Thank you so much! I started meal prepping to better control my portions, so the one with compartments are perfect for me. I have plastic ones, currently where a few broke from me cutting my chicken 🙃. The Prep Naturals multi-compartment container will be one I’ll be looking into.
Great information, I’m just starting meal prep planning, and want to move away from plastic. I do have a question about the bento containers, do you find that you get liquid moving from container to container if it is being carried in a backpack!
Hi, when you say Pyrex glass, do you mean sodium lime glass or do you mean borosilicate glass? Pyrex makes both kinds, with different pros & cons but I would like try the exact ones you reviewed. This is a fantastic review, really informative, and you covered the things that are really care about like how they stack it. The lid gets warped., thank you. I’m gonna subscribe.
I never wash my snap ware lids in the dishwasher only by hand, and that helps with longevity. I prefer glass over plastic always when I saw a documentary about BPA and other plastics. Scared the bejesus out of me. Great video BTW.☺
Have you tried the Pyrex Ultimate storage containers? Though expensive, they are Pyrex glass containers with GLASS & SILICONE lids. I'm curious if those could end up at the top of your list.
Hi Steve! I've purchased them individually at Real Canadian Superstore and they were around $6 (CDN) each. They are affordable at Target and Walmart in the US. I haven't seen these containers sold as part of a set before. Another container I'm LOVING since posting this video, and that also happens to be cheaper, are the ones from IKEA. They come in a ton of sizes and I really like the lids!
Sweet Peas Saffron full disclosure I am a heart patient. I have been watching Sam the Cooking Guys channel and trying to figure out hacks to make things healthier so I can put things back in the diet. My plan is much different. I am making his spaghetti pie and freezing most of it in the little containers Inhave. However I at lunch every day at school I have a salad and veggies. Is there a little larger size so I could put them together?
After finding your channel ( which is awesome by the way!) I went on a hunt for decent glass meal prep containers in Canada. I found some at Ikea! I got 10 of them today, and they were only $3.50 each for the 20oz(2.5 cup) squares. The lids are indented too so they are stable when stacked. I’m not sure how they’ll hold up but I find ikea items usually last. Hopefully!
I know I am two years late in commenting but loved your video. I have just as many glass containers and almost the same ones. I have snap ware, Pyrex with snap lids, a set I bought at Sams...like I said many and I use them. I also have the meal prep container from naturals and you are right the lids don’t snap as good but still do a decent job for lunches for work.
Well...3 years into owning them and I have never had mold grow. It could be that I live in a dryer climate, but if you thoroughly dry the lids, it really should not be an issue.
One thing that stops me from meal prep is having good containers. Your video was exactly the advice I needed. Thanks!
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Let me know if you have any questions!
That's exactly how a comparison review should be! This was immensely helpful! Thank you

I, too, prefer the "wide-mouth" Mason canning jars. They are made in different sizes from 4oz to 64oz.
Johnny Kaldani wow! I’ve never seen larger than 1 quart, those 64 oz ones must be pretty big!

Great tip! Glad you liked the video :)
The rubber should be removable just for you to clean it thoroughly
Thank you
Are the containers your are most likely to travel with leak proof? Especially with more liquid based substances

I've heard you say in other videos how much you love wex jars. How do they compare to the ones you showcased in this video?
I am actually not the hugest fan of Weck jars because the lids are a pain but I like standard mason jars like Ball or Kerr
I use Weck jars mainly because they look pretty in photos 😂
Hi Denise, how can we email you? Couldn’t find your contact via the blog.
Feel free to ask your questions here, or you can email me at denise@sweetpeasandsaffron.com
Do you wash your mason jar lids in the dishwasher? I’m tempted to buy the one piece plastic lids. What are your thoughts?
Absolutely - for me the one piece lids are a huge upgrade over the two-piece lids.
I wash my mason jar lids in the dishwasher and just make sure they are thoroughly dry before storing. I have no issues with rust.
Do the snapware ones come in affordable sets?

I love the ikea containers! I definitely recommend them as an alternative to the snapware ones. The lids are great quality and they are affordable
thank you
You're so welcome!!
I hate plastic containers but the glass ones are so hard to find in the everyday supermarkets!
I hear you! I have only found them in our Real Canadian Superstore, but I think Target carries them in the US?
Sam’s club. Or Amazon online
Do you have glass container that have wavy pattern at the bottom?
looks like a comercial of a good product... but donno

best detail review on meal prep and lunch container review I have seen. THANKS!
The plastic seal is so you don’t grow mold in them. That’s why I don’t like Pyrex.

Good review,
You should rethink that hairstyle
