I have never read the books but I got hooked on the first season. I love Preacher as a character and I think Colin plays him so well. He’s tall, handsome, sensitive and respectful and he can cook! Seriously! 😊

I have really enjoyed this series so much! I love stories of strong female characters who feel the need to start over in a new place. And, I admit, I like the “fixing up an old shack/house” subplot. Something about that is so appealing to me.
Also, the writing is so good, and the actors are all great. Looking forward to the next season!

Can’t wait for season two
As long haul truck drivers we've had the time and opportunity to listen and enjoy on Audible, all of the VIRGIN RIVER series, THUNDER POINT, SULLIVANS'S CROSSING and GRACE VALLEY series. We love these books and find the TV series have kept the characters true to themselves. Yes there are a few deviated scenario's, but the difference between the books and TV versions don't effect the enjoyment factor. We've watched the 1st season and are anxious to see the 2nd season!!
Long rides are the best time to listen to books :)
I’m usually into dark shows… gore, violence, sex, & etc….. this show caught me by surprise… I’m yrs late but I’m glad I found it. 👏🏾

Love this series! Sure wish each season was longer than 10 episodes! I hate that I want to binge watch when it’s only 10 episodes and will be over so quickly! The characters are well developed and deal with many emotional issues head on. Like the complex plots with a number of different situations. Love that it is filmed in my backyard in BC.Colin Lawrence is fabulous as is Martin Henderson.

Just finished watching season one, and I really hope there will be a second season because I loved it! Yes it’s different from the books, but really it was still great. Only thing I didn’t like much was the charmaine storyline, really no need to add that extra drama, when there is enough drama in the original material. Please let there be a second season, oh and release a blooper reel, I love blooper reels!

The only part of the series that is REALLY out of sync with the books are the aerial shots of the town that is MUCH MUCH too big for little Virgin River. I am hoping the change that for S2.
