I made a nice round awl a while back and use it often. I need to make one of these now too. Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent, Janet. Thanks for commenting.
I'm gonna put flats on one of my awls. Hadn't thought of that. Nice idea!
Yay! I have an awl I made (probably from your tip a while back) but didn't make the faces for starting holes. That will be really handy!
Very handy tips Mike, thanks.
Cheers
Mike
Hi Mike! Great tip! One of my awls I made from an allen wrench. Just sharpened each flat to the point and it works great!
Take care, Dave
Sounds like that would work well. Allen wrenches are always a hard steel.
"You awl have an awl." Classic Mike.
Great tip video.
Too funny. Yall have a nice day, hear?
Thanks Mike.
A good tip, I will do that with my awl. Júlíus
You could also make a protective cover for your awls from a pen blank or other similar scrap...might be fun to decorate the covers to match the awl handles. Just a thought. :)
That is a thought. Corks are so easy and effective : )
