I get wanting to take the time to make a good game, but we are dipping into the same issue we had with infinite. That got pushed back too, im just hoping this isnt like dead island 2 where it gets moth balled for a decade
Its kinda like silksong where we arnt getting alot of news, but bioshock might be in a worse state than hollow knight silksong but i still have hope for both games
It’s been 10 years! In my opinion there is no rush here. I Rather wait 2-4 more years for a decent polished game than to have one that is rushed like every other game it seems like.
I'm looking more forward to Judas to be honest.

I too was disappointed that there was nothing about Cloud Chamber's Bioshock at the last VGAs. Even a 30 to 60 second teaser trailer would have been nice
We will have been waiting so long that we'll need a masterpiece of a game and get a fine game that we had to wait 12 years or whatever. Though maybe it will be great and the movie will be great to.

Really disappointing that Cloud Chamber is screwing this up so bad. It’s not like this is a Grand Theft Auto game that takes forever to put together. At this point I’m more excited about Judas than this new Bioshock game. At least we are getting some updates on the movie so I know I might get something to scratch my BioShock itch soon.
I have an idea: we're 38 thousand people on this channel. Why don't we come together, make a reddit group whatever, and organise a hit on 2K games social media accounts DEMANDING updates on bioshock? We'd only need 300+ people all at once for a week or two to be noticed and addressed.

I feel like you can't win as a developer because if you take too long the players hate you and if you sacrifice quality for release people hate you too for turning out a crappy game. Im wondering if they're keeping this in mind and aren't even opening the flood gates for people to start going after them in regard to time to develop. An update would be nice but I'm ok with this as long as a full and complete QUALITY AAA game comes out.

I love every part of bioshock... As far as I'm concerned, it just gets better and better with each entry but honestly I don't think we need anymore... Bioshock has infinitely ran itself into the ground😅pun intended
